Description of Work: Changed three door locks to one key.

Description of Work: We recently purchased an older home and the former owners were never able to provide us with keys to all of the doors. There were 4 locks, 2 of one brand and 2 of another and even those locks that had keys were barely functional. I began to think that gaining entry into my own house was becoming a crap shoot. Efren, the owner/operator of the company, rekeyed and repaired all of the locks in short order.

Description of Work: This wonderful owner was a true gentlemen and exceptionally talented at his craft. He was on time, on budget, offered helpful suggestions, and was a pleasure to do business with -- and I will definitely call him again!

Description of Work: RE: Efren Curiel, owner of HOME KEYS After having problems with communicating and getting an appointmennt with Locksmith Central, due to thier policy of coming to the house "when they are in the area" and knowing they are located in Fulsom (15 miles away) I had no idea when they would be in the area. I then looked on your list of locksmiths and found The Home Keys and since he was actually located about a half mile away from my home I called him to see when he could come out. I explained to him that my son was here visiting me for a few more days and really would like to get the keys to my house made to "one key fits all" when my son was still here as I live alone and am usually apprehensive when strangers enter my home when I am here alone. He asked me what I needed done and when I told him that my back door leading into my garage was broken and I could not lock it unless using the deadbolt lock each time using a key plus wanting to get one key locks on all of my three doors leading to the outside. He qouted me $40.00 to come out and $60.00 for everything else and would be able to come out on the following Saturday which was three days from when I was calling. That was agreeable as my son was not leaving until Sunday. He then called back shortly after our conversation and said he would come that day and be here by 4:00pm. That was just great. He came about 3:45pm, sooner than promised, and greeted us very courteously and friendly and totally explained what he was going to do and after seeing the various doors and locks he still stayed within the original $100.00 charge. He was creative in adapting his work to our needs and schedule, was very competent and fixed all the locks solving the problem of not being able to lock that one door without using the deadlock to go from my kitchen into the garage. That certainly in itself was a relief and took care to explain what he was doing (or had decided not too) at all phases of the work. He was also very neat and thorough and he was here for about 2 hours and conversation with him, while he was working, was totally enjoyable. I would not hesitate to refer him to all of my friends and anyone else who was looking for a locksmith. I had put up with the aggrievation of not being able to lock my one door during the day for so long it was and has been a joy to have it fixed and he showed me the broken spring that was causing all the trouble and replaced a whole new lock for that door. He also provided me with the additional number of keys (6) I wanted and needed at no extra charge. I am aware of how expensive locksmiths can be however, $100.00 for everything and the extended time he did them in seems so very reasonable that I felt this man was someone I could trust and thank you for having him on Angie's List.

Description of Work: The owner of Home Key, Efren, is an absolute professional. I recently purchased a home in Rescue California and needed my locks replaced. He provided a competitive quote over the phone and was able to setup to perform lock replacement within a day.

Description of Work: Rekeyed 4 separate locks into my home. In the process of rekeying Efren had to clean/smooth all the mechanisms so all doors worked to his satisfaction. All my doors/locks work with 1 key.
