Description of Work: Richard was very helpful in scheduling the estimate as well as the actual work that was done. We have high ceilings in the living room, and he said it wouldn't be a problem to bring in scaffolding. When the first crew arrived on day 1, they said they might not be able to do the high ceiling because the scaffolding might not fit into our condo. Luckily that wasn't the case and the entire job took 2 days to remove the popcorn ceiling and 1 day to paint. After each of the 2 days it took to remove the ceiling, I came home and found debris. They did a great job with the ceiling; I just wish they had brought a vacuum cleaner to pick up the smaller pieces of the ceiling that fell in the rooms. I came home each day and ended up vacuuming and moving the furniture back in place. After the ceiling dried, the painters came and did a great job. However they left a white border along the top of the walls in each room. Richard explained that this was the only way to get a clean line since there is now less of a ceiling because the popcorn was removed. I had to repaint some of the rooms because we didn't like the way this looked. After all is said and done, the ceiling looks amazing. B++

+ -1 moreOverall this was a pleasant experience. The workers showed up on time and were very efficient while working. They were willing to work around me as I finished up some electrical work in the house and patched all the holes we created from cutting holes for the recessed lights & pulling cabinets out to redo the kitchen. I was VERY PLEASED with that. The only complaint that I have is that they didn't complete the walls so that they were "ready for paint". This is work that they would do if they were painting the house as well, but to me it seems that it should be a part of finishing the drywall. The work required to be ready for paint after skim coating the walls is inspecting the walls for any bubbling or irregularities by hand and lightly sanding them out, caulking all the corners for a professional look and (in my case because I have bullnose edges on the walls) sanding them down to remove the excess material and have a finished look. Its a very small part of the overall job, but it still seems like it should be included in the drywall finishing price. To be fair to System 1 -- I didn't press them to do the work because I was moving on to the next project, but in hindsight I should have. It's also good to point out that while they were there they put tape over their shoes to keep from tracking the skim coating to and from their truck and covered our driveway in plastic and rinsed it off everyday when they left. Very good about mainting the overall appearance of the exterior. As far as price goes, they were reasonable with that as well. I got competing quotes from 3 different contractors. I presented the lowest bid to System 1 to see if they would match it because I liked their professionalism during the estimating process and although they couldn't match the lowest price they significantly lowered their price and allowed me to make a decision based on the new information. This is a family owned operation that is now with the second generation and it appears that the quality of work continues.

+ -1 moreThey did well. There is one room where they left some staples and a little bit of paint on the wall. We ve called him and asked him to come back and take care of that and he said he would. We haven t gotten that done yet. They came well recommended and did a good job. The one problem was that they bought out a helper that wasn t as qualified as the lead person. I think that is why that happened in the one room. Overall, we really liked the outcome, except that one room.
