+ -1 moreMike arrived before scheduled time and was able to quickly diagnose the problem. He gave us an estimate and started the repair. There is a security screen door installed in front of the sliding door so the repair was done without the door being taken out of the frame. The rollers were replaced quickly and the door is now working correctly.

Description of Work: We had a patio sliding door that was almost impossible to open. Initial contact by email on 9/23 then phone. Michael set the appointment for 9 AM on Monday 9/28. He arrived on time and 15 minutes later the door was fixed. It made my wife's day. We highly recommend this company.

Description of Work: I called Traks R Us because I needed screen doors for my sliding doors in the kitchen and dining room. I called this company instead of just a screen company because I had been told in the past that my tracks might need to be replaced. Mike came out, examined my tracks and told me they were fine and did not need to be replaced. I showed him the sliding glass door in the dining room that we had been unable to open more than a foot or so for the past several years. He was able to fix that and now it slides so easily. He informed me the door in the kitchen wasn't sliding properly either. It seemed fine to me, but I told him to go ahead. After he fixed it, I could see the difference. It slid more easily and didn't make the noise it had been making. I'd had that noise for so many years,it never occurred to me that it wasn't supposed to do that. Mike measured for the screens and came back the next week with them. One of my doors isn't standard size, so he had to order the parts. I asked him about a problem I'd had with my new shower doors. Water was coming out from under the doors and oozing beneath the track. He lowered the doors for me and sealed around the tracks. Water is not oozing under anymore. I still have a some water splashing under the door, but he lowered the doors as low as they can go. The problem is the design of the shower. I really appreciate that he made that effort for me. Mike was pleasant and personable and I would definitely call him again and highly recommend him to anyone needing these kinds of services.

+ -1 moreI needed nearly every screen door replaced and the sliding doors fixed on both the outside of the house as well as many of the closet sliding doors on the inside. Mike came out on Thursday, April 3 and replaced all the sliding door wheels, cleaned cleaned all the tracks, replaced or fixed all the screen doors, and repaired all the sliding mirror doors inside the house. It was quite a bit of work. There were five screen doors that needed to be fixed and the glass doors behind them, as well as three sliding mirror doors inside the house. All of these were heavy, and the dining room doors are oversize. Mike get a great job. Everything works correctly and opens with ease. The new latches he installed work great. Very professional job. Very happy with the work.

On the phone, I told him the problem my door was having and he explained two different solutions and included estimates. (He charged the lower estimate). We scheduled an appointment for later that week. The day of the appointment, he showed up earlier than scheduled, was great to talk to while he worked and he took care of the job in about 30-40 minutes! He was great. We will definitely recommend him to our family and friends and will use him in the future if need be!

Cleaned up what he messed up and left everything as he found it. He did not ask to leave the trash with us, he took it with him. He is a busy man which I can believe from the work he did so you may have to call twice to get him. We did play a bit of telephone tag, not all on him as we are busy too. Once we made contact and set things up, he met his commitments, arrived timely and was great to work with. His work is outstanding. Will use him whenever we need service like this again.
Description of Work: Screen door track was broken which was also affecting the sliding patio door. Others that had come to look at what could be done told us that we would have to replace the frame as there was no way to fix it. Mike Borders not only fixed the broken frame but also the lock which had not worked for years. Once he was done the sliding patio and screen doors worked like new.

+ 0 moreMichael Broders called me back the same day I left a message at his number. He set up an appointment for first thing the next morning. He arrived exactly on time. He was professional and personable. He removed the sliding glass patio doors from two rooms, expertly removed the broken old plastic rollers, and replaced them with double metal rollers. He also replaced the rollers on the screen doors for both patio doors. He determined that the tracks did not need to be replaced, which showed that he was honest and wasn't inflating the work to make extra money. He worked quickly and accurately. He cleaned up everything well. The heavy doors with double pane glass now glide like new! I'm very pleased with his work. The price for fixing two patio doors and two sliding screens was a fraction of what a new door and installation would have cost. Although I wish it cost less, I realize that I paid for his expertise, experience, competence, and professionalism. I would definitely call him again and refer him to personal friends.

+ -1 moreWhen I tried the sliding glass door, I could open with a finger and told him and quot;I should have done it a long time ago! It is excellent!and quot; He replied and quot;Everyone said so.and quot; It's well worth $400. I was very lucky to find him.
Description of Work: On 5-2-11 Monday night, I called him and got a call back right away, and he came to my house the following morning at 7:15 am and he was done by 8:30 am including cleaning up. The original estimate to install new rollers on my kitchen sliding glass door size 8'x4' was $150. When he looked at the rollers that were almost gone due to too small for the heavy glass sliding door. He recommended to install a new track for $400 which I agreed because the track was also damaged. He knew I had to go to work after he's done so he worked quickly like a machine by removing the old damaged track and replaced rollers of the sliding glass door. I was actually worried when he removed two sliding glass doors and track, the area looked like pre-construction site. By 8:30 am, he was done installing a new track, rollers, even adjusted the screen door hook and cleaned up.

The only problem is that it they don't line up with my screen door. I can't lock the screen door. I had him come back and he let me pay over a two month period of time. He said the patio and screen door never line up. The doors slide really nice. He was personable and nice. He arrived on time and cleaned up his mess. He was professional.

IT WASN'T NECESSARY TO CHANGE TO A NEW GLASS DOOR BECAUSE THAT WAS VERY EXPENSIVE. IT HAS WORKED PERFECTLY SINCE THEN. ONLY HIS PRICE WAS TOO HIGH FOR THE SCREEN DOOR. HE ALSO CHANGED MY SCREEN DOOR WHICH WAS OUT OF ORDER, AND HE DID A GOOD JOB. IT FIT PERFECTLY. HE CAME AND CHECKED THE MEASUREMENTS AND CAME A FEW DAYS LATER WITH A NEW DOOR.
