GUTTERMASTERS INC

Guttermasters came out and installed gutters on the back of our home in November 2006. After the first rain my husband said that they were not installed properly that they leak.My husband asked me to call and have them come out and correct the problem.I must take responsibility for the fact that I didn't call until quite awhile after the fact. When I did call they sent someone out and said the reason they leak is we have leaves in the gutters. I had explained before on the phone that they were leaking from the first rain.At that point he started yelling at me and said they charge to clean out leaves. The reason I am writing this review today is aside from leaking they are also pulling away from my two story home and I would never consider calling guttermaster if they were the last company on earth.I am glad we have joined Angies list so we can avoid bad contractors in the future.

It went very, very , well.

We are in the middle of a remodel. When new roof was installed, the built-in rain gutters were removed. We had planned to postpone the installation of new gutters, but now the new tile on the front porch is subject to staining from the dripping roof, even from the morning fog this time of year. So, we need new gutters for that area in a hurry. I scheduled an estimate and was given 4-hour window of time. SInce I'm still without a kitchen, I took a chance on a 15-min trip to pick up food. Coincidentally and unbeknownst to me, that's when he came, measured, and left. So, I missed a chance to meet them and ask a number of questions. Later I received a call advising the estimate was being emailed. That's when I found out I missed him. I told them I still had a number of questions, including one from their website that said "other shapes available." The man on the phone deferred the call to the estimator who wasn't interested in answering my questions, and instead directed me to their website which I already had reviewed. He told me we needed to cut down the tree in front of the eaves. I said "You mean cut it back?" He repeated that the tree needed to be cut down for them to install the gutter. He said he wasn't coming out again until after I cut down the tree. When told him I wasn't going to cut down the tree, he said "Have a nice day," and hung up on me.

I've lived in my house over 20 years and last winter's rains reminded me of some problem areas with my gutter system. I'd heard favorable comments about this company from a couple roofers, so I was surprised and disappointed by their refusal to address my needs. The office contact person was helpful and responsive, but the person who came to give me a quote was not. I tried to explain which of my gutters worked fine and which likely needed to be reconfigured or replaced. But he only expressed interest in replacing all my gutters. When I asked why, he became irritated and said I was "trying to nickel and dime him." I said "I don't think this is going to work out," and he abruptly left.

Did not come for appointment.

Work was performed in a timely manner. Installers were pleasant and performed their work efficiently and on date promised.

ONE PHONE ESTIMATOR CAME OUT. SCHEDULED FOR TWO WEEKS LATER. CAME OUT PER SCHEDULE. INSTALL 1/2 DAY. NO PROBLEMS.
