Ford's Plumbing and Heating

We had a gas leak that forced the Gas company to turn off the gas to our house. Ford's responded quickly, pressure testing the lines at the juncture and capping the two lines so the company could come back out and turn it back on. Once they did, we discovered that the line they capped went to the house, so digging up the line to patch the leak was necessary. I felt they overcharged for the 1.5 hrs work they charged $400 to perform and then they gave a huge quote to do the small dig and patch. Since the gas was on a portion of the house this job was less urgent, so I decided to get other quotes for the work. A few hours later, I got a call from the Ford's technician, who had "discovered" a way to fix the leak at half the price and said he could do it monday, but at that point another plumber had come and delivered a quote that was a fourth of Ford's quote and they could do it the following morning. I had the work done by the other company, on time, on budget and with great quality. If you decide to use Ford, I suggest getting other quotes first.

The plumber (Reilly) arrived on time and assessed the problem. He needed special parts and agreed to return the next day. Again, he showed up on time, fixed the leak and voluntarily remembered to apply the Angie's List discount to his original estimate. I couldn't be happier.

Ford's was great. They were on time, actually a few minutes early, I had my Angie's List coupon which they honored, making the cost even better. They gave me an estimate for a possible future much-bigger-job, made suggestions on the best way to go about it in terms of keeping it cost effective for me, not them. All was great, I will definitely be making Ford's Plumbing & Heating my new go-to for plumbing (& heating if/when that's needed).

Great experience. Ford's sent someone out within 3 hours of my initial call. He diagnosed and fixed the problem with the garbage disposal quickly -- it's an old, very rusty unit that should be replaced for the long term, but for the short term, spraying some WD-40 loosened it up enough to get it functioning again. He was very nice and professional and worked quickly, and provided advice on using the coupon that would maximize a discount on the job. Would definitely use them again.

I called a different company that I found on the internet and they wanted to charge me close to $500 to replace my toilet. This was to much money that I could afford, so i looked on angies list and found Fords plumbing. The plumber came over and told me my toilet was only 5 years old and that the chain to the flapper was to loose, he fixed the chain within 15 minutes. He also gave me a $50 off coupon witch brought my bill down to $39. If I have any other plumbing problems (I hope I don't ) I will call them first.

They arrived on time. The gentleman who came to my house was very neat and tidey. I would tell a friend or family member if they needed something fixed I would say absolutely.

The problem wasn't solved and they over-charged for the work. Never received any warranty for the work done.

It has been very reasonable. The guy who did the work is very honest and straightforward. I called every single plumbing company in the area and they were the only one who guaranteed that they could come out. They made a room for me that day and that was very nice. I will call them back again. They were lovely.

Everything went well. The service providers were very friendly. I however strongly believe we over paid for services. We had a plumbing crisis, and I believe they took advantage of it. They also suggested re-plumbing the entire dwelling. I would have given them an "A" overall except for the cost of service.

I assume it went well. I do not know how to tell when a plumbing job is good or bad. There is no longer a leak, so the job was very likely done well. The price was high. First estimate was $8,000. Extra work to be done brought it to $9,160. "The owner", as he was referred to by office staff and plumbers on the job, was not helpful in allowing me to make payments. I am retired and $8,000 plus is a lot of money to me. I called a couple of other plumbers and received estimates from $7,000 to $10,000 over the phone. Ford's sort of fell in the middle. The Angie's List discount helped a bit. The plumbers on the job were very nice and worked hard. They cleaned u after themselves nicely. The office staff was nearly non-reponsive. I called a few times asking for a more legible copy of the statement. I was told their supervising plumber would come by with one. He never showed up. I called another couple of times with no response. I had paid $7,800.00 and wanted clarification before I paid the rest. I received a call telling me that that the supervising plumber had lost my check. My bank charged a $25 stop payment fee. I deducted that amount and issued a new check. He was here right away to collect the money, of course. I heard nothing for a couple of weeks or more. I called and left another message. It was never my intention to make a career out of trying to reach Ford's Plumbing! Plus, every time I spoke with them, there seemed to be a lack of communication between their office staff and the plumber on the job. I've never done business with any company EVER with such poor internal communication. When I mentioned my disappointment in communicating with them, I was met with excuses and explanations that fell quite short. Finally, I received a call telling me I had a balance due. Gee. Really? I asked them again to mail me a legible copy of the statement and if I agreed with it, I would pay it, and if I didn't, we would talk later. It took a few weeks to accomplish that simple task. All in all, I think nearly three months went by after the job was completed and I paid the remaining balance. It is done and over now, but I doubt I'll be using them again.

Ryan determined that the pressure balance shower valve needed to be replaced. Because the shower trim was frozen due to age and rust it was impossible to remove. That meant having to go through the wall behind the shower. The job took a few hours and the work was completed by Joe and Oscar. Much to my surprise, after the install the shower still dripped. I called the office and Ryan promptly returned to address the problem. He cleaned out the newly installed shower valve which had debris from the factory and the install. Finally, no more dripping. Also, Ford's Plumbing replaced the shower head at no cost so that it would match the finish of the shower valve. From start to finish everyone I spoke with from Ford's Plumbing was totally professional and I am happy with the work performed. I would call them again. Thank you.

Called them after I started smelling gas in the backyard and the gas co. confirmed I had a leak somewhere underground. Riley came and gave and estimate, and while scoping the sewer, he pointed out that it was breached in a bunch of places, which I knew to be true from earlier events. He gave an estimate based on replacing both at once, since much of the trenching would be the same, and after some negotiation we agreed on a price that seemed fair. The work went pretty smoothly. One or two things had to be redone, once when Robert the owner came to have a look, and again when the inspector came by. And though there were a couple moments of miscommunication between myself and the crew, everyone was polite, very professional, and did their best to make everything turn out right. Overall, I was impressed by their professionalism and work ethic, plus they're a nice group of people, and I would hire them again.

Wonderful phone service from operator. Responsive, friendly, all pro. Ryan Ford (heir to the throne apparently) showed up. Young, earnest, clear-eyed and absolutely knew his stuff. You don't expect this kind of expertise from someone this young -- his father must be a helluva teacher. Simply - he figured it out in a few mins, did the work silently and efficiently. The fix was done right and there was no mess or "evidence" that he'd even been here except for the receipt. Also - we had another issue I had questions about - our not so great hot water recirc system. He figured out what was what and gave me a couple options for what to do next. As soon as we decide, we'll be calling them back.

After coming out for a service call the technician informed me that they do not work on water heaters purchased at Home Depot. Which would have been great information to have when I called for service in the first place. He proceeded to do nothing to solve our problem, except to tell us to contact the manufacturer to look into our warranty. Meanwhile we added two additional days to our cold showers due to their lack of service.

The Ford Plumbing team came to our rescue quickly and professionally. They explained the problem clearly, and fixed it quickly, for a reasonable price. Would hire Fords Plumbing again in a heartbeat!

Our tankless water heater stopped working. We called their number on a Sunday, spoke with Reilly and was able to schedule a service promptly. They did not charge a higher rate for coming out on a Sunday and communicated the likely costs for the maintenance. Reilly showed up 15 minutes early got to work quickly and we had hot water again within 30 minutes. Will call them first for any future needs.

It doesn't rain much in LA but last night it was pouring and my patio drain was so backed up I couldn't even walk to my garage. I called fords plumbing again, and again the plumber showed up on time. While standing in pouring rain and ankle deep in rain water he unclogged my patio drain. I have, and will continue to recommend them to family and friends.

the estimate was so expensive and unrealistic. we ended up doing it for 1/4 of the cost. yup. a 1/4. and yes, the company we ended up using was also on angie's list. it's possible.

They're very expensive. I think they use one licensed plumber and an assistant which is a little bit worrisome because they don't present that upfront. They're nice and friendly. There was no other issues. I got quotes from other companies to do the same work and they're extremely expensive. I was over paying for their services. They did good work and they were responsive. It's just ridiculous that I paid $600 more than I should have and that's a lot of money.

We have just had some major work done by Ford’s Plumbing and Heating in Culver City. The job was major and well done. We especially want to praise the work team, led by Brill, and the special assistance of Milton, and a couple of workers named Junior and Luis. They worked hard and were very pleasant to deal with. For example, when rain threatened, they stayed extra hours each day to make sure the job was completed before it started raining. I chose them, because they were highly rated on Angie's List. So far, they have been good in terms of punctuality and responsiveness.

Very professional service and team. The project manager kept me up to date on the multi-day project with daily updates. Since my home is older (1927) and has had extensive modifications over the last 80 years, repairing/replacing the sewer was somewhat of an archeological dig! While the final cost exceeded the initial estimate, I was comfortable that all possible measures were taken to minimize the overage. Add to that the quality of the work, and I am satisfied with the higher costs. I would recommend Ford's Plumbing & Heating to others and will use them in the future whenever the need arises.

They were reasonably priced, quick & efficient.
