Terrible experience. They misrepresented themselves as high end professional contractors who could handle all phases of the job. They gave us a bid of $6,400 to remodel three TV walls and install a video door bell system. We purchased all the equipment needed and the TV’s are already wired in their spots, so we were only looking to make the walls more attractive with the wires hidden etc. Don Owen Sr and Don Owen Jr said they could install the video doorbell now but would not be able to do the TV walls for another month. We agreed that if they would install the doorbell now and would wait until August (4 months down the road) to do the TV walls. They said that would be great and assured us our work would take priority. After weeks of waiting we called Don and asked for a time and how much of the bid was for the doorbell. Don told us they would require us to sign for all $6,400 and we ended the conversation asking for a time and cost for the doorbell work. He said he would get back to us, then the next day we get this email < “We had other bids that were accepted that was before you so we took those in the order and we're too far out now to do your project sorry for the inconvenience.”> This excuse makes no sense since the work on the walls would not start for another 4 months. In hindsight we believe they did not have the skills require to do the doorbell and had been unable to find a sub that could because they had assured us they had the few hours it would take to do the doorbell and the work on the walls was 4 months down the road. Mind you there was no need for them to purchase or do any preparation for the work now or that some four months down the road, we had all the equipment for the doorbell here waiting on them and had agreed to purchase any finish materials when needed to do the walls. . They misrepresented themselves and wasted weeks of our time. We are left now with starting over to find another contractor.

Excellence comes to mind then I look at the work Eli of Owen Builders has completed in my living room. The latest project - installing an Oak Front Door and exterior Steel Security Door was completed without flaw – simply excellent. Eli demonstrated his experience and talent with a previous project – custom building a wood mantle and shadow box around an existing fireplace. Viewing the final product causes me to smile as I reflect on its beauty (to my eye, that is). As the mantle project was finishing, Eli asked – what next? How about replacing the front door with something less “utilitarian”, perhaps the new fiberglass? In the end, a solid oak with glass half-circle was chosen. The Oak Door was installed in one day with the exterior Steel Security door taking part of another. We, the home owners, were consulted at various stages as choices appeared. A beautiful door expertly done. I heartily and confidently recommend Eli of Owen Builders for remodeling projects.

I cannot say enough good things about Owen Builders. They were very professional, trustworthy, and great to work with. Elijah listened to our problems/concerns and came up with wonderful ideas. The bookshelves look absolutely wonderful. The workmanship if outstanding. We plan to have more work done by them. We highly recommend Owen Builders for any work needed around the home.
