I would love to provide a positive review, however, while I asked for an estimate, I never received a call. I think it would be wonderful if a contractor was too busy (that's good for him/her) that someone call to say that rather than the inquirer waiting around for a call. Just a thought.
Description of Work: Nothing as I never received the courtesy of a return call.

The project started out good. John's initial estimates were very reasonable. His workmanship was good but punctuality was not. He was barely working 20 hrs per week as he was attending other jobs at the same time. Partly because of this, we had to live in a demolished construction zone for weeks in freezing winter time. John seemed to have no empathy. About half way through the project we discovered that the new HVAC which was supposed to go into the attic could not go there because of building codes. John should have known this before hand but did not. The HVAC replacement was not a part of the initial scope of the project and was not needed at all. It was only added later on as moving it to the attic would have freed up closet space in the hallway. This was about $6000 worth of expense that was otherwise unnecessary, John did not know the building code (this was proved on numerous occasions) and the inspector did not approve the relocation of the furnace in the attic. This was a major setback financially for both of us. From that point onwards in the project John was simply looking for opportunities to make up the 'lost' money. He made things seem more difficult than what they actually were. He installed things in a aesthetically unpleasant way (or with complete disregard to what I would request) seemingly just to tick me off. In the end he charged me thousands of dollars in 'materials and extra work' that should have been only a fraction there of. It's a pity that John resorted to these tactics (to nickel and dime) rather than just biting the bullet and providing excellent customer service. I liked his workmanship and would have hired him again or recommended him to friends and colleagues but after this experience, I'm afraid I can't do that.

He is very thorough and his superintendent was right into the core of the business that ran everything with it. He was very personable and complete. His price is lower than anything else I got; it was worth the money.
Description of Work: John Belanger Construction is my general contractor. He worked on my house. I had a complete remodel done so I am the builder owner and he was the general that I employed for the supervision.

John showed up at 8am on a Sunday to fix our many plumbing problem. There was an odor coming from the pipes that stunk up the entire house, the disposal side of the sink spit its remnant into the other sink, and it would drain into the other sink first before draining. 8 hours and 3 trips to Home Depot later, John had replaced most of the plumbing under 2 sinks, some minor plumbing under a 3rd sink and installed a new dishwasher. Everything looked wonderful! He was professional AND polite the entire time. While the smell is not gone, he is coming back out to check under the house, the rest of the problems are completely resolved. We were very pleased with his services and will not hesitate to use him again.
Description of Work: Replaced all of the plumbing under the 2 kitchen sinks as well as the plumbing adjoining it under the patio sink. He also installed our new dishwasher.

John is great. His work product is outstanding. Very nicely installed, clean, just what you'd want. He makes sure everything is cleaned up at the end of the job. He is also very reasonably priced and has a broad knowledge of building trades. He also doesn't and quot;change orderand quot; you do death... He gives a price and sticks to it. Very honest and trustworthy. I will definitely use him in the future.
Description of Work: John has done a few small jobs for us. He installed electrical wiring and plumbing in our new barbecue island. He also repaired and refreshed some drywalling I had done.

We chose to hire John because he is local, is both a certified plumber and electrician, and did most of the work himself which kept his labor costs reasonable and within budget. His payment terms were more than fair. Once the job started, he came on-time, every day, until the job was finished. John completely transformed our bathroom from an ugly, sagging, outdated 1980s builder's grade bathroom to a clean, new, modern, drop-dead beautiful space. He gutted the bathroom and pulled up the subfloor, discovered why the bathroom floor was sagging, then fixed it. He also discovered a water leak under the floor around the toilet and fixed that so it would never happen again. He removed a fiberglass prefab tub/shower and replaced it with a real tub and shower. He hired a professional tile subcontractor who tiled the shower, floor, and a customized wall niche. John managed the subcontractor well, making sure he came back to fix a tiling problem that was discovered after the subcontractor was finished and gone. He turned a useless corner of a bedroom closet into a usable storage space in the bathroom. He moved the sink plumbing so it would hide behind a modern floating vanity, and moved the lighting from over the vanity mirror to accommodate sconces on either side. He installed a customized wall niche into an area where an old medicine cabinet used to be. He not only painted and hung a new bathroom door, he also changed two bedroom doors so they would all match. He also replaced all the molding and baseboards and did all the painting. He was open to changes and did his best to fulfill them. He also made design suggestions that we hadn't originally considered. All in all, the job went smoothly and within the estimated timeframe and budget. We can't wait to hire him again for another project.
Description of Work: Completely renovated full 4-piece bathroom: demo'd entire bathroom; fixed sagging subfloor; moved plumbing; removed fiberglass pre-fab tub/shower and replaced it with a real tub and carerra marble tile and all new fixtures; replaced vanity and faucet, lighting, and exhaust fan; created two tiled wall niches and a 3-shelf storage closet; hung new door; replaced all baseboards and molding; completely painted everything; hung towel racks and T.P. holder.
