Jim was great to work with. Knows what a home needs, always available, and friendly. Couldn't be happier with the plans he drew for our project. He also helped us deal with all of the Culver City planning department intricacies. He is now my go to recommendation for architecture in Culver City.

We were very pleased with his ideas and his service. He is able to work in a variety of styles. He first sketched out an idea we didn't like, giving our ranch house a vaguely Craftsman look. After our feedback his second idea was very much to our liking, a generally contemporary look. He had a lot of good ideas about how the spaces should flow, what would be a functional layout (as we can especially see now that the work is done) and how to mesh the new addition with the old house. He did not oversee work continually at the job site--we chose not to pay more to have him do that--but he provided suggestions throughout the project when we sought his advice about color schemes, window choices, etc. I don't know what's standard for the amount he did, but the price seemed very reasonable, only about 3% of the total 300k job cost. The only minor drawback was that he could be hard to reach and not always quick to return calls and emails, but this was never a significant issue.
