Description of Work: I contacted Carl through Angie's List and he returned my call the same day. He was available the next day but I had a conflict with my schedule and we scheduled a few days later. Carl was prompt and courteous. He got right to work and explained everything he planned to do. I was shocked to see how much lint build-up had accumulated inside my dryer and in the vent as well. |One of the main reasons I decided to have the vent cleaned was because it was taking at least three cycles to dry a load of laundry. Carl immediately discovered one of the reasons for such low efficiency--the service person that had previously worked on my washing machine paid no attention to the dryer vent hose when he put the dryer back in place after servicing the washer. The vent was so badly crushed that little air was able to get through. I am amazed that it was able to dry clothes at all. Carl thoroughly cleaned the area under the drum and the vent itself. He replaced the vent hose and was careful moving the dryer into place so that it did not crush the vent hose again. He took before and after pictures throughout the cleaning process. |I highly recommend him and plan to use his services again when my dryer begins to require more than one drying cycle to dry.

 + -1 moreGreat! We moved in 4 years ago and bought a brand new dryer without having vent cleaned. Drying clothes took 2-3 cycles every time I did laundry. After Carl cleaned out the vent my dryer only takes 1 cycle.

 + -1 moreI contacted Carl on a Thursday afternoon and he immediately scheduled an appointment for 8AM the next day. He was right on time, arriving in his work truck which was immaculate as was he. He was polite, very professional and immediately went to work. He cleaned the dryer, floor around the dryer and the roof vent, limiting our exposure to a fire. He never attempted to "up charge" us. I rate him AAA+++

Description of Work: Carl Jones (the owner) cleaned out my dryer vent that goes through my roof and also went into my attic and taped the vent pipe in two places that were all but coming apart due to someone using duct tape rather than the proper silver type tape. I was shown pictures of the vent where you could see all the lint that had accumulated and then after it was cleaned (there was a pile of lint on my laundry room floor right under the vent in the wall) after the cleaning (of course, it was cleaned up). Carl also cleaned various areas of my dryer where lint had stuck. I used my dryer after Carl left and it worked great (no extra dry time required).

 + -1 moreCarl arrived exactly on time. You could tell he was kinda picky by how clean and organized his pick-up appeared. He was extremely professional and pleasant to talk to. He went right to work moving the dryer and washer in the most careful of way for access to the dryer vent. He carefully checked the outlet vent necessitating a climb onto my tile roof. He provided measurements to show how much better flow I could expect from my cleaned vent. A photo confirmed how much lint he had cleaned from the vent system. He re-aligned the washer and dryer and vacuumed the area where he had been working. I cannot recall the last time I have had such a positive experience with a service called to my home.

 + -1 moreThe condo was my first "nest", so it is dear to me. I have rented it to many wonderful people that tend to stay from four to six years, once they move in. Carl is now on my, "resource list", because of his professional work and attitude. He did an outstanding job, gave information that increases operational effectiveness in his area of expertise, and this helps me keep this wonderful place humming.
Description of Work: Carl Jones opened and cleaned the inside of the unit itself. He cleaned the duct that attaches the dryer to an opening outside the roof of my condo. The washer and dryer are housed in a rectangular shaped closet, with doors that fold into a closed or opened position. Carl made some corrections in this setup so the dryer would operate more effectively in the future. He cut the attachment portion of the duct that stuck out from the wall, changed the method of attachment that connects the duct to the rear of the dryer, and installed new duct material. The updates increased air flow through the dryer that the developer had not included in the original construction of the washer/dryer closet setup. While cleaning the floor where the dryer had been sitting in the closet, I asked if we could take a flashlight and look down the drain hole in the floor. We saw a battery lodged deep do in the hole, "Can you get it up and out?" He vacuumed up not one, but, two square shaped batteries out of the drain pipe. After he was finished working, he talked about the dryer model itself and the dial options. Carl talked about the importance of leaving the folding doors slightly opened for better air flow when the dryer was in use. He was great!

 + -1 moreCarl cleaned my dryer vent and replaced my hose. He took before and after photos to show me exactly what he did. My dryer finally started drying my clothes again! He did an excellent job. Unfortunately, we started hearing a clanking sound. I thought it was related to his work, so I called him. He came over that afternoon and offered to look at my dryer. It turns out the repairman I'd hired before left a bracket inside my dryer under the motor. Carl diagnosed and fixed the problem and got my dryer working good as new. I really appreciate his professionalism and quick response time.
