We got 3 estimates for the work we needed done. So-Cal Tile's estimate was not only the lowest, but Paul (the owner) assured us that he could and would finish the job within a week. The other 2 contractors we spoke with both said it would take 2 weeks. Time was of the essence because we only have the one full bathroom and being without the shower and tub was going to be a huge inconvenience. After doing my research to check the contractor's license, etc., we signed the contract with Paul and got busy purchasing the new tub, toilet, floor tile, etc. and set the date for construction to begin. Paul and his guys showed up bright and early and the first 2 days ran pretty long. There were a few surprises discovered after ripping things out that Paul's crew took care of but it took a little extra time and Paul promised us a week so they worked a little later than planned. The 3rd and 4th days went as planned and on the last day, Paul showed up to seal the floor and was out of here in an hour. There were a total of 7 men in and out of the house at some point during that week and each and every one of them was professional, polite and courteous. They cleaned up after themselves and they all did a fantastic job. Everything turned out nice but the tile job is probably the best we've seen. We would highly recommend So-Cal Tile Design.

The quality of the work went from excellent to fair as the work progressed. In the end, it seemed like he had tired of the job and just wanted to be done. We later noted some grouting was missed and had to be done by us. His work schedule was erratic, and he often did not show up when expected. He also wanted much more than 10% down up front, and kept requesting progress payments as often as he could. The work got done and turned out OK, but it took much longer than expected and cost somewhat more than estimated.
Description of Work: Installed tile on several outdoor decks totaling about 1500 sf.
