I spent about $2,500 on the job. I thought it was not a good price for what they did; it seemed like it was just a few hours of work for the price I paid. All they did was spread some chemicals on the ground and remove some debris. I thought it was a lot of money for what they did. It wasn't a real pleasant personal interaction with them. There was fungus on the ground they removed and sprayed and they did that. They removed wood debris under the house. It is hard to know if it was effective, I could have scraped the mold off. I will not use them again.

The fact that the work was very expensive based on the market estimate wasn't what has caused my review. My review is based on the horrible customer service and close out: Our pest report contained a combination of items, some pest, some minor clean-up, and some minor handy-man work. We contracted with a wonderful plumber for the handy-man work, and had Charles Mayer come up to conduct the pest work. When we received the final close-out report, they refused to check the work that we had done, per the pest report, by another contractor. When I called to have them come back out and re-inspect, my phone call was not returned. Finally, our invoice was to be paid by our escrow account. When our home had not sold within two months, I received a VOICE MAIL after two months of no contact, from Charles Mayer's staff stating that they would place a LIEN ON OUR HOME for the unpaid services. When I called shocked and said we had an arrangement for escrow payment and had not received a single bill, letter, or previous call to indicate that they wanted to change this situation, I was told that this was their process. I asked to speak to Charles Mayer, who basically said sorry that I was upset but that this was their process. What process puts a lien on a responsible homeowners property without a bill? I resolved the situation by requesting that the bill (the only bill I've received) be faxed to my work so that I could pay immediately. I was so shaken by the idea that I had made an arrangement in good faith, had done nothing contradictory to the arrangement (expect not be able to sell my house fast enough, which upset me as much as them), and I received no customary "please change our arrangement, please pay now" call. Just a threat. I would never subject another homeowner to that kind of treatment.

This was the worst quality of workmanship that I have ever experienced. Work was performed by inexperienced staff with no supervision. The work was expensive and took several months to complete. Work was not completed as described in the original contract - where medium grade materials were specified, the cheapest possible were used. The workers were sloppy, leaving the yard surrounded with debris and hundreds of cigarette butts. Plaster and stucco were spilled and not cleaned up. All surfaces were to be primed and ready to paint. No surfaces were left in that condition.
