+ -1 moreTheir pricing is the best we could find. They've been very helpful. We originally called them because we had squirrels in the attic. I could them in the morning and say that I heard scratching and within 24 hours, I have a technician here to deal with the problem. The people were great. They were very professional. They knew their business and knew exactly we asked questions. They give us suggestions.

+ -1 moreWe were using them in New Mexico and we have used them a couple of times here. We are on a subscription plan with them. They spray on the outside and the inside. We find them to be quite responsive and they seem to know as to what they are doing which is good because I don't. They were good overall with the one in New Mexico and they replaced a fellow who was an independent pest control person. He died and at that point we went on a subscription plan with them. They seem okay here but we really have not gotten to know them that well. The pricing is the same as it was in New Mexico. It is fair. We don't have any way of judging the quality of their work for as much of a pest problem there is. It is a new location and we have only been here for a couple of weeks. Their responsiveness is good and so is their punctuality. Their professionalism is good as well. We are sticking with them for now.

Description of Work: I called Orkin three times to obtain quotes for services and eventually to schedule an initial inspection for control of mice (evidenced by droppings in the attic). Each time I called I received a different account of which services I would receive. 1. The first person I talked to was unclear and gave me the impression that the initial visit would include closing up identified entry points for rodents as well as possibly clearing out rodent droppings. He told me a follow up visit would occur 3 days later to remove any rodents trapped in traps set during the initial visit. 2. The second person I talked to confirmed the first person's description of the services we would receive, especially confirming that rodent dropping spray and cleaning would be performed and entry points would be closed, both during the first visit. 3. The third person I talked to when I finally called to schedule the inspection told me that NO, cleaning would NOT be performed, and also that the subsequent visit would be 30 days later (not 3 days later as quoted by the first two representatives). Also, he did not seem to understand that traps set during the 1st visit would need to be cleared. He also spoke so fast that he talked over me while I was trying to ask questions...it was more marketing and advertising than customer service. It sounds like Orkin, or perhaps just their customer service department, suffers from organizational incompetence. We chose not to go with Orkin for this reason.

+ -1 moreI scheduled the appt. on Saturday via their website. I received a call on Sunday, and the service man was out two days later. He was professional, prompt and took the time to point out possible entry points to the roof via rose bushes and extending tree branches. He checked the attic and found no signs of mice/rodents but left me some free traps just in case.
Description of Work: I scheduled an inspection for a rodent/squirrel check in the attic after we heard scurrying noises one night.

+ -1 moreVisits were hit/miss. Technician hardly spoke English and could not communicate. Company warranties work for 30 days. Work completed in June, 2005, and now in March, 2006, I have rats again in crawlspace. Called company and they said "too bad", contract is up as well as warranty period. Would do nothing, not even a courtesy re-inspection. Told me I would have to sign a new contract to do the work again. They had no record of the work ever being done despite the fact that I faxed them the receipt. Overall experience was lousy and I would not recommend using this company again. This company is a "rip-off" artist!
Description of Work: Rat traps were set in crawl space and collected every four weeks. At the end of three months, crawl space was "rat proofed" by putting cheap steel wool in holes. Technician said that other areas of access had been blocked on inside, but I had no way of checking, since I was unable to go under the house into the crawl space.

+ -1 moreTHE SERVICE REP IS GREAT - VERY HELPFUL, AND FRIENDLY. HE HAS NOTICED THINGS THAT WE HAVEN'T YET BECOME AWARE OF, AND PROACTIVELY DEALT WITH THEM BEFORE THINGS GOT OUT OF HAND. HE ALWAYS CHECKS IN WITH US BEFORE SPRAYING, AND ASKS WHAT, IF ANYTHING, NEW IS HAPPENING IN AND OUTSIDE OUR HOME.
Description of Work: ORKIN HAS BEEN COMING TO OUR HOME MONTHLY FOR OVER A YEAR. WE INITIALLY CALLED THEM FOR AN ANT PROBLEM, AND NOW USE THEM FOR MAINTENANCE WITH RESPECT TO ANTS AND SPIDERS.

+ -1 moreTHE SERVICE THAT I RECEIVE FROM THIS COMPANY IS O.K. EVERY MONTH THE SERVICE GUY COMES OUT AND TRIES TO GET RID OF THE ANTS, BUT THEY CONTINUOUSLY COME BACK AND HAUNT ME. THE PRICE IS ALRIGHT.

+ -1 moreORKIN HAS ALWAYS BEEN GREAT TO DEAL WITH. IF A PROBLEM FLARES UP BETWEEN SERVICES, THEY WILL COME OUT AND REDO THE WORK. IF NECESSARY THEY WILL SPRAY INSIDE THE HOUSE, OTHERWISE THEY PERFORM JUST THE OUTSIDE WORK.
Description of Work: ORKIN HAS COME OUT ONCE A MONTH TO PERFORM PEST CONTROL SERVICE FOR THE PAST TEN YEARS. MOSTLY FOR SPIDERS AND WASPS.
