My youngest son dropped his iPad mini and destroyed the screen. As all prices at places I compared were about the same I sent to Screenworks. I was charged $150. When the device was handed to me I noticed that the new glass was badly smeared so I asked that it be cleaned. After cleaning the tech said some of the fingerprints were inside the new glass so it would have to be removed for cleaning. After this was done I noticed, and asked about, an imperfection on the lower right hand side of the device. I was told that had been done when the unit was dropped. I am quite certain it was done when they had to remove the glass, but I couldn't prove it so I let it go. Unfortunately my second son dropped his phone two days later. Screenworks fixed the phone, and charged me $139 for new glass. However, its website said $49. I asked for the lower price; The manager called the owner who refused to honor the website price. I told the manager I would tweet that they didn't honor the price. The owner called me a little later and said if he gave that price to me he'd have to give it to everyone and the price on the website was a mistake (I saved a screen shot of it). I told him that was not my problem and that I thought it was bad business. He offered me a gift certificate for the difference instead of a refund, and I told him that was acceptable. He said he'd email it within 20-minutes. 36-hours later, and after I sent a reminder text, it has not arrived. Pretty sure I was lied to at this point. The staff at Screenworks is helpful and the work was pretty good, but the owner seems to not mind lying to me, To be fair, the store employee quoted the higher price and I only found out about the web price when my son sent the link to me. I believe it's a major gaffe for the owner to refuse to honor the published price.
