On the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, and several calls to various Air Conditioning repair office and told we were not their territory, I called Alternative Heating & Air only to receive their answering machine. I thought for sure they would not call back, like other offices we attempted to call. Within a half hour, Alternative called, asked where we were located, the problem and gave us the after hours diagnostic fee, they scheduled a technician to arrive at our hour about two hours later. The tech, Tom, arrived on time, listened to our situation and what happened with the unit. Tom then went to work to diagnose the problem, and replaced the motor. This was within two hours after arriving at our home. Tom was friendly and very knowledgeable about the unit. We will use Alternative Heating & Air in the future for our heating & air conditioning needs.

Very thorough --he cleaned outdoor coil, replaced filters, checked refrigerant level, oiled motor, checked & tightened electrical connections. Gave me recommendations for the future. Professional and courteous. Will definitely be a return customer.

Our Heat and A/C both stopped working all of a sudden. Could here the unit come on but no air would come out of vents. Even when we attempted to turn just the fan on, still no air from vent. Two other service providers to told us that we would need to replace the entire blower and both quoted us around $500. Tom from Alternative Heating and Air bcame out after we called for a third estimate. He took one look and told us it would be an easy, cheap fix, and had the part on his truck!!!! Just a little capacitor that ran us $144 TOTAL!!!! After three days with no heat or air (in Chico, CA) and three different estimates, the servicing turned out much, much better than I could have ever hoped for, especially after what the first two contractors had told us. We could not have found a nicer, more professional person to fix our problem. By far the best price, the fastest response, and best work!!! Nobody in our family will ever use anyone else. I don't normally leave feedback, but our experience was so good that I cannot say enough good things about Alternative Heating & Air. If you want an honest, hard-working, top quality, going above and beyond company, then this is the one for you. Alternative Heating & Air has been to my home for a couple of maintenance/repair issues over the past several years and provided honest reliable work. But only until recently did I have the opportunity to use them for a much larger project of replacing a very old furnace, including badly needed worn and damaged ducts, and in a very tight and confined small basement. Not only did they swap-out the furnace and ducts but added a light switch for the basement, which I never had before but needed, and repaired a flue that could've enabled a fire catastrophe if it hadn't been fixed I'm sure there were other 'little' things they fixed but didn't bother to mention or charge me for including checking the air conditioning unit and finding there was too much freone causing the a/c to work harder than it had too. This company is the real deal. Jason and John, you guys rock! Thank you so much for your service!

We called them up as they had done an excellent job working on our air conditioner in June as a part of American Home Shield Providers. They came out the next day and determined our needs and possible locations. they offered us a fair estimate. We agreed and they put the order in telling us it would take about a week to receive and that they would call us when the quiet whole house fan came in. True to their word they called us Friday the 15th and were here promptly in the morning of the 16th and installed the whole house fan and wired it's own switch. It went very well. Tom and Vince did the scouting and had worked for us before. Jason and Christian installed the fan expertly. We are very pleased with the investment and quality of work. We would happily work with them again.

They fixed/replaced some pipe insulation, cleaned condensation lines, cleaned the outdoor coil, replaced the filter, checked electrical connections and refrigerant all for the price of a checkup.

After receiving a referral from our solar contractor- who said that Alt. Heating and Air was knowledgeable about heat pumps and other alternatives to traditional systems - the principal from Alt. Heating and Air, Tom, answered a request for a consultation and quote very promptly. He actively listened to our needs and questions and returned a timely quote. The final negotiation on price was attended by the lead installer who looked at the old system, the ductwork, etc, to confirm the work to be done and its timing. This was a very useful step for us. The price we negotiated was more than fair, based on two other quotes we had already received. The installation team of three was friendly, courteous and professional. Installation took about 2 days longer than expected due to a joint decision to add new vents and some unforeseen problems with the house. These were handled with a minimum of fuss and no extra charges to us. The systems have operated problem free for 5 months now and we are very pleased with the comfort and overall results. All of the folks at Alt. Heating and Air have been a joy to work with; we actually look forward to seeing them from time to time for annual maintenance, etc. The "B" for professionalism is because we ended up assisting the team in programming the thermostat and in tracking down a problem report code on the Amana online site. But these were brand new models so the small knowledge gap was understandable and it was actually to our benefit to get the deeper experience with the systems.

They were pretty good. They did quite a bit. They were on time and did a good job. I would recommend them. The price was very good. They came right on time. They are scheduled to come and do the air conditioner in the spring.

Excellent! Tom came out to do the initial quote and was very thorough. He explained everything and dealt with me one on one with no high pressure sales pitches. When the work was to be done they were on time and very efficient. They completed the job in a timely manner and cleaned up after themselves. I was very happy with the quality of the work and the extra effort they put in to making sure the job was done well. Any questions I had they were always there to answer them, and were excellent with their customer service skills.
