I called for service and they were able to be here in 30 minutes. They came and did the job and even as an extra removed and installed a new door knob I had been wanting to do myself but never found the time. Great service.

They had really good reviews on Angie's List and that’s why I picked them. They were good, they gave us a great bid and they were very polite and everything, but when it came to the job, they didn’t do a great job. They were putting deadbolts in and the holdings that were made were crooked, and it's an expensive door so it had to look perfect. They price reflects they quality and though we had a little more work to do in the house, I said no I will find somebody else to do it because I didn’t want to mess up with the expensive doors. So basically they gave me good value, not the best quality but they were trust worthy.

His name is John Ferrell and I have only used him once but I was impressed with him. I liked his professionalism. He was pleasant and hardworking. He just came in and did what he had to do, and he was very polite and courteous. He was very professional, and to my surprise, he not only had the eight keys but he also gave me one with my name engraved on it. I think that it was a good price because it was my property manager that recommended him, and she recognizes the importance of price for her customers. He worked on four locks and made eight new keys, and there was a little bit of work involved because I have deadbolts as well as the other kind. He rolls his van into your driveway and he has got his whole shop right there in the van. You don't have to run around taking keys because he comes right to your door and does it for you. He is very quick.

I received prompt service in response to the phone call requesting service; the locksmith was at my door within an hour-and-a-half of my phone call (wow!). The locksmith was very informative about the lock problem and he resolved the storm door problem very quickly.

An entry door lock / knob stopped working and was beyond repair, so I went to my local Ace Hardware and got a replacement. When I needed it re-keyed, I called Economy Lock & Key. The guy was prompt, advised me that I needed a Schlage lock to be compatible with the other locks in our house, then didn't charge me for the house call but told me to call back if / when I got a Schlage. I bought a Schlage and installed it, then called them back. They had an appointment the next morning and the guy came just when he said he would. It took him less than 10 minutes to re-key the lock and he even gave me a $10 discount for using Angie's List. I'm very happy with the service and especially the fact that they didn't charge me for the first house call (since I clearly didn't know that there are different kinds of keys for different doors).

The guys were punctual and friendly. They listened carefully to my concerns and needs and then got right to work. They were professional and the work they completed exceeded expectations. I would definitely recommend them and I will use them again!

I called Mary when my housesitter was inadvertently locked out of my house. She was exceptionally responsive and helpful. I then had them come out to re-key the locks in my house. John arrived promptly, completed the work in an efficient and excellent fashion. He was very courteous and made sure I was satisfied. I would unhesitatingly recommend them.

It went very well - he was very patient and took the time (at no extra cost) to figure out how to get one mismatched lock for which we did not have a key to work with the rest of the locks.

They were very easy to schedule around my times and called prior to the appointment to confirm and let me know they were running just a little late. The gentleman showed up, not even 10 minutes late and was apoligetic, and got right to work. Very professional and friendly. Very competitive pricing, too. Would definitely recommend them.

I called them about replacing a front door lock and then re-keying the lock to make it work with the same key as out other exterior doors. Instead of this more expensive process they merely replaced the interior mechanism. It would have been easy to tell me I needed an entirely new set of locks on the door. Additionally, even though I stated that it wasn't an emergency as our door has two locks and we could still lock the door, they came out that same day. Very pleasant and very efficient, and much less expensive than I expected. He even noticed that the second lock on the door was having some problems and fixed that also at no extra charge. He even gave me information of how to keep the locks in good working order so I would not have to call unless there was a more serious problem!

Overall, the service was excellent. Economy Lock and Key responded promptly when I phoned them, it was easy to set up an appointment, and I was able to have a discussion with the locksmith about what I needed and what options I had (color, the ability to keep using the same key, etc). The morning of the appointment, the locksmith stopped by before our appointment (and I wasn't home), so he made another 1-2 calls on other other clients and then phoned me to see if I was home. While his ultimate arrival didn't fall in our original timeframe, it wasn't a problem because I had flexibility on my end, and once he arrived he went straight to work and was done in less than 20 minutes. He also made some additional adjustments to the lock's exterior orientation so that it would look exactly straight to me (I tend to be pretty picky about these things). I am very satisfied with the work.

The lock on our security screen was sticking making getting in and out of our front door a challenge. I called Economy in the morning and they came out a couple of hours later. They replaced the lock and saw to it that the key was compatable with the other keys to our house. They were polite, efficient and professional. I would certainly recommend them.

A great experience. I called them at 9 A.M. on a Monday morning and they sent a truck out immediately. The repairman arrived about 45 minutes later. He removed and checked the existing lock and gave me options - he could repair the lock or replace it. I chose the latter and he did the job quickly and efficiently. Everything was done and working smoothly in about a half hour. The repairman - Tony - was a very pleasant fellow who conducted himself in a professional manner and was careful to keep doors shut so my indoor cats were safe. I certainly felt I got good value for the money.

We needed re-keying for our house, that day. Mary at Economy Lock & Key was very helpful on the phone and despite initially not offering an appointment that day, worked it out with me when she knew I needed it right away. She then kept in touch so that I could get my errands done and be back in time for the locksmith to show up. The locksmith was efficient and friendly. We had our locks re-keyed when we moved in and had a dead-bolt that was always hard to operate. After this work by Economy Lock & Key, every lock works better than ever before, the cranky dead-bolt works correctly (I had not asked him to specifically address that), and all of the new keys work beautifully (none of that rough "new-key" feel). We are very happy with the work. They use their own key style for the duplicates that have slightly bulky tops, but he even stamped the back of keys for me so I could identify the different locks they went with.

John was on time, very professional, fast and did all work at the house. He was available w/ less than 24hrs notice. I would definitely call again. All locks are working just great.

Overall, I rate this service as excellent and heartily recommend them. I called Friday morning and made a 2pm appt. for the following Monday. John gave me thorough advice and price information by phone and even provided a weekend phone # to call if I had trouble choosing locks in the store. I called Monday before 9am to confirm the appt. and was told Tony would arrive between 2-3pm. When no one arrived by 3:06pm I called and spoke to Mary. She said Tony was on his way and she'd been in the process of contacting me. Tony arrived at 3:34pm. He was very personable and helpful, patiently answering a number of questions. He seemed to enjoy his work and was knowledgeable and competent. He instantly noticed that one of the locks in a set I'd purchased at Home Depot did not match the rest of the set. I'm a very careful shopper and specifically chose this box over another because it didn't look tampered-with. Apparently someone intentionally returned a substitute lock because the plastic holder and cardboard box looked to be in perfect condition. Fortunately, due to John's initial advice, I'd purchased an extra lock! If I hadn't, I would have spent 45 minutes driving to Home Depot to return the lock and purchase a new one. Tony mentioned that he could repair, rather than replace, two of my locks. This saved me $100! He worked steadily for about an hour. I'm completely satisfied with the work and very impressed by the integrity of the company. They could easily have charged me for replacing two locks, rather than repairing them. I would so like to give them an "A" in all categories and feel a bit bad about giving even one "B". However, I do think that a one-hour appointment lee-way is sufficient for this type of work and Tony arrived more than 30 minutes outside this window. Though this didn't inconvenience me significantly, I did cut my last appt. short to be home for a 2pm arrival, and think a grade of "B" is accurate. Though I must say that a small breach in punctuality is the least important of the categories listed and all other aspects exceeded my expectations. I'd even rate some categories as "A+" They also gave me a valid Senior Citizen's discount. I say "valid" because I feel that some companies claim to give a reduced price, but simply raise their rates to accommodate the "discount". Since John gave me detailed price information on my initial call and didn't know I was a "senior" at the time, I know the discount to be true. The final bill precisely matched the oral quotes John had given me. How refreshing - no surprise charges! "Economy" will definitely be my first call if a future need for lock assistance arises. I DO want to emphasize their honestly in not providing work that wasn't necessary and their thoroughness in the initial interview which saved me a long and tedious extra trip to Home Depot. So, thanks very much John, Mary and Tony - keep up the excellent service! :-)

After I called, they came out promptly at the time we had agreed on. The repairman was courteous and very professional. The charge was very reasonable for the amount of work they did. All the locks work great now. I would recommend them without any reservation.

This man was on time and very professional, courtages, and very fast. I would score this company very good in all areas. I will call them again when ever I need something from a locksmith.

I called the office in the morning; they provided a general estimate. We agreed on a time after lunch. The rep, Tony, came on time and as we showed him the locks, he made a few minor suggestions so that all locks would work from one key. We accepted his proposal and he went to work immediately. Within thirty minutes he had all the locks ready with our single key. It was a thing of beauty.
