CUSTOM CRAFTED SPAS

This is a very short version of the trauma of being involved with this company. I flew to CA on 12-17-07 and arranged to purchase a custom built spa from Custom Crafted Spas. Cost was agreed on at initiation of purchase on December 17th 2007, for $12000.00. I paid the initial deposit on my credit card while there on 12-17-07; $6000.00. The 2nd payment was requested by phone by Lou Alverez, owner of Custom Crafted Spas and approved by me on 01-24-08 for $4000.00. After many months of poor communication on the part of Custom Crafted Spas and many postponements of delivery, I had to hire a private investigator to find out if I was actually going to get a spa, or if my money had essentially been stolen by Custom Crafted Spas. I could not get them to return my calls. When I started to gather the details of the approved postings for payments for my spa in order to inform the investigator of the circumstances, I went online and saw that a charge had been posted on the 18th of June 2008 by Custom Crafted Spas. This was the first I knew of it. This was an unapproved/fraudulent charge on my credit card. I never approved it. I was never asked to authorize it. He shouldn t even have had my card number. The charge $2400.00, which was also more than what I would have owed him had my spa been delivered yet. The spa finally arrived on July 7th. It was installed. Had to hire someone to do it, CCS sent someone up with the spa that hadn t a clue how to install it. Another $500. Once set up, I turned it on, and CCS had left one pipe unglued. I had Old Faithful going up to the ceiling and into my lighting system. The leak and pipe blowing ended up frying two of the 4 ozonaters [which by the way, was not the equipment I had ordered, and I was never asked about the replacement with something different]. I have spent several thousand dollars to get the spa running as I need it too. Don t ever even consider buying from this company.
