+ 4 moreHe came highly recommended. I got proposals by two other companies and I opted to go with him. His name is Anton Bucher and he is licensed in southern California. I am very impressed with him. He went over the pros and cons of different designs and materials, which nobody else did. I signed a contract yesterday. I went online and checked the Better Business Bureau before I signed the contract. He is prompt and always shows up on time. I have every confidence in him. He wasn't the lowest bid but he explained so many things. He explained the differences in materials and the two ways of designing a shower stall, which I didn't know but it enabled me to make the best choice. None of the other contractors mentioned these things to me. He is going to start on Saturday. He said it would take 2 1/2 weeks to do the work. He has been out twice so far. His price was in the middle but I liked his explanations. I called his references and I got glowing reports on him. He and his references have invited me to come and see his work. I called two of the six references that he gave me.
Description of Work: I got an estimate from Service 1st General Contracting and he is going to demolish my master bathroom and rebuild it. It includes shower stall, floors, toilet and walls. He is going to rip it all out because I had some water damage with wood rot and mold. He is tearing everything out and replacing everything. He is ripping out the flooring and sub-flooring, one tiled shower and replacing a toilet. He is tearing it out to review wood rot and any mold under the flooring. He is going to rebuild the shower and replace the sub- flooring including any joists and studs that need to be replaced because of rot or mold. The toilet and shower are behind a door in a small place. He is ripping out all of the flooring in the whole bathroom. He is putting a new kind of material that is absolutely waterproof. He is going to put porcelain tile flooring. He is going to replace all the drywall that needs to be replaced. He is also putting in a fan where there is not a fan now.
