He didn't give up eventhough it was unusual and a bit tricky. He was honest and professional. He called me the day after to make sure everything is fine. Which I really appreciate.

He provided service to the exact place I wanted, included the cost of parts ( including all weather gfci outlet, weatherproof box, and all conduit and wire). Showed up on time, performd the service, and was finished in less than 2 hours. Good work, on time, and on budget. Doesn"t get any better than that.

+ -1 moreWhen I can not turn on the coach lights and reset GFCI out side the garage wall. I panicked. I called David and left a message asking fro help. He called me back in a short moment, guided me through necessary steps to find out what the problem could be. I was suprised he called me again the next day to make sure I have resolved the issue. I was not. So he helped me further on the phone to diagnose the problem and told me if I can not solve the problem myself, he can come help me. What a nice guy. But I end up not using his service because I found the problem myself later. I would say without his help, I can not do this myself. Great help Dave. And when I called him to cancel the appointment, he was not mad at all. Very nice guy. I would recommand his service to any one.

+ -1 moreI've completed the easiest part of the search, in a logical order, eliminating possible locations, easiest to check first, and mapping other GFCI locations (found five GFCI resets but not the one that's tripped.) I've become very familiar with the electrical system. Removing peg board and a cabinet will be the last step. Got my fingers crossed and I like the fact that if I don't find the GFCI reset, I'll be able to call Dave, describe the system in detail and at least where the tripped reset isn't located. That should make any on-site work by Dave more efficient.
Description of Work: I called David Brannan to request an inspection. One of our GFCI circuits had tripped and I couldn't find the reset. Dave suggested I perform some specific checks on my own to save the cost of a house call. He spent a significant amount of time listening to my description of the problem and what I had done. Then he described, typically, how an electrician would have gone about placing the GFCI resets and where they most likely would be found. His advice provided confirmation that I was doing the correct things and gave me insight on where to continue the search. He asked that I update him on my progress and he called back later that day to see how I was doing and was able to give more suggestions based on my progress. I still have a few places to check that are behind cabinets and pegboard. If I can't locate the reset at that point I'll talk with Dave about the next step.

He guided me on what to do with the circuit breaker (which was the first time I had actually opened the box) and he guided me on what to do with the outlet which has those "reset" buttons. This may sound very elementary to some folks but for someone like me who knows nothing like this, Mr. Brannan's service is the best. I am a senior citizen (female) and I recommend his services to everyone--young and old. God bless Mr. Brannan!

Friendly and explained what he could do and why he would recommend another electrician for one of the problems (other electrician had specialized equipment that would be faster and cheaper to find the problem). Unfortunately, per Angie's List, the electrician he recommended in not licensed, bonded, nor insured. I will not hold this against Brannan Electric, he may not have known.

David called us back almost immediately and came to the house within two hours. He set to and soon had the problem sorted. He also gave us the contact information for some specialized work to be done (also recommended on this list). David then followed up to make sure we were satisfied with the outcome. We definitely are!
Description of Work: He diagnostically identified and replaced a faulty fuse switch that appeared to be working properly, but wasn't.

+ -1 moreExcellent! In the process of purchasing an older home several electrical issues were discover on the home inspection. We called Brannan Electric after reading the reviews on Angie's list. Dave called early in the day to let us know when he would arrive. He arrived on time and proceeded to go through the inspection report, page by page, and then check everything electrical in every room and outside the house. He explained what was working correctly, what needed to be repaired, and which of the previous electrical repairs/modifications did not meet current codes. He explained the best way to correct these deficiencies and gave us an estimate of the time required. He then went into the attic and installed an junction box on an open wire connection. He was very friendly and explained everything he was doing. I would definitely use him again.

I ended up going with another vendor with a lower bid that fit my budget, however, Brannan's quote was fair and within range.
Description of Work: Even though I did not end up using this vendor, I needed eletricity pulled out to a detached garage. I needed a plug for the garage door opener, a utility plug, a shop light, 3 outdoor lights on a timer.

Explained the problems with the GFi and smells of electrical I was having. I know he would have come out right then if I wanted but I was willing to wait until Monday as we isolated the problem over the phone and he gave me a temporary fix. He showed up Monday right on time and called 10 minutes ahead to tell me was on his way. Got here jumped into the 3 problems I had and was in and out in a little over an hour. Yes, as previously noted in other reviews, Dave is a conversationalist but that is fine with me because along with banter he imparts good electrical knowledge and tips. Hire him! You won't be sorry.
