DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! October 24th, 2019 and we are still dealing with incompetent leadership. They installed peeling and splitting wood along our entire deck handrail and stairway. We noticed right away and verbalized our concern with how saturated the redwood was. It had sap leaking out everywhere and was wet to the touch. The workers had noticed and mentioned it to the Supervisor, Ray. On numerous occasions, Ray went back and forth trying to get the correct supplies the entire time. Always bringing the wrong things to our job site. Countless hours spent by the workers waiting for him to bring supplies and having to decline the materials because they were either not usable due to defect or incorrect. Verbally complaining that he just couldn't get it right. So we asked CRBR not to have him return and send James or someone else that was qualified to supervise our job. We asked several times, finally getting a promise to switch supervisors. But they didn't. Ray returned later in the job and brought the defective redwood to be installed. And they installed it in the spring of 2020. I told Vince, James, Ray and everyone I was supposed to at CRBR that I could not stain the wood to protect it right away due to its defects. They told me they would send someone up to inspect it, even after sending them pictures of the peeling and cracking. We even had an in person meeting at their shop and at their request we signed completion documents for the job. Vince promised they would make it right. Instead they pushed us off longer and longer, until finally now. To inspect it they hired someone from the outside to come look at it and right a report on their findings. I'm sure you can come up with the rest...the report said due to neglect to stain and protect the wood it is now defective. WOW!! Imagine that, you pay someone to write a report the way you want. It's obvious they cared only to collect my insurance money and not me as the customer.

Description of Work: We had a leak that resulted in removing the flooring and toilet in our bathroom. Cleanrite showed up the day after we called giving us an estimate of 800.00 to 1100.00 to complete the entire job. They removed the toilet, flooring around the toilet and some drywall next to the toilet leaving a gaping hole in the bathroom floor. They put in dryers for four days. The came to remove the dryers and could not tell us when the work would be done. We had them check another bathroom when they first came out and found a problem there as well. When we called to find out what the next step was, two days later they sent out someone to give us an estimate on the other bathroom and then they went away. Seven days later we still had not heard from the regarding any further work scheduled or what the additional work would cost. Meanwhile we have no toilet in the master bath and a gaping hole in the floor exposing us to everything on the underside of the house. We called Cleanrite and they did not call us back for three days. Meanwhile we made arrangements with a local repairman who would get back to us and had the repairs made. We called Cleanrite to cancel any further work Three weeks later we get a bill in the mail from Cleanrite for 2196.00 When we questioned the bill the man we had talked to said that there was an error. He said he had quoted us 800. to 1200.00 for the work that they actually did do and they would take 1000.00. This was not what was quoted in the beginning but we did not get it in writing. Big mistake. Phone calls to the office went only as far as the receptionist. It took days to get to talk to the person who actually arranges the estimates and actual work. The work was satisfactory but the price quoted was not adhered to and the response time to getting our problem fixed shows absolutely no consideration for the customers needs. I would never use them again under any circumstances.

Description of Work: our bathroom leaked through the ceiling--due to the air conditioning unit---our regular adjuster was out of state so we had someone from Stockton---he recommended c/b---the first guy that came out was from the cleaning section---very nice---said we had asbestos so they would have to get someone from Sacramento to do this work---they also were very good and helpful----at this time my husband was in a hospital bed across the hall from the bathroom with a broken neck---the asbestos people tore out all the bathroom ceiling and part of the hall---then the reconstruction people entered the picture and it was all downhill---they came out and looked it over and were not at all receptive to any thing I had to say about the repair work--they left hen with the bathroom and hall exposed to the roof---it was very, very hot at the time---I called several times to as if they could at least cover the ceilings with something as my husband was extremely uncomfortable---no called back or did anything----so I went ahead and hire someone else to do the work---three weeks later they called and said they could come out the next day---I said the job was done and don't call bac

Dear [Member Name Removed], The inconvenience of a water damage is never expected. As you so carefully detailed in a favorable way how our Team approached the initial water damage, we appreciate those comments. And yes sometimes we run into extended issues like Asbestos etc... that said it is how we finish which concerns us. And in this case it appears we did not finish to your standards or ours. We have utilized your comments at our monthly safety meeting and reviewed your job for areas where we can improve between our two Teams. Mitigation and Re-construction. Thank you again for your honesty and valued input. All the Best, Bob Battezzato

Cleanrite/Buildrite came on short notice, making an appt for my mountain home (16 miles out of town) to get the job done before company was coming on a 3 day holiday weekend. They arrived on time, and were pleasant and professional. They got the job done in good time, doing a GREAT JOB! He helped me move some furniture, and was great to work with! I would recommend this company in a heartbeat! I really appreciated them fitting me in and making it happen, so that I wouldn't be embarrassed when my company came. They (my company) hadn't given me notice, or I certainly would have had this done far in advance, but this really made an impression on me when they were able to do it.
Description of Work: Cleaned my wall to wall carpets upstairs in bedrooms, hallway, stairs, & bathroom. Cleaned 3 9 X12 area rugs, w/2 long runners in entry and laundry rooms.

Vinyl flooring needed replacement after large flood from dishwasher that soaked between floor layers to the bedroom downstairs. They were recommended by our insurance company. "We should have this done in 2-3 weeks." Job took 3-4 months. Rarely responded to phone calls, did not finish the job on time, became defensive when we shared concerns. You could see the nails coming out of the molding on the floor. Paint did not match, stain on wood molding was not even close. They knocked the door off the oven while performing their repairs. My measure of quality workmanship - "Is the repair job the same or close enough to the original quality work?" Not even close. It is unprofessional to get defensive, to accuse family members for damaging their shoddy work, and to act like we are victimizing them (the contractor). It is unprofessional to demean my spouse, to shrug and yell, and to make excuses to deflect responsibility. When excuses are made, when blame is deflected to other people, it smacks of desperation. It was at this point I called and complained to the manager of the company that his foreman was innappropriate(with his blaming and demeaning) with my wife. I never got a call back. No attempt to mediate, apologize or even listen. Not once. What ever happened to at least willing to hear a customer. Listening is 95% of making someone happy!! I could have hired a handyman and the job would have been more thorough. Certainly faster, and more professional.

Thank you for your honest and candid comments. We do appreciate all feedback from those we serve especially if the job is not completed to ones satisfaction. We have reviewed your comments internally and compared them to our job records. Unfortunately the Project Manager who was on point with your particular job is no longer with CRBR due to less then exemplary work. The General Manager and Operations Manager utilized your input at one of our weekly production meetings as an example of poor communication from a customer’s perspective, which serves as a reminder that we have to be aware of our efforts toward excellence with customers of CRBR at all times. In serving this community it is essential that we learn from customers like yourself, make it RIGHT and stand behind our reputation. A reputation that has served us and this community for over 50 years. We welcome any opportunity in the future to provide services for you and to prove the type of quality work we are capable of delivering. Thank you so much for your honest opinion and feed back. Very good. Very professional. Reduced price some for the mold removal and attic damage since I wasn't being covered by insurance. Very friendly
Description of Work: Had a leak in my roof. They came and tarped it. Within a few weeks they were back to remove the interior damage and spray for mold. I put off fixing the I toor damage until I got the house reroofed by another company. That was finished last week, and today they are starting the interior fixes which will cost about $895 to replace Sheetrock , tape, paint, replace insulation, paint plus regale in bathroom and also repaint. The Emergency tarpin was about $221 I believe and the mold, debris and cleanup was $1700.

They bring in a giant vacuum and they use a rotary tool with a brush on it and it goes through and takes off the dust and dander and what not from the inside of the ducts while it vacuums at the same time. They also do carpet and upholstery. They did spot cleaning, pet stains, and they moved the smaller furniture like recliners and end tables.

basically overall it did not go well---i'm hanging here until monday i guess so i can call my insurance agent---they tell a good story--but no follow up
Description of Work: they came out to my house on an insurance claim---my air conitioner had over flowed and leaked water into the bathroom ceiling--they came out and as in the other review i read ---said no problem they would take care of everything---we might have an asbestos problem since my home is older---they sent some one out to test it----called back to say yes it was a problem---haven't heard back ---so i'm left here hanging after they took all the wet insulation out of the affected area---as the previous review said ---the promise you everything and you get pretty much nothing.

We appreciate your input. After checking our operational records we did review the timing and dates of your particular job and saw that it was one which had a case of possible asbestos. Anytime asbestos is found in a home it is somewhat of a process due to the necessity of testing for it and sending it to the proper third party testers. If the process and timeliness of the testing was not communicated to you correctly we sincerely apologize for that. Having a disaster in your home is never a planned experience. And as you can image, having Asbestos in the equation can make it even more difficult. Specific regulations concerning Asbestos and being a Certified company, CRBR must then inform the Insurance Carrier as to our findings. It is for the protection of the Homeowner as well as our Employees. This process then involves a third party to “test” if the Asbestos is what we call “hot” and what process they would recommend moving forward. This takes time and can delay a job in progress but is essential to the health and safety of all involved. This is why there was a delay, gap in the timing of your claim. I apologize if that was not communicated properly to you as we instruct all of our Project Managers to communicate such issues with those involved. Again we then need to wait for proper approval from the Insurance company to proceed. On August 9th as reflected in our operations log we did complete the job and have a signed Notice of Completion/Satisfaction. We do appreciate your input from the customer point of view as it only helps to serve as a reminder to us that we need to continue to over communicate not only the CRBR process to our customers but also other processes that may affect your job. If there’s anything else we can do for you please do not hesitate to call us anytime at (800) 870-0030.
This was the worst experience in my life and it is 2012 and it is still not over. These guys will butter you up with grandiose ideas, then drop a huge pant load all over your home. I have had nothing but headaches and heartaches ever since I made the mistake of hiring these buffoons. I can not and will not ever recommend Cleanrite-Buildrite even to a sworn enemy, it would be just too cruel. Please, Please, Please do yourself a favor and run far, far away from Cleanrite-Buildrite and any other contractor that associates with them. You can thank me later.
Description of Work: FOR YOUR OWN SAKE, DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. YOU WILL REGRET IT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.We had a fire in Sept. 2008 that started in the attic. Cleanrite-Buildrite was hired because they are part of State Farm's "Premier Service Program" (Side Note: DO NOT USE State Farm's Premier Service Program. Get paid out directly and hire your own contractor!). Cleanrite-Buildrite was supposed to complete all the cleaning and storage of our personal items, and they were hired as general contractor for the entire fire restoration which was to be completed in March 2009. Cleanrite-Buildrite did not finish until June 2009 due to extreme mismanagement of time. Because Cleanrite-Buildrite did not contact State Farm and ask for an extension in a timely manner, my family was forced to move be into our unfinished house due to the inability to secure our rental house for another 2 months. Our house was a complete mess. First day returning I found dozens of problems. Cleanrite-Buildrite did not even have time to return our personal items, we had to stage and unpack all of our furinture and items. Also, many of our items still had soot and fire debris on them because "Cleanrite" did not "clean right", probably because they can't spell correctly. Terrible drywall taping and texturing throughout the house and garage, missing shingles on the roof, all light fixtures in the house hanging 1/2 inch below flush with ceiling, installed a defective toilet after breaking my original one, fixtures like the medicine cabinet installed in my house that I did not approve, medicine cabinet also installed with drywall screws screwed through the cheap plastic housing, warped doors throughout the house that would not shut until Cleanrite "fixed" them by cutting a 1/4 inch of material off the top of the doors, they installed the wrong kitchen countertop then lied to me about being able to change it, and many other problems. These guys are so dumb they installed my kitchen fossette handle backwards then argued with me about it being correct. Another carpenter cut an expensive piece of molding too short then Cleanrite-Buildrite tried to charge me twice for it. Cleanrite-Buildrite also damaged my kitchen cabinets while in storage by leaving them in a puddle of water at their warehouse. Most of the problems above were eventually fixed, but not until after many complants. Yet, other problems were not repaired correctly or never corrected at all. In November 2010, we found out that there was a gas leak in the house since the day we moved back into the house due to a missing metal kickplate and a baseboard nail that punctured the furnance gas line. This 2.8CFH gas leak was poisoning my famly and leaving us at risk of a second fire or explosion. After the gas leak was fixed my son deceided to check the attic spaces and the crawl space under the house. My son found that Cleanrite-Buildrite did not insulate over my kitchen and only put half the amount needed throughout the rest of the attic. Cleanrite-Buildrite did not properly clean and seal the fire damage in the attic, they did not do any cleaning and sealing over the garage attic, they broke holes through the firewall seperating the garage and living space attics connecting the two, they did not install the underlayment in my kitchen, the roof extension they added to the house is not structurally sound, the gutter system is gobbed up with silicone to stop leaks, they used silicone several different times on the roof shingles to repair rips and tears in the shingles, even one of Cleanrite-Buildrite's sales managers admitted to using silicone to "seal" nails that had poked up through the shingles then when I questioned him his awnser was "Well, it's a 50 year rated silicone and I don't know how esle you want me to fix it.", they damaged one of the floor joists by cutting almost all the way through it with a sawsall, and they also used an old CLOSET DOOR to repair a hole in the subfloor in on of the closets. When we complained about the problems Cleanrite-Buildrite tried to deny that they the work. I had to get the State Contractors License Board and State Farm involved before they would admit they did or rather did not do the work and we paid for it. Cleanrite-Buildrite eventually offered a monetary settlement, but it was well below the $35,000.00 that independent contractors have explained the damage cost is in estimates.

In the process/removal they produced a heavy layer of dust material over all the furniture(fabric) in the living room and family room. They put dents and scratches all over the refrigerator(black). They did not place covering over anything until we complained about it. They damaged(gouged/scratched) the door and enter/exit ways from the kitchen to the outside of the house. They damaged(scraped) the threshold at the front door. We are still finding damage they caused and they are suspect for missing medications. We filed a complaint with Cleanrite and they came to the house and took pictures and a report which they will not resolve. Afterwards we have heard many bad reports about this company.
