Buckley Heat Air Solar

I called Buckley-Parnell for a bid after a company I had hired to perform an annual heating/air inspection of the system at my house gave me a quote of $750 for the work. (I had already paid the other company $80 to inspect my system, so the $750 was in addition to that). Buckley Parnell came out and did the same work as was quoted by the other company for $525 (a savings of $225). The work was effective, efficient, and clean.

The Installers were very professional and helpful. Left everything spotless. My husband had just had heart surgery and when he tried to replace the filter they insisted on doing that for him. They had been informed by Brian of his physical condition and were extremely considerate during the entire installation. They showed up on time and were entirely finished in a few hours. This was for a rooftop installation of the heating and air system. They thoroughly explained what they were doing and did it with the utmost of care. We were very happy with the experience and would confidently recommend them!

it was the first hot day of the season and I turned on my A/C and it doesn't cool. I called Buckley/Parnell the next day (Saturday) for them to come out that day for what I thought would be an after hours call. Turns out Saturday is just another service day for them so I wasn't charged an "after hours/weekend" rate. Their service tech (John) was right on time and was courteous and professional the entire time. My A/C was pretty old and I knew it was only a matter of time before we had to have it replaced, especially since many of our neighbors have had to have theirs replaced in the last couple of years. So I was not surprised when John came in and said that my A/C is a year passed it's life and somehow was completly out of coolent. He explained all my options to me. He didn't immediatly go to the costliest fix. I told him this was an absolute horrible time for us to purchase a new A/C because my husband is on disability while he undergoes chemotherapy. John and I decided the best decision would be to add coolant and see if he can get it running for at least this season. Fortunately for me John was able to get the thing running and I was just charged the price for the coolant. And even though coolant is expensive it sure beats spending a few thousand for a new unit. I would highly recommend Buckley/Parnell to everyone on Angie's list.

The system is very quiet and we hardly notice it when it comes on. I really appreciated how John included me in his examination process and explained why things were not running and what he needed to do to maximize our system. He said I could follow him around ask questions. We made an appointment for 6 months around August for the next tune-up. I highly recommend Buckley and Parnell!! The service was total quality which is very rare is this day and age. I feel comfortable that I will have a QUALIFIED technician in my home and that I do not need to worry about my heating and air knowing that they are a phone call away.

Little to no effort from me. I met with Brian. He sent a quote and estimated start date. The job started when expected and was finished when expected. The crew was professional and did a VERY good job. The new ducts and registers look beautiful.

We had tried another company first when our 20+ yr old system had problems. Several companies couldn't help us the same day, and didn't have parts on hand for our older model heater. Buckley Parnell was able to come over the same day we called and Jake gave us an informative assessment and a range of options. The repair was done by afternoon that same day. Everyone we spoke to from the front desk secretary to the technicians that installed our new heater were courteous and organized. We did finally decide to purchase a new heating unit, and we believe we got a fair price for a high end model.

I was very satisfied with their service. The price was reasonable compared to the other quotes I received and the work was completed on time. I appreciate the honesty the sales guy showed. Other folks I called tried to sell me a new system but Brian was honest and professional and told me that a repair could be done and replacing the whole unit was not necessary. The heat exchanger was replaced as soon as the replacement part was received from the manufacturer. I will use Buckley Parnell's services again in the future and I would also recommend it to my friends.

My old unit was repaired several times by Dan but the time came for a new unit which was installed by Jake & crew. It was done in a very timely & clean manner. I am very happy with the way it all went.

John Buckley and crew showed up at 8 a.m. on Monday morning and started work. By 11 a.m. the crane was there lifting my new unit onto my roof and removing the old. By 1 p.m. I had heat pouring out of my vents. Life is so good.

the crew was timely said I would have heat before 12:00 and it was, explained procedures as they went along, cleaned up afterwards and went the extra mile by asking if I had extra house paint. They painted over some areas that were new to blend in with the rest of the house. Overall very impressed.

The CO alarm activated twice over the holildays, and I called contractor on 12/29. Mr Buckley came to the house and after looking at the condition of the existing flue recommended replacing it entirely. The upper.part of the old flue was transite, and the lower part metal. Generally it was rickety, After lunch Mr. Buckley's two sons arrived to replace the flue. They took precautions to avoid any soiling of carpet and furniture. They cleaned the fresh air vent screens so that there would be a good supply of air for combustion to the haot water heater and the gas furnace. They very quickly removed the old flue and installed the new one. My only concern is the high cost for what seemed to me to be a very simple job. However, considering the hazards of CO and wanting to get the repair done as soon as possible, I did not want to spend time getting estitmates and I agreed to the price.

We bought a house and the central heat didn't work. I spoke with Stephanie on the phone, arranged a diagnostic visit, and a couple hours later, Dan arrived to look at the issue. He went up on the roof and found that a switch had not been flipped by the original installers, so he flipped the switch and the heating system instantly lit up. They charged me the cost of the diagnostic visit we agreed upon, which would seem high for a quick fix like that, but I'm glad it was an easy fix not more! I know who I'm calling for our seasonal tune-ups!

He called us on a Saturday , understood our concern , and was here within a few hours. He was here at the estimated time, was very profesional, even wearing booties to be sure our carpet ws not soiled. He diagnosed the cause of our problem , the charge was exactly what he quoted. The problem was fixed to our complete satisfaction . He even went the extra mile and showed me where to turn to main gas line in case of an emergency . Very pleasant and easy to work with . Will use them again any time and would recommend them highly.

On November 16th the compressor in my heating unit went out. I had received a quote of $1K-$3500 to replace it from a company that had previously worked on my unit and so I thought I would get another estimate. I found Buckley Parnell highly rated on Angie's List and decided to call them. They were well worth the call! I explained to Stephanie that my compressor had gone out and what previous work had been done so I knew it was the compressor and wanted to get an idea what it would cost me to replace. She asked if I by chance had the serial and model number to my unit to which I provided. To my absolute amazement I had a 10 year parts and labor Trane warranty! Stephanie quickly scheduled someone to come out the same day late in the afternoon to confirm that it was the compressor that went out. Stephanie called me a half hour before he arrived to let me know he was on his way. Dan arrived and was very professional and friendly. He quickly got to work outside and confirmed that the compressor was completely frozen and that he would head back to the shop and see if they had the part or find out if it needed to be ordered and would get back to me. Stephanie called me back the same day and confirmed the part would need to be ordered and would get back to me when she had an arrival date of the part. Stephanie called me the next day and told me the part was coming from Texas and wouldn't be here until November 29th. Stephanie was great at calling me and keeping me posted as to where the part was in its delivery process. Dan arrived on schedule on November 29th and was here for several hours removing the old compressor and installing the new one. I'm happy to say not only did I have heat before Dan left but a nice quiet working unit. Thank you Stephanie, Dan and Buckley Parnell for you wonderful customer service!

Two guys came and explained the total process then proceeded to work. They sealed the ducts and cleaned the main duct into the truck, then used a chimney sweep thing to break loose more dirt and sucked it out. He vacuumed where he had been and talked to us about how old the heater unit really was. I will be seeing him again. I was very pleased.

Brian Groom e-mailed me an estimate the same evening I called (I called at the end of his work day because our system failed during the heat of day). The next day he visited my property to inspect the old AC unit which he confirmed needed replacement. We discussed possibility of repairs but repairs by a different AC service company had failed twice earlier so we decided to replace the AC unit. Brian helped us to understand how efficiency ratings are affected by the Heat exchanger coil over our same age natural gas heater. We reviewed a payback analysis to help justify the added cost of the higher efficiency systems. Brian worked happily with us by phone, e-mail and fax; answering a myriad of our questions (my wife is an engineer and was loaded with technical questions that Brian addressed in a competent and convincing fashion). This helped us decide it would be prudent to replace the aging heater with an upgraded efficiency unit to improve the overall system efficiency. Brian gave us detailed quotes with the different options so we could compare the various system efficiencies and associated costs. He e-mailed and faxed us the quotes so we could get competitive bids. We spoke several times on the phone and Brian was always promptly available. We elected to use Buckley Parnell because of the confidence that Brian Groom instilled in us. We looked at the options Brian presented to us. He explained in a clear fashion the benefits of the various efficiency ratings. We elected to go for a "top of the line" system which turned out to be a very reasonable price. Rebates were available from SMUD, PGE, and the Manufacturer (on the top tier systems). Brian filed all the forms necessary to receive rebates and called to be sure we received them. These rebates returned $1000.00 to us! There was an Angies' List rebate as well which was deducted from the cost. The price was competitive with other bids. We remain pleased as can be at the low net cost. Our confidence in Brian and Buckley Parnell were reinforced as the process unfolded. Brian was available to address questions and concerns during the whole process. We are happy we chose Buckley Parnell. The equipment was installed on the arranged day and time and was accomplished without incident. The home looked as if the equipment had been "beamed" into place. No cleanup by us was needed. Brian did a follow-up visit to ensure things were completed to our satisfaction. It was. The new system purchase and install includes a check-up of the system in one year at no additional charge. Rebates for the more efficient system gave us a net price after rebates of nearly the same final cost as a less efficient system with lower rebates. This was a win for our utility bill and a win for the environment. The reduced noise of the more efficient new system and the increased comfort of the home are an unanticipated benefit. I hope that all Angies' List vendors are as good as Buckley Parnell. Our experience made us feel that pride in one's work is an American ethic that is alive and well at Buckley Parnell.

They are competent and they did a wonderful job. I have had a few problems and I have used them to take care of. I have a lot of confidence in their business. They have great customer service.

My air conditioning went out over this last very hot 4thf July. They were willing to come out the next day after I called but they could not give me an appointment time more precise than morning or afternoon. I needed more of an approximate time with my work schedule. I was pleased however, to learn that they could come out on Saturday. The service person was here within the time frame given. He was very nice and did not take long to restore my much needed air conditioning. He replaced a part and offered to give me the 'bad' one. He was kind enough to take it with him though. I mentioned that the filter had not been changed for some time. He offered to measure the size that I would need to get. I appreciated this since I would not be able to reach it without a ladder. He then wrote the size I will need on the receipt. I told him that the last time I had someone out to check my AC the guy had tried to get me to buy a new one. He told me that he did not think I should need a new one for some time to come. All and all it was a pleasant experience.

Our AC went out. They came the day we called and resolved the problem. Nice folks to work with and responsive. I will contact them next time we need AC service.

Air conditioner went out on my rental unit, called BP to look at it when the tech arrived he found that all the Freon was gone from the unit which meant there was a leak. He fixed the leak and added Freon for $395 but noted it was a very old unit and might need replacing. I asked them to email a written quote as replacing an AC is not cheap. No quote arrives. A week later on Thursday before the of 4th of July weekend, in the middle of a heat wave, the AC stopped working again. They went out and said there was another leak and recommended replacement, after a little push they finally provided me with a written quote and I authorized the replacement. They came out the next day on Saturday of July 4th weekend and replaced the unit. They credited the cost of the initial fix to the replacement and gave the Angie's list new unit discount as well.
