In march of 2012 my mother's heater was not working properly and so Goodfella's Plumbing and heating came out and said she needed a new heater.(don't know that to be true) On March 20,2012 Goodfella's Plumbing and Heating sold my 88 yr old mother a (new) heater. Upon a recent inspection from another heating company, it was pointed out to me that it was not a new 2012 heater but a 2007 heater with no warranty or informational guide book(which guide book was found later inside the heater. My mother paid $2850.00 for a 2007(alleged new) heater with no warranty or guide book. I bought another heater(2012) from a ruputable heating company for $3,100.00 for another place and have a 10 yr warranty. I live back east and it is difficult to monitor people like Goodfella's who knowingly provided an out dated heater with no warranty to the elderly and then charge her an unfair price. Again I will state I believe warranties are required. Goodfella send a 5 page xerox copy of an owner's information, wherein it states that this warranty pertains to products manufactured on or after August l, 2011. So where is my warranty for the 2007 that they sold me??? And most warranties after 5 yrs are nonexistent. So I will never have a warranty because it doesn't exist now. What really upsets me is that my mother has limited funds. I have to help support her. I trust people, like her caregivers to do and take care of her. When a service providers (such as Goodfellas) comes in and sees the opportunity to overcharge and deliver out dated merchandise to the elderly, its beyond me how in good conscious people can be so cruel and deliberate!
Description of Work: On March 20, 2012, Goodfella's Plumbing and Heater sold my 88 yr old mother an alleged(new) 2007 heater with no warranty or guide book for the amount of $2850.00. They never indicated that my mother was receiving a 2007 heater. She assumed she was getting a 2011 or 2012 heater. They left no warranty or guide booklet. The invoice was written poorly with little information. No model #, no serial #. Then when contacting them they said they would come out and then didn't and stated they did nothing wrong. I understand that it is a state law to provide warranty on new items such as a heater.
