Two days before the move, I get a phone call from U Haul. “There are no trucks in Madison” she tells me. What??? I have a reservation. “That is no guarantee that you will have a truck until we call two days before the move. And we don’t have any trucks in Madison. We found you a truck in Fond du Lac” she goes on to say. Fond du Lac? But I am moving from Madison! “Well we don’t have any trucks in Madison, you’ll have to go to Fond du Lac.and quot; she tells me. At this point it looks like I don’t have any alternatives – of course other companies don’t have trucks available two days from now! So, we re-arrange our plans in order to get to Fond du Lac by noon on Saturday (a 5+ hour drive from Minneapolis). Just to be sure, I call 12 hours before we are leaving to confirm the truck is there. After multiple transfers to “scheduling” and the “regional” person; finding out the truck may now be in Green Bay (what the heck?!?!); and 1 and frac12; hours on the phone with various people at U Haul (they actually disconnected me at one point after I’d been on hold for 20 minutes!), I am livid, and ready to give up. And the icing on the cake – after I cancel the “reservation” with U Haul – they send me an e-mail requesting feedback on my experience!! As if they have no clue why I am canceling with them! I will never again rent from U Haul, and will not recommend them ever to anyone. Moving from one state to another is already a stressful event – not having a truck available for the move – when I had a reservation! – and then to get passed around from person to person - no one should be treated that way!

The truck didn't break down. That's always a good sign. I would use them again in the future.
