The plumber arrived within the time frame he promised, was quick, efficient, and did the job in such a way that it was cosmetically pleasing as well as functional. He made sure I knew how to replace the filter when needed, and asked if there was anything else I needed. Having finished ahead of schedule, he charged less that the quote he had given, and gave me the senior discount, as well. I couldn't be more impressed.

I was able to reach them by phone right away, and they were able to come within 24 hours. They unclogged a laundry pipe within one-half hour, were able to tell me what was wrong and what still needed to be fixed--without pressure to sign on the dotted line for extended service.

I was told over the telephone that it sounded like the recirculator had been installed incorrectly (upside down), and that was exactly what the problem was! They were quick and efficient, and we had plenty of hot water in less than an hour.

I contacted Andrew K. Mills (AKM) for an estimate on a sewer mainline replacement. I asked for an estimate that included trenching (digging to expose the existing sewer line) and one that excluded it, if I could separately hire someone to do the trenching. I got the former, but not the latter. AKM said if I had trenching done separately, they would just charge time and materials for the replacement, but did not provide any estimate of hours or materials, so I had no idea what it might cost. I asked twice for the time and materials estimate, but did not get it. Finally, I decided that I would just ask them to do the whole job, provided they could do it during a certain week, over a month in the future, and take $300 off their first estimate. I was first assured that they could absolutely do the job during the week I wanted, and the owner would come out again to look at the job to assess whether they could meet my price. After a few days, I got back an answer that they could NOT do the job when I requested because their backhoe subcontractor was booked up. (Apparently, no one had bothered to check that before promising me it could be done.) I grumbled about the change in schedule, but asked them to still come back with a final bid and a proposed date to start. Finally, I got a message that the owner had re-assessed the job, that it was too complicated for them to dig (due to irrigation and gate access) so I would have to find someone else to dig, and that they would have to charge MORE than their original bid. I was extremely annoyed by all the changing answers, and felt like they were just walking away from the business, but asked once more, politely, whether they would honor their original bid and resubmit it with a proposed start date. I got no response at all.

Hugo took apart each valve, located the issue, cleaned each little screen thoroughly and reinstalled them. We are waiting for parts (free of charge thanks to Hugo's recommendation), then we'll have him back to reinstall the new parts. The job went well, and we are so relieved to finally have the answer to this problem.

I had a great experience with this company. I was extremely impressed with the work that was done. It was done professionally and efficiently. Job was priced reasonably. It is a local company that is privately owned. They did a very good job. I have used them several times.
