My Handyman Randy

Start to finish everything went great. Rob's an A+: demo, electrical, recessed lighting, flush mount mirror, toilet relocation, framing, tub...we took it to the studs and now have anew bathroom that looks and functions great. A few people have left negative feedback based on not receiving call backs. My experience has been fantastic. Rob's a busy guy in high demand because he does great work. When he is on your job, he does not step away to take calls, he sticks to the job at hand. This is what you want from your contractor. Conversely, he always returns my calls/emails same day. Thanks for everything Rob!

Rob was very nice and neat. Love my closets and lighting! The patching Rob did matches the old wall and ceiling perfectly.. And the shower and other faucets.are working the way they should.

He did a tremendous job, he was here several days. He was so careful putting plastic down to not get anything on my carpet. He did excellent work, I couldn't give a better recommendation for anybody.

Rob did a great job. He is reliable, honest and is very personable. He came to my house and gave me a quote very promptly after I called him. He stuck to that quote even though the job took much longer and was more difficult than expected. He even noticed a pipe leaking under the house and advised me to get a plumber right away, which I did, and it turned out that there was a crack in a drain pipe which would have eventually caused a big mess under the house. It was a pleasure doing business with Rob and I hope to get him back soon to do some additional work around my home.

It went GREAT ! Rob is a TRUE professional! I would 100% recommend him. He was someone I trusted immediately (because of his consistency, his attention to detail, his follow-through, his time management, his cleanliness, his quality of work, etc.) I called several 'handyman' service providers and I'm glad I ultimately chose going with Rob. There are no surprises with him or the service he provides. He stays true to his word...keeps you updated along the way and immediately responds with invoicing, etc. I would absolutely recommend him!

He never showed up for the appointment which he made with me and never called with an explanation If he didn't want the job, he should have said so. This is inexcusable for anyone and especially a professional. He is completely forgiven if he was in a car accident and in the hospital.

This is the second time we have used Rob for work on our house and once again he did not disappoint. Rob is very professional, on time, cleans up and his work is excellent. We highly recommend Rob for any handyman work you may need. The day after Rob did this work we realized that the patio curtains were touching the ground a tiny bit and they needed to be raised a tad. Rob came back the next day on SUNDAY to make the adjustments! He really cares about his customers and can be counted on every time.

Update: After posting this review, Rob contacted me and asked if he could come out asap and replace the missing corner piece. He explained that he thought he was doing me a favor by pulling the treated boards since they had small holes in them. We can agree to disagree on this point, but I think regardless, for the future it would be best to ask before doing something like that. He installed the corner piece quickly and the color doesn't match but I can touch it up. I thanked him for coming out again and he left in a huff. -------------------------------------------------------------- I asked Rob to come out and replace a small section of wood laminate that had rotted due to toilet leaking. I already had the toilet removed, so this should have been a super quick job. Rob took out the rotten boards and found termites, so we agreed that he would stop for the day and come back after the termite service had treated the area to finish installing. The termite inspector told me it would have been much better to leave the termite droppings so he could see where they came from and if they spread out beyond the small area under the boards, which I did not know. Wish Rob had thought of this but he cleaned up, which was fine. So the termite inspector drilled and treated some of the surrounding boards and that was that. Rob then came back the next day and proceeded to REMOVE THE TREATED BOARDS. WHY?! I have no idea why he would leave the two boards to be treated and then tear them out without even asking. I was upstairs working and didn't realize until I came down for coffee and it was too late. So I just left it alone and let him finish up, which took about 3 hours longer than he predicted. Also fine. At the end, he was showing me everything and he had lost a small part of the baseboard and couldn't replace it. So now there's a gap in the baseboard. He charged me an extra $50 for coming out again, which I shouldn't have paid, and promised to come back and replace the small piece of baseboard. It's been over two weeks and I did email and give him a chance to come out before writing this review. |Would not hire again. Ask before you pull up treated boards and do what you say you're going to do, especially if the customer pays the extra you ask for without complaining.

Rob was very courteous and professional. His craftsmanship was excellent. He explained how he performed his repairs, highlighting some of the unique characteristics of our house. His results were so good that we cannot tell where his repairs begin and end. We were so pleased we called him back for other work about one month later. This time, we needed him to trim the bottoms of our interior doors to accommodate a thicker pile of carpet we were installing. This job was also outstanding.

Rob is an excellent handyman. I'm selling my home (in escrow) and had a list of repairs to be completed before the close of escrow. He completed all of the repairs in a matter of a few hours. I'm very pleased because I have hired other handymen in the past....all of which were awful! But, Rob is excellent. I will refer Rob to all of my family and friends because I know he is top notch!

No response is very unprofessional. If he is too busy to do our job, then an automatic email reply would be sufficient to let me know I should call someone else. He's not the only one - I called two other handymen the same day and didn't get responses from them either.

Excellent! I've been looking for a reliable, qualified, and licensed handyman for a while, and I've now found him. I will definitely call Rob again.

All work was top quality, Rob pleasantly addressed every concern, offered ideas and ways to do a better job (even if it was less for him). Rob was able to assist by coordinating with other tradesmen (electrical, drywall, carpeting, painting and plumbing) and assisted in assuring all work was done in the most expeditious manner such that work was completed on schedule without unnecessary delays. Rob worked quickly without any delays and was very upfront with all expenses, no surprises!

Rob showed up on a Saturday, looked at the bathroom and gave us a good estimate. We decided to have him do the work the following week. He worked with our schedules and came over to the house at the agreed upon time. He estimated four to five hours work and it took him about four hours and thirty minutes to do the job and clean up the work site. He removed the old exhaust fan, cut out an opening for the new fan's housing, fitted the vent with new ventilation hose and carefully taped every seam. He also wired the new fan into the existing switch and tested everything. After affixing the fan he cut and placed new drywall around the opening. His drywall work is quite nicely done and he gave me some pointers on how to prime and paint the repaired area after the mud has dried. Me painting the area was agreed upon before the work started. I'm not completely helpless. Rob set out drop clothes for the floor and he placed furniture pads on the bathroom countertop to make sure nothing was damaged. He cleaned the area thoroughly and set out the construction trash by the bin. He was meticulous. Rob is a very pleasant and professional person. He never seemed rushed or preoccupied with other work. He was focused on the job and did high quality work. I would highly recommend him for any handyman work or construction work around your house.

Angie's List suggested we use their concierge service and I'm glad we did. Meredith got right to work finding us someone near our home that could install our new toilet the next day. Rob from My Handyman Randy came at the appointed time the next morning, installed the toilet without a hitch. He was very pleasant, professional and the toilet is working just fine. We found the price very competitive and the best thing for us was Rob lives very close by and is a general contractor. We will definitely use him again for other jobs that are always popping up. We couldn't be more pleased.

I asked for a quote for a small electrical job. Rob returned my call quickly, and did the work the next day. He ended up charging me less than the quoted price, and the job was done quickly and well.

It went well. He arrived within the time frame he gave me. Rob fixed.....reattached the the right side of the fan. He was personable and competent and reasonable.

I contacted Randy for a bid on replacing wood on my home before I had my house painted. Out of the five people I contacted for bids Randy responded right away and said that his business consists of only himself and my house would require at least two men to do the job and that he was sorry he couldn't take the job. It just impressed me that he was considerate enough to return my reply so promptly even though he could have not responded at all since he knew he couldn't do the job. I will be using him on smaller jobs in the future just because he showed a good customer ethic. Thanks, Randy

'Rob is the best! I contacted him about a week befoe the work was to begin. He worked with our schedule time frame. We needed some work done at different times so he will return to complete other items. He was punctual and dependable. Communication was clear and he was extremely accessible. At the start of each day he gave us a run down if what he planned to accomplish that day. He gave us the receipts for materials he bought. We couldn't be happier with his work.

I called Rob for an emergency repair, since I had company arriving this weekend. He offered to squeeze me in, showed up right on time and was able to remove the damaged frame and install the new one - works like a charm. The price was very reasonable considering the last-minute nature of the request. He was very professional and even disposed of the damaged frame for me. it was my first time using him, and I will definitely use him for future jobs.

When I found Randy on the list, I called him. He answered my call. After I explained what help I needed, he told me was in the middle of some work and would call me back in two hours. Next day, mid morning I got a call saying he got caught up in his work etc. He would call me back two days later, on Thursday and set up an appointment. Thursday came and went, but no word from Randy. Today is afternoon on monday, but who cares? I am already talking to other reliable people. I suggest you find some one who keeps his word. That way you can also sure they will be doing the work for you that you want and expect, no excuses. .
