Lifescapes

I was pricing out different landscaping companies because I wanted to have a pergola built, some concrete poured, a different slab of concrete stained, some flower beds dug and underwater sprinklers changed. I called Lifescapes and made an appointment for Wednesday at 12:00 to have someone come out and give me an estimate. I chose this time because it is when my 1 year-old is napping and as anyone with a toddler knows, getting anything accomplished with a 1 year-old is a lot more challenging. 12:00 came and went and no one showed up to do my estimate. When it got to be 1:00 I finally called and the owner was very apologetic and told me she wasn't sure why Tony didn't show up but she would have her husband come out immediately to do the estimate instead. About 15 minutes later Tony, the original man who was supposed to do the estimate arrived with only a brief apology and an even briefer explanation about why he was over an hour late. By this time my 1 year old's nap time is over so this whole process is even more difficult. We went through and I discussed what my wishes were. He told me he would get back to me with the costs of the services I wanted by Friday. He promised me that this time he wouldn't be late. Well Friday came and he called to ask if it was okay that he come Monday with the estimate instead. I said that was fine even though what is left of his credibility is already dwindling. Monday he came out with the numbers. He quoted me $1900 to pour concrete that I had previously gotten an estimate of $1200 from 2 other companies. I told him that was a lot higher than the other estimates that I had received and his response?it won't hurt his feelings if I didn't decide to use him to complete the job. WHAT???? Is that how he gets business???!!! Precisely why I scored "Professionalism" with an F! The total he quoted me for all the work I wanted done was approx. $11,000. 3 days later I got another quote for the same work from another landscaping company and the total was literally half the price. This guy Tony that worked for Lifescapes was arrogant, NOT punctual, NOT professional, and did NOT offer a competitive price. I would NOT recommend this company.

Ken Chase came to our home to listen to our desires. He promptly drew and submitted designs and worked within our budget. We are new to Chico and Ken has become a new and trusted friend. The design is almost complete and we are thrilled with what he and his crew have done.

They did not do the path properly that was originally drawn up. I was not very pleased.

Lifescapes does top quality work! They are not the cheapest around, but you get what you pay for. They totally overbuilt the irrigation system by using commercial quality valves, wire and time clock. Additionally, they buried the main line with a back hoe several feet in the ground, much deeper than a trencher could have done it. The best thing about Lifescapes is their support. Even after the job was long installed, they have come back to help adjust the sprinklers and give advice and help on care of the lawn. I highly recommend Lifescapes.
