The first technician that came out checked everything out and could not determine the cause of the smell, but thought that new switches would correct the problem of the burner and could possibly cause the odor. He said it would take 3-5 business days to get the part. I had to call them to ask what the status was and when the part would be in. Got the second service call scheduled. A different technician came out and apparently could get all the burners to function. He also claimed the cooktop was a different model than the other technician said it was and that he'd need to figure out what model the unit was so he could order the proper parts. Almost two weeks goes by so I call them again. No parts have been ordered and now I'm told that since he could get water to boil on all the burners, we were done. Neither technician called an hour before they were going to arrive as was agreed on with their dispatcher. They could not even give an estimate of when during the day they would arrive.
Description of Work: This company was selected by my home warranty service. We had a strong electrical smell coming from under the cooktop, plus a burner that seemed like it was not working properly.

I have a home appliance warranty through American Home Shield and they dispatched Universal out of Fresno, CA to come out about my refrigerator. The $60.00 is my copay. Universal does not return calls on a timely manner. If fact, I have had to call them several times to get the appointment. They have every excuse in the book as to why they do not return calls. The techs were out twice in two weeks to fix the problem of a noise and fridge not keeping cold. They fixed the noise (a wire somehow was being hit by the fan), that took two visits. They stated with the fan now not being obstructed by the wire it would circulate the air and it would keep cold just fine. The day after the second visit the freezer compartment stopped working all together for about 24 hours and the fridge will not get any colder than 50 degrees. I put in for a follow-up call to AHS (by the way AHS is great) on Sunday afternoon. They said if I do not hear from them by 9 am to give them a call. I did and was told they would call me back to schedule a time. I waited all day and heard nothing from them so at about 3:30 pm I called them to no avail. No answer, just voice mail so I left a message. By 10 am the next day they still hadn't returned my call so I called them again. Was put on hold for several minutes, then told again I would get a call back within the hour to schedule. Still no word. Called AHS and they called and got an appointment for tomorrow 11 - 4. Hopefully it will get fixed this time so I do not have to deal with them again. Very disappointed in this company! Will never use them again!
