After the wall was demoed, which took 6 man-hours at our house, but still cost $900 (Explanation: "Outside of what was done at the house, there was setup, driving, debris had to be driven to Irvine, etc."), we noticed the wall was demoed down to the same level as the adjacent patio. Well how would *anyone* pour a new concrete floor there? It was obvious the demo needed to be deeper, below patio level, so everything would be flush. My husband texted with a picture to show what was deficient. There was no response for a week. We then each called and left voicemail. Finally Ralph & his wife came by. He agreed the demo was incomplete if we wanted to pour a floor, but he said he didn't know about that & we didn't ask him to demo further down. We had to ask? He knew we were going to pour a floor because it was part (b) of the original Estimate #1. He then said it would cost $200 additional to deepen the demo by 3-4 inches. Finally we were then given detailed advice (almost condescending "You'll learn a valuable skill!") on how to do the remaining demo work ourselves - in spite of our obvious disappointment he wasn't going to do it for $0 additional cost *and* our statement that the reason we hired him in the 1st place was because we don't have the time/tools & it should be quicker for him to do it vs. us. A very disappointing and incomplete experience for us.

Most of the other companies I called and emailed didn't respond. The ones I did talk to gave me phone estimates that were more than I wanted to spend, or were too busy to discuss and take on a small job. I talked to Vivian on the phone several times - she was kind and patient with my questions. Ralph came out to look at my patio. I like the look of wood, so he suggested a plank pattern saw-cut onto the concrete. It looks amazing! Ralph explained everything, did great work, and he was considerate and friendly and great to work with. I am very happy with everything about working with the Brisenos.

We just finished a drainage and concrete project with Ralph Briseno Concrete, and couldn't have been more pleased. From the initial bid through completion, the project went off without a hitch. Ralph is on the job himself, working alongside his skilled crew. He is extremely detailed, thorough and honest, and handled every issue that arose; rain, late dumpsters, missing city inspectors, etc., efficiently. He had a back up plan for every possible situation. It rained 3 times in the 2 week span of our project, and his crew diligently tarped off the whole side yards and driveway expansion each time, so our pouring wouldn't be delayed. The city was supposed to deliver a dumpster he had paid for during the re-grading. While it was delayed several hours, he loaded up his truck with excess soil and hauled it to the dump himself. I could go on, but these exemplify the level of customer service and work quality he delivers. He explained every aspect of the project in detail, gave us options to suit our budget and went above and beyond in every way. His office manager, Vivian, is also in constant contact with project updates. I would highly recommend him for any drainage or concrete project, you will not be disappointed.

I had called 3 different contractors for an estimate. Ralph wasn't the cheapest, but I honestly believe he was the best! Ralph, by far, was the most detailed, most engaged. He took extra time with me to explain, to educate, to provide solutions/options. He was detailed in his measuring, in his analysis.... got down on his hand/knees to look at all the cracks/crevices of my existing patio needing repair. He really took the time to understand the situation and thereby present the best options. (I've since learned that the 'cheapest' guy can often be the one 'cutting corners'). I ultimately made my decision based upon who I felt I would want to have on site in the event problems arose while breaking into exiting concrete. I knew he was not the kind of guy/company that took 'shortcuts' and that there would be no 'cutting corners' with his work. I knew he was all about 'quality of work' -- and fortunately, my 'gut instinct' was spot-on accurate! Ralph and his team were top notch! On-time, clean, clean, clean and very very good at communication (his wife/Office Manager kept me informed the entire way). This is a TEAM of true professionals! Each person involved in my 'project/job' demonstrated quality and 'customer service'. Ralph R. Briseno Concrete is an A+ in my book!

I hired Ralph to put a new patio in the front of my house. Ralph came out and spent like an hour and a half going over every possible scenario with me. We came up with a really great design together. Ralph ALWAYS showed up on time and clearly cares very much about the quality of his work. He would forsee problems and make sure they were addressed before any concrete was laid. We ended up including electrical outlets in three different areas. This is almost my favorite part! Except the seat walls. Which are just perfect too. He even came up with a brilliant way to hide my sprinkler valves. He built a wall around them and then covered it with two removable squares of concrete. We even put our handprints in these removable squares so we can take them with us if we ever leave this house. What I love most about working with Ralph is the fact that it is a family business. His wife Vivian handles the paperwork and shows up on the job site regularly to help out. His (adult) children are also involved in the business and are really nice and also do an amazing job. You will not regret hiring Ralph. I am VERY picky when it comes to hiring people to do work around my house -- and I literally don't have anything bad to say about the product, the skill level, the work ethic, or the price. :-)

They were prompt, showed up when promised and finished when promised. Very professional.
