Tom's Concrete

Tom is fantastic at what he does. He is obviously very busy also but he makes time to make sure you get what you want. The great thing is he really thinks about the job and gives you suggestions as to what can make it better or what needs to be changed. He is truly a master at his craft. We felt so comfortable with him and his team that you just let him do what he does and you don't need to worry at all that it will get done right. What was amazing was how fast they are also. He told us two days to complete the job and we thought there was no way he could do so. Sure enough, they did. The new patio looks great and we couldn't be happier with the work.

Tom and his crew dug and poured a beautiful side patio walkway and matched it up very well with the existing patios. We were planning to go with plain color, but Tom suggested that we keep with the existing color. Sooo glad we did. They did a very professional job and we couldn't be happier. Turned out much nicer than I expected. They started early in the morning and completed project in one day. Tom was very meticulous with the drainage--very pleased that he was as we had some unusual drainage situations. His experience with concrete clearly shows. I will definitely use Tom's Concrete again and would certainly recommend him to others.

Tom's style is direct. He knows what he's doing and makes suggestions on design. As some projects go there is always the unknown. In our case he discovered 2 foot footings along the edge of our rear patio. Apparantly the previous homeowner was anticipating a possible room addition. This made tear out a challenge. But he and his team jack hammered out the footing because his bobcat could not accommodate the weight. A lot of extra labor. He repaired a broken patio step, left the job site clean and followed up with us numerous times to ensure there were no issues. He meets his commitments and sticks to the job until finished. You'd be crazy not to hire him. Thanks Tom!

Tom did an excellent job. We got bids from roughly 6 different contractors here on A's-list and even a few more not on the list. Tom's bid was the first bid we received and in the end was the most competitive. Tom's price was extremely fair and although we live in a ritzy neighborhood but are of modest means Tom did not try to up-sell us like other contractors appeared to do. He was punctual and very methodical while on the job. You could literally hear him calculate each angle, mark, or joint measurement when he was working the project. Don't let his blunt talk fool you, he's extremely detail oriented. His team of workers, including Tom's brother Terry (very meticulous as well) and assistant Jose were very courteous, friendly. They tore out our existing beat up driveway and replaced it with a gorgeous new broom finished driveway with both a decorative and rather elaborate design and stamped the borders. It is a thing of beauty. The thing about Tom and his crew, you could tell they took the extra time because they wanted a quality product. The design they created is just awesome, it makes the driveway look less like a slab and more like a visual centerpiece. Oh yeah, they had to re-direct our sprinkler lines, tear out a small tree, and cut our existing concrete curbing to ensure the driveway was to the specifications we wanted, and you know what?it was all part of the job, no extra cost. Tom even modified the grade of the driveway so pools of water would not collect like it did with our previous driveway. The man knows his math. I know he really wanted to mark the street. He came out after the job was finished just to do some extra clean-up and to wash down the driveway to ensure it cures well. I really couldn't be happier with the end result.

Tom stopped by earlier than the appointment to estimate the job. He pointed out that an additional slab would need to be replaced or it too would be a trip hazard (tree roots lifting slabs of a driveway). We agreed to a price and scheduled the job. On the day of the job he brought extra help and they were finished by mid-afternoon. It looks great and matches the existing driveway in finish. He was up front that even with the addition of some lamp black to tone down the color of the new concrete it might not match the color of the rest of the 15 year old driveway. It came out closer than I expected.He and his crew have been doing concrete for many years and it shows.

The entire project went amazingly well! Tom's communication is incredible and we were amazed at how fast this project was completed. Dug up previous concrete in less than one day and finished the new driveway the next. Fast, efficient, and the end product is better than we could have imagined! As if that weren't amazing enough, he was also the lowest and most reasonable quote that we received. His knowledge and experience with concrete is admirable and he can set your mind at ease with any and all questions that you may have. If in need of any concrete work, I'd suggest you look no further! Thanks Tom and crew for our INCREDIBLE new driveway!

Tom contacted me timely; came out and gave an estimate. He was very experienced about what would need to be done. Was able to schedule the job within days. Arrived on time with crew and did excellent work. After the job was complete, he called me to let me know that I had accidentally paid him too much. He promptly mailed me a check for the over-payment amount.

Easy going. Could clean up language. Excellent work.

Everything went very smoothly. First day Tom and his crew completely demolished and removed existing concrete. Second day was reserved for electrician to install a PVC electrical duct under the slab. Third day Tom and his crew graded ground and placed a couple of inches of crushed aggregate base very uniformly. Colored concrete was placed, finished, and stamped. Tom allowed the concrete to dry approximately six weeks. Sealant was applied today.

The crew arrived on time and finished the job quickly (about 6 hours). The work went smoothly and the results are perfect. As it turned out, the back yard concrete was easier to remove than Tom thought it would be, so he took $100 off the estimated price. I could not be happier with the work, and would highly recommend this company.

I called many contractors and decided on Tom. He was flawless in his execution ! Everything about the work was done flawlessly. Very high quality, very reasonable price, and always available to talk to. Call him !

TOM WAS RIGHT! The spotting, which seemed to be in the concrete and not just surface stains, were indeed removed by repeated vinegar scrubs. It's hard work, and it's not done yet, but it's definitely working. When I get it done, which will be in about a month or so, I will contact Tom about acid staining the concrete. He doesn't do that work, but he said he will look at it and give me a referral. I can't thank Tom enough! He's obviously very honest. He's also extremely helpful. He was free with his time and advise for me even when it was obvious from the start that I wouldn't be using his service. That's AWESOME! If I ever need any concrete work done, I will be going straight to Tom's Concrete!

A very professional crew who were a pleasure to deal with. After a long, hard day, Tom came to give me an estimate. I'm afraid his language and manner were a put-off but having taught high school students for 27 years, I wasn't offended. He was not that way when fresh in the morning. The site does say he takes Visa, however, he no longer does this as a form of payment. The crew started on time and finished in mid-afternoon, taking any debris with them. Tom spent extra time placing rocks in the drain area and was the only contractor who noted the drainage problem and incorporated a fix in his estimate. Tom is very aware of the California Building Code standards and pointed out several items that were not up to code on our new home. I would recommend Tom's Concrete but would state the above comments so the party would not be offended.

Tom arrived early in the morning with a large crew. I was impressed with the rate of work. Within the first hour they had dug out where everything was going to go and by noon all the forms were in place. The concrete was poured by 2 and everything was done by 4. All the other companies we had gotten quotes from wanted two or more days to do the work and had higher prices. I would hire Tom and his crew again in a heartbeat.

I had two sections of the driveway cracked, one section had a cement and 2 plastic utility boxes which sunk, causing a safety issue. The job took 1.5 days to tear out, form, reset the cement box, replace the plastic with another cement box and finish. He removed a rotted out spacer board between the other sections not replaced and filled in the gab. He even used available dirt to fill a portion of a walk way where the sprinklers had erodded out the dirt. Looks great.

I had actually purchased the $1,000 for 100 sq ft of concrete last year, but didn't have the money to add to it to finish the job, so I put the whole job off. Tom was very good about keeping in touch with me. One year later, I was ready to go. Called Tom, and he responded immediately. I was having pavers put in by a paver company, so we waited until their job was done. Tom then came in and finished the job, including adding a matching paver border to the extended patio. Tom was very easy to work with. He communicates well, knows his craft, and brought in competent people to help him get the job done in two days. The price was upfront and fair. He has followed up with the outcome. I am very happy with the work of Tom's Concrete, and would definitely hire him for any additional concrete work, and recommend him to others.

Very professional and the job was done for what he quoted us. No extra charges. We actually had him do some work for us last year also and that work was great too. That is why we had him come back and do another job for us. And we would definitely recommend him.

We are very pleased with our patio! Tom and his crew did a fantastic job! They were very nice, helpful in design ideas, respectful of surrounding landscape and left the site neat and clean. Tom called and came by a couple of days later for a final inspection and to make sure we were happy with the project. They were very professional. My brother, who is a contractor, was so impressed with the crew and the quality of their work that he would like to use them on future projects. We will definitely be using Tom's services again and recommending him to anyone we know that needs concrete work done.

Tom and his crew did an awesome job of replacing an awful driveway and putting in a beautiful one. He did all of his work in one day. He was there on time including the day we signed the contract. You can't believe how he well he managed to get the concrete people and all his workers to work as a team in a timely manner. These people work so well together. I don't believe anyone could beat the price or quality of the job he did. Everything was cleaned up before they left. Best of all he's an honest and pleasant person to deal with . I needed a cement pad on the side of my house for a new HVAC unit. Tom and crew did a great job leveling the area and finishing the concrete. Tom also did us a great service when he found the drains under and around the cement pour, he repaired a clogged line and also fixed the downspout that fed those drains. He is a master tradesman and cared more about the quality of his work than anything else. He hired enough guys to get the job done in one day (we were in a hurry because the HVAC people were coming the next week) and he incurred some additional cost finding and repairing the aforementioned drains. We are going to have him return and finish some other area in the future. Oh and by the way he is a heck of a nice guy too!

Tom was informative and knowledgeable about how to replace an unsightly cement walkway and stairs that had been cracked and lifted by tree roots. He also broke up and carted away a large cement pad and a hand built stone barbecue which were no longer useful. I was impressed with how quickly and efficiently he worked. Both his fee for the removal and the estimate for replacing the old cement walkway were reasonable. In the end I decided to go beyond cement replacement, and hired a landscaper to to re-do the back yard. I appreciated Tom's candor, energy and positive attitude, and would definitely hire him for future cement projects I might have. I

They did a great job. Had to tear it out (one day) and put in following day. Price included floor and steps inside house. Also Included expansion strips between concrete (original floor did not have expansion strips). If you could say concrete looks beautiful then this finished product does. No splattering on the side walls – very professional - needless to say I am very pleased, looks great. Would easily hire Tom and his co-workers anytime. Tom was always there working and supervising no absentee contractor.

Tom and his team did a very beautiful job! All work was completed in one day and they knew exactly what they were doing. When they realized that the walkway needed to be lengthened in order to keep the rain water away from the house, they informed us and then did the additional work. Thank you, Tom!
