He met me to review the list of repairs I needed -- I thought he would just assess and provide estimates.. but no.. he wanted to fix it right there on the spot! This was a welcome surprise and he got his tool kit out and began to fix my sliding door and front door right then and there. I was very impressed by his willingness to help out and not even ask for any compensation. Beyond that, he helped me "fix" a wetbar faucet which I thought was broken. Other contractors had said I would need it replaced; after inspecting the pipes and faucet for a few minutes, he figured it was just an old handle that needed to be lifted up in a special way. It worked perfectly -- and he easily saved me an unnecessary $150-300. Great guy and great help -- my only minor nits were he was about 20 minutes late on our agreed upon time. He is very passionate and conversant; and has admittedly even said he can be guilty of "talking too much", but this was not much of a negative as he was very friendly and humble. You must ask him about his story of starting his own business -- a very inspiring one! :)

He was very nice and responsive but he couldn't complete 3/5 tasks I gave him and the main one, hanging a mirror, he managed to do incorrectly.

I met with Byron in advance to go over the list in detail, and determine what materials were required. He wrote everything down and made notes referencing what was required and we agreed on times & price. I wanted him to do these jobs on particular 2 days and times (around my schedule, and other deliveries/work on the house). He was accommodating with my time restraints and showed up not only only time, (also sending me a text the night before reconfirming) but a few mins early on both days with a big smile. He was able to complete all but one task over the two day period, but returned on May 2nd to complete the last job (still inclusive of the total agreed price). As it happened, another separate repair came up unexpectedly, and Byron is going to return again this week to complete that task as a stand alone job. Byron was a pleasure to deal with and i would highly recommend him (although i hope he doesn't get too popular in case I need him again *smile*)!

Byron was fantastic!!! Not only was he friendly and professional, but the work that he did was top notch! He provided an estimate for the work in a prompt fashion and was the least expensive of any other bids...and I think he did the BEST WORK from what any other person would have done. He listened to what we needed and was honest and smart about finding the best and most cost effective solutions. Details were paid attention to, and the quality was extremely high. When Byron left, we felt like, "when can we get him back? We need to find more projects for him to do!!" Highly recommended. Trustworthy, genuine, friendly, reasonably priced, professional and highly skilled! What more could you want?

Byron provided excellent service. I was in need of removing an extra closet door and frame from my living room (I know, a weird request) and Byron was a thoughtful and excellent listener to my problem at hand. We discussed many different options as a plan of execution - and I am more than happy with the end result - a seamlessly, clean Living Room wall. I also requested and additional job of buffing and refinish the wood floors in all rooms of the home. He did an outstanding job and which I am very happy I used Angieslist to find him as a resource. He was easy to talk to and very good guy, full of good suggestions and ideas (a "no pressure" guy). He was able to squeeze the work I requested into his schedule - and for that I am most appreciative for. I will be using him the future - and I would strongly recommend the work that he had performed on my home.

I got the contact from Angie's List, call for an estimate, Byron met me at the agreed time and we walked through the problems to be fixed. We haggled about a fair price time of start and finish work then settled at $370. I gave Byron the keys to the apartment for him to start the next day. Byron was painting when I returned from work. I grabbed a paint brush and helped a little. We finished a couple of hours later. I wrote a check for Byron when the job was completed. Byron was very nice and a professional.

My experience with Byron was awesome. I would use Byron in a heartbeat once again and here's why: Honesty - He's a straight forward, honest guy. He tells you up front what you're going to need, what could possibly go wrong, what additional costs might come up and how pricing can be affected. From my experience in dealing with other contractors/handymen, alot underbid and don't disclose the additional costs that could arise because they simply want your business. Then during the work, they surprise you with additional work and costs because of unforeseen complications. Byron doesn't do that. He tells you upfront. Punctual/Communication - He was always on-site 5-10 minutes before the promised time and is there until the work is completely done to high standards. His communication with you is consistent as he calls when he says he will or gives you a heads up if anything changes. DETAILED - This is what truly sold me on Byron after working with him. He is extremely detailed in his work and really tries his best to give you quality services. There were times when we ran into complications and each and every time, Byron would solve the issue and complete the work in the most detailed and thoughtful way possible. From installing moulding to ductwork to plumbing work, Byron was very detailed in his work. If you have any doubts about whether to give Byron a call, I wouldn't hesitate. At the very least, you can give him a shout for an estimate and you can see for yourself how honest and straightforward he really is. His prices are more than fair and he's just a really really good guy. After having worked with some many people that tried to squeeze as much work and money out of me during my remodel, I am very thankful to have found Byron.

Excellent. Mr. Gonzalez was on time, professional, prepared and thoughtful in his work. He took great care with all the details to do a really good job. He seems to take pride in doing good quality work and is detail oriented. He also was good about cleaning up after the work was done.

He showed up in the morning as he promised and was extremely courteous and knowledgable. Unlike most handymen he is prompt and courteous. He will even show how you how to do things yourself so you can handle more on your own if you are curious. His work is flawless and he is extremely capable. I cant recommend highly enough. Also, his rates are extremely reasonable compared to anyone else you get servicing the Westside.
