We went to Pioneer Garage Door because they specialized in custom garage doors. Alan was always prompt, and though the job required a few visits to the house, he gave us a beautiful garage door, custom fit to our unique garage door scenario. He was usually on site in person, addressed our every need, and both he and his staff had excellent communication. We could not be happier with our experience.

Excellent. My garage door springs broke last night, so I left a phone message & sent them an email around 9:00 p.m. - They responded via email by 6:00 a.m. the next morning, and called at 7:00. - Made an appointment for 10 - 12. - Technician called 30 minutes ahead of time to confirm the appointment and say he was on his way. - He finished ahead of schedule. The door works like new again. My only issue, and it is very minor, is I would have expected them to have some kind of jack or lever so the technician could lift a broken garage door without assistance. Had I not been physically able to help, I don't know how he would have lifted the door by himself.

They looked at my garage door that was opening but not closing. All it needed was a sensor adjustment. Fixed it, serviced it and the second garage door opener for the other bay. Service man was on time, called before he came, super polite and professional. They couldn't send someone when I called on Thursday but had someone at my garage first thing the next morning. Took about 30 minutes and the price was good. Did not try to upsell anything.

I'd give Pioneer Door an "A+" if that were an option. Based on my experience, it's no wonder they get an "A" from 94% of their Angie's List reviewers. I have a detached garage in the rear of the lot that's not visible from the street. Although I prefer the look of wood, I decided to get a steel door because it's much less expensive and would require less maintenance. Three garage door companies with good ratings on Angie's list looked at the job, but never bothered to quote it. They said they would quote it, but never followed through even after being reminded. Eventually, I got quotes from three other companies. Two of them recommended doors and operators from the same manufacturers at reasonable prices. But I wasn't completely satisfied with the look and quality. Alan Hill (owner of Pioneer Door) recommended a steel door to be made by C.H.I. Overhead Door that actually looks like wood. It's also very high quality. Alan also recommends Marantec operators which are excellent. It wasn't the cheapest option, but clearly the best for appearance and quality. My experience with Pioneer Door could not have been better. Everyone I had contact with in the company was a pleasure, in particular the installers Nathan, Rick, and Spencer. There were a couple of issues that were the fault of the manufacturer, not Pioneer Door; and Alan took care of it. I got the impression from the guys who did the work that this small company operates like a family with loyal, experienced, long-time employees. I highly recommend them.

It was good. They were on time when they said they would get here, they didn't try to charge me for a lot of stuff I didn't ask and the assistant is the one who fixed it.

I highly recommend this company. They came out for the quote to do the work, and were very professional, didn't try to "upsell" me on products like a few other had and the price came in very good. They installed the door today, made confirmation calls yesterday, and this morning called before showing up. They were very punctual, the installer was friendly and knew what he was doing. Overall, the quality was great, price was great, and company good to work with.

I called Pioneer Doors on Monday, March 16 and on Tuesday morning a repairman came to the house. He had all the material he needed in his truck and replaced both springs in the garage door. It took about 20 minutes. He fully explained what he was going to do and was very courteous. He presented me with an invoice and explained it was the lowest price he could offer. I also received a 10% discount from Pioneer. Everyone I spoke with was very courteous and professional. Made the whole process painless. I would highly recommend you give them a call should you need garage door repair or installation.

I knew I needed a new double garage door to replace my ancient wooden one. I was at the end of a long restoration project on my 90 year old house and anxious to finish but watching expenses carefully. I didn't know much about garage doors and wasn't impressed with the people I called before Pioneer. My fear was I would wind up with a cheap looking door on my beautifully restored house, or upsold to something beyond what i wanted and needed. When I called Pioneer Door, I spoke with Kim and she was extremely helpful from the start. I was concerned a company based in Covina wouldn't come all the way out to Santa Monica for an estimate, but she assured me they would. When I told her I had seen doors I liked, she suggested I email pictures to her and she would get them to Alan (Kim and Alan Hill are the owners of Pioneer Door) and he would get back to me. He did, commenting on the doors I had sent and saying he was sure he could find something I would like at a reasonable price. We scheduled an appointment and Alan explained the types and materials available and took a good look at my house so that he could suggest door styles that would go with it. I felt very comfortable doing business with him. It was clear he was a knowledgeable professional who genuinely cared that his customers were happy. i discussed the alternatives with my husband that evening and chose a door and mailed my deposit the next morning. When the door came in from the manufacturer, I received a call and scheduled an installation date (which I had to change twice because of matters on my end, and about which they were extremely gracious). When the door was finally to be installed, the crew arrived promptly and got to work installing the new motor, tracks and door. Nathan was outstanding, as was the other technician, and all went quickly and smoothly. Now here is where I think real class was shown--- after the door was installed, Nathan noticed a barely perceptilbe, minuscule imperfection on the edge of one of the panels. I certainly didn't see it and wouldn't have seen it had it not been pointed out to me, and I'm pretty fussy. By the time he pointed it out, Nathan had already called it in to the office and a replacement panel was ordered from the manufacturer! He said Pioneer would call to schedule installation of the replacement as soon as they received it, and they did! Again the technicians (Ryan and another one) showed up on time and were great. They installed a touchpad for me as well. I could not be happier with the final product or the service. The only reason I'm giving Pioneer Door an A is because there isn't a higher rating on Angie's List. On a scale of 1- 10, Pioneer Door is a 15!!!!

It could not have gone better! Ryan fixed both of our garage door mounts - they are old wood garage doors that are beautiful and suit our house but the hardware was old and had just given up - needed to be replaced and reworked. Ryan was on time, knowledgeable, friendly, hard-working and able to address exactly what we wanted addressed without pushing us to do more - (which is what we experienced with previous garage door companies). It was so refreshing to deal with such a straight-forward individual who knows his stuff, does quality work and offers very competitive pricing for services!

I chose this company from Angie's list because they had received consistently great reviews from customers. They deserve every great review they got and they can add this one to it. They were responsive, professional and installed a silent, efficient, system , did it quickly and charged a fair price.

We bought our house last year. During the escrow process the door lift broke and the seller's agent hired a sketchy company to replace the lift. After that, the door never shut correctly--it usually bounced up three or fours times before it would completely shut. We were annoyed with that, and finally found Pioneer Door on Angie's List. I called them and was able to schedule an appointment in advance for Christmas week when we would be home from work. They were super nice on the phone. Spencer came to our house for the repair. He kindly called to let us know he was on the way. He immediately identified the problem--bad wiring was the cause of the problem--and corrected it. He also did a check of the rest of the door, beams, etc. He wasn't here long, maybe about 15 minutes. Now the door shuts properly each time--no more annoyances. Well worth the $95 visit.

Our wood garage doors were 30 years old and needing to be replaced. After getting estimates from three companies, we chose Pioneer because (1) they offered the best price on high-quality Amarr doors, and (2) they had excellent reviews on Angie's List. To be honest, at first we were a little hesitant because Ryan, who did the measuring & estimate, wasn't terribly helpful about explaining our options. He handed us a brochure but didn't show us door samples or give us any additional information to help us make our choices. If it hadn't been for the previous two estimates, we wouldn't have had a clue what we needed or wanted. Ryan was a nice guy, just not very helpful. (Hence the "B" for Professionalism) The office staff was great at communicating with us and keeping us in the loop regarding installation date and time. On the morning of the installation, Nathan called ahead of time to let us know he was on his way. We had one 2-car and one 1-car garage door installed. We opted for the steel-back 3000 Heritage series for the superior insulation. We also chose doors with decorative windows. We love having windows and the natural light they let in! The doors are beautiful and quiet and give our house an updated look. Nathan also installed a new belt-drive garage door opener on the 2-car side and reinstalled one of our old openers on the 1-car side. The new motor is so quiet--we love it! Nathan was a meticulous worker. He and his assistant were well-mannered, careful, and clean, and they left everything spotless when the job was finished. We couldn't be happier with the doors, the installers, and the office staff. We highly recommend Pioneer Door!

They were a great company. They came and talked to us, ordered the door and put it in. We got a pretty good door. We went with them because they were great. We liked everything about them. Their service was good. The guy that came out wasn’t pushy. He let us choose what we wanted but he guided us to it. The people that came out to put in the door in were really great. Everything was all nice and clean when they left. We were happy with them. They explained all the guarantees and explained how it worked. The price was fine. The quality was another reason why we choose them. They were very responsive. They were perfect, on time. They were very professional.

Daniel was the only provider that actually came out and looked at the job before he gave me a quote. Our property is 45 years old and had original wood doors that were rotted, so I wanted someone to look at the structure around the doors and tell me if it had to be replaced. Daniel did that and said they could do the trim for us at the same time they installed the doors! The installer (I forget his name) did a fantastic job but I felt very sorry for him. The company sent him out by himself and he had to remove two double wood doors without any help??? That guy worked like a dog for 9 hours before he was finished and they looked beautiful when they were done. We had one small glitch in that one of the chains that lifts the doors was twisted and about a week later it snapped. Pioneer came out right away and replaced it and I haven't had any trouble since. They seem to be a great company and are very responsive to customers.

Spencer is outstanding. And so is your agent on the phone. They answered my inquiry; called me back; gave me a time. Spencer called 15 minutes ahead of time and showed up right on time. He did a great job. I am very impressed with the focus everyone has on the customer!

I made the mistake of closing the garage door without making sure that the path was clear. After searching for about an hour I found Pioneer Door Inc. They came out as expected ontime and fixed the door in about 10 minutes. The tech even did a quick tune up of the door and was done very quickly. He knew exactly how to fix the issue right away just by looking at it and I'm not certain that others would have done the same without trying to sell me more stuff. I will definitely keep this number in the phonebook.

Repairmen was on time, was fast at work to assess the issue and had our door repaired and serviced professionally and seamlessly. Will use them again for sure!

Pioneer door is the real deal. They replaced my door hinges and opener. It all works perfectly. Could not be happier.

Alan came out to look at the job, took all the measurements and said he would get back to me the next day. Sure enough,he did. I was looking to get a roll up door (like you see in a storage unit). He gave me two prices, one for the door I was thinking about and one for a sectional garage door. In talking about the two options, he said a roll up door would require two men to install and some additional framing would be needed. If I went with the sectional door, one man could install it in the existing opening and it would match my existing garage door and it would be $300.00 cheaper. Being as I'm retired and fairly frugal I chose the second option. When the door came in Alan called to set up a date and time to have the job done. His Installer Michael called said he'd be here the next day and showed up exactly on time. Real nice guy, got right to work and didn't stop until the job was done. Very professional. The door was even better than I was planning on and really made a difference in the look of my garage/shed area. I would really like to thank Alan for working with me and all his suggestions. If anyone asks I would highly recommend Pioneer Door for any garage or exterior door needs. Thanks-- Dan

Pioneer Door Inc is the best!! I had them install a new garage door in January, and there were a couple of small issues afterward (nothing to do with installation), and each and every time they have been amazing, friendly, and never charging for additional labor, and have always sent someone to my home that same day. They did their best servicing my old door opener previously, and finally it was just time to replace. They came out right away, showed me my options, including seeing if it was still possible to repair my old opener. Decided to go with a new model. They had all the equipment with them, and were done (including clean up) in just over an hour. They had some lower priced options, but I needed the additional features with the model I selected. Its refreshing to work with a company that stands behind their products and labor, no questions asked. I will continue to use them in the future and recommend them to all.

We needed a motor replacement for our garage door so I called to get information from Pioneer on the screw drive motor. I spoke with Diane last Saturday morning. She was very helpful and knowledgeable, and the price was reasonable, so I decided not to shop around or do price comparisons. Diane was able to arrange the job on the same day, and that sealed the deal. Ryan came out even earlier than scheduled (which was perfect), and did a great job. While he got everything working perfectly and we were able to use the door with the new motor, there were two things that he came back to finish the following weekend. The electric cord wasn't long enough without an extension, and he didn't have a wire long enough to mount the the wall unit without splicing two pieces of wire. I appreciated that he was happy and willing to do the best job possible even though it meant an extra trip. Ryan came back today, changed out and lengthened the electrical cord (and brought a white cord to match the walls) and installed the wall unit (also using an all-white line). I've very happy with the work, the responsiveness and the professionalism.

I needed to get a new garage door installed for my parents house. I contacted three companies for estimates and all three estimates were very similar. Pioneer Door was the last company that I met with. They sent over Spencer to give me an estimate. Spencer took measurements and described what needed to get done in order to install the new door. Since the old garage door was over 30 years old extra work on the frame was required before the new door could be installed. Spencer then went over the different types of garage doors and openers that were available. He left a written estimate of all the work including the extra work for the garage door frame. The estimate was not the cheapest of the three, but Spencer's professional and genuine interest in this project gave me the confidence to go with his company. I scheduled the installation for March 7th. Nathan called me the day before to confirm my appointment. The following day Nathan showed up and started working on the project. The project took a little bit longer than he anticipated, but he did a superb job. Nathan was very professional, he even asked me if it was ok for him to listen to his music (country music) while he worked. His work is very clean, the wiring and conduit setup could not have been done better. Before he left he wiped down the door and swept up the work area, he left it better than when he started. I am very please with the quality of work that Pioneer Door provided. I would definitely hire them again.

James, the installer, called 15 minutes prior to his scheduled time to inform me he was on the way. He arrived on time and completed the job in the specified time. He did a very excellent job and cleaned up everything. The entire experience was flawless. They more than lived up to every promise they made and I highly recommend this company.
