 + 1 moreI used Angies's List to get estimates from two other local painting contractors. Home Depot was $3800.00, Kevin's Painting was $1800.00, and Dream Painting was $1670.00 including materials. I decided to use Dream Painting, and added additional colors and work after the original estimate. The total job price is $2000.00 complete, and the estimate process was impressive. I also got a carpet and flooring estimate from Empire Today ($5230.00) for similar materials to Home Depot. Sid's Carpet Barn ($4511.00) was the best price for the same materials as Home Depot. I decided on Sid's and they ordered the materials after leaving a $1500.00 deposit. They said the materials would be available in two weeks from order date for installation. Home Depot total estimates : $9450.00 Others: $6511.00 I was really disappointed with the overall experience from Home Depot.
Description of Work: I have a 1500 sq ft. condo on three floors to do paint and flooring. It will be empty of all contents and furniture when the work is done. I had to look through the store to find someone to help me on two different visits. When I did find someone, they repeatedly had to leave to help other customers. I picked out new carpet, vinyl flooring, and paint and got free samples of the carpet and paint chips. I had to register to borrow the vinyl sample. Home Depot arranged for an estimator to come for the paint, and carpet. They dropped a $50.00 fee for a carpet estimate/measure due to the numerous interruptions. Two days later the paint estimator showed as scheduled. He arrived early and gave me an estimate of $3800.00 plus materials. I balked at that price and he dropped it to $3250.00, leaving me with a written estimate. The carpet estimator arrived on time five days later, and did an electronic measure. He completed it in less than an hour, and told me that Home Depot would get back to me with the estimate. Three days later I returned to the store to ask about the estimate, and I was told that it had just been completed. I was provided a printed $6100.00 estimate and I was told that it could be more due to additional material costs. I was advised that getting the materials once ordered would take a minimum of 20 business days (not including weekends).

 + -1 moreWE WERE HAPPY TO FIND OUT THAT THESE LOCKS REALLY DID WORK AND WE HAD SUCH GREAT HELP FROM HOME DEPOT WORKERS, IT WAS REALLY WONDERFUL. SO NOW IF WE NEED ANY MORE LOCKS WE KNOW WHERE TO GO.
Description of Work: WE NEEDED SOME CHILDPROOF LOCKS FOR MY NEPHEW, WHO TENDS TO GET INTO THINGS. SO WE BOUGHT THESE LOCKS TO PUT IN OUR GATES AND CABINETS.

 + -1 moreTHE DUPLICATES OF OUR KEYS TO OUR HOUSE WORKED GREAT. NOW EVERYONE THAT LIVES INSIDE OF OUR HOME CAN HAVE A KEY OF THEIR OWN, SO THEY CAN GET INTO THE HOUSE WHEN NEEDED.

 + -1 moreTHE KITCHEN AND BATH DESIGNER WAS WONDERFUL. SHE HAD LOTS OF GOOD IDEAS. SHE WASN'T TRYING TO SELL US ANYTHING WE DIDN'T WANT. SHE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB. THE COMPANY ITSELF WAS A VERY POSITIVE EXPERIENCE.

 + -1 moreAFTER I FINALLY GOT THE DOOR, EVERYTHING WAS FINE. THEY DELIVERED THE WRONG COLOR, AND THEY DIDN'T TELL ME I NEEDED TO BUY A DOORKNOB. WHEN THEY INSTALLED THE DEADBOLT, THEY FOUND OUT IT WAS DEFECTIVE, AND I HAD TO BUY ANOTHER ONE. THEY COULD HAVE BEEN A LITTLE MORE SPECIFIC ABOUT WHAT I NEEDED TO DO. THE PEOPLE WHO DID THE WORK WERE VERY FAST, AND THEY DID A GOOD JOB.
Description of Work: THEY DELIVERED AND INSTALLED A DOOR. AMOUNT ALSO INCLUDES THE PRICE OF THE DOOR.

 + -1 moreIT WAS GOOD. THEY CAME RIGHT IN AND TOOK CARE OF IT, AND THEY WERE DONE IN NOTHING FLAT. HOME DEPOT HAS THEIR OWN CREDIT, AND IF YOU BUY SOMETHING, YOU HAVE 12 MONTHS TO PAY IT OFF.
Description of Work: THEY LAID CARPET AND PADDING IN THE LIVING ROOM.
