Progressive Insulation & Windows was founded in Chatsworth in 1978 and has grown into one of Southern California's leading replacement window and insulation companies. We stand above many of our competitors because of our commitment to provide excellence in the installation of our products. Though we now have more than 70 trained installers and sales reps, we still do business in the same customer-centered tradition that propelled us to success in our early days. We are still a family-owned and operated business that truly cares about the customer experience before, during, and after installation of any of our products.
Truly, from beginning to end, the job was great. Dwayne came out within a day of my estimate request and got a quote back to me promptly. Once we decided to go with them, the lead time on the windows was 5 weeks but were ready within 3 weeks. They came early on the day of installation and finished about an hour ahead of their estimated time of completion. They clean and courteous throughout. After reinstalling one of our blinds, it did not seem to work properly. They tried their best to fix it but could not. I asked Progressive to help with the cost of getting the blinds fixed and they have been helpful in trying to compensate for the trouble. Very pleased with our experience!

Our first contact person was Dwayne Dalichau. He answered all questions with patience and great knowledge. We feel that we made the right decision in choosing our windows based on his guidance. We chose the PROmax8 windows by Amerimax and replaced five windows and two sliding doors. Since we own a townhouse we had to follow the HOA rules in regards to style and appearance. With Dwayne's assistance we had no issue in getting the approval by the HOA. Scheduling the day to replace the windows was easy as well. The workers were punctual, courteous and hard working. Every single extra work I asked for (changing the screens on windows that didn't get replaced etc.) was done without any hesitation. As scheduled the job was done in a day. The windows are reducing the noise and blocking the outside temperature substantially. They also look fantastic from the inside because of the framing. We are very pleased with the result and the service since then has been great. After a few days a ran into the sliding door and ripped the screen. Progressive came by and changed the screen without any charge. I also would like to mention that I had a very specific issue around the sales tax, so specific, that the owner of Progressive took his time to call me to discuss. This is a great company with a fantastic customer service.

We entered into a contract for insulation in two attic spaces, the crew showed up on time and they were so courteous. We left them alone to do their work, they did not need us looking over their shoulders. They cleaned up all the debris upstairs that had been there for over 30 years. The insulation is in, they did great work, and they cleaned up so well, we couldn't really tell someone had been working in the house. During the install, some of the electrical outlets stopped working, and the kitchen lights stopped working. It was apparent that something had happened during the install to cause electricity to go out. We weren't upset, things like this can happen. The guys called into the shop and an electrician was requested. It was late in the day, I didn't think they would have someone out. Gary from Progressive called around 4:40 pm and let me know he was having trouble with the idea of our electricity being out overnight and he managed to get an electrician to show up after hours. Everything was fixed. Breaker needed replacement. I would recommend this company again. Great customer service! Now we're hoping for a bit more energy efficiency throughout the house

The person who came out and quoted us on the job was fantastic, I believe his name was Dwayne. Our baby's room was not cooling down in the summer and when winter hit it was very cold. We had replaced the windows but it wasn't enough. Since the insulation has gone in the problem is solved, just as they promised. I have no issues with the work that was performed. The issues we had Progressive were centered around their office operations and processes. It was raining heavily the week we had Progressive scheduled. Two days before the job I called to inquire if we needed to reschedule because of the rain. I was told that it was up to me, but that for the insulation that was going under the house it is best for it not to get wet. Sooooo? I was left unclear on what best practices are but told that unless they heard otherwise from us that they would be there rain or shine. The following day someone else from the office called to confirm the appointment and I was in meetings all day. Once I got the message their office was closed. I called first thing the morning of the appt and was told they canceled my appt because they didn't hear back from. That was frustrating because I rearranged my work schedule to be off the following day and scheduled a painter for the following day to patch my daughter's room. The person in the office did the best she could and got the team out there to do the blow in insulation and the team to work under the house came later. Last Thursday, I received a call from the billing office for payment. I gave the person my credit card number. Within an hour, nearly $1700 in Zappos charges showed up on my credit card. When I called Progressive on Monday to report the issue to them, I spoke to the same person who had taken my card information who said that she passed my card onto her supervisor to process the transaction. I asked if she could verify that the site they use has security certificates and she could not. She put me on hold to speak to her supervisor. I was on hold for 10 min and the Supervisor never got on the call to speak to me. The solution she offered to her staff was that I should contact my credit card company directly, which of course I had already done and my card was already canceled and new ones issues. My main issue in how the matter was addressed is that the supervisor never spoke to me directly despite me bringing a significant billing concern and I was not given any reassurances the system they use for billing is in fact secure (they did not have access to this information). The person I spoke to was very courteous and I felt she was doing her best and by the end she did offer to give me the owner's information to call him directly. At that point, I already did not feel comfortable giving them business again and she assured me she would pass the information along.

Our "Birdhouse" home was built in 1959 by real estate developer William Mellenthin who was known for designing charming ranch-style homes with gorgeous, wood beam, cathedral ceilings; we purchased it in 1991 from the original owner who--thank goodness--did very little to alter its appearance. We replaced our entire A/C & Heating system, as well as our roof, & began preparing to have the exterior of the house painted. Unfortunately, houses built in those days were drafty, using up too much energy to cool & heat the home, so we started paying attention to all of the info out there on the internet about choices & options of insulation. After getting the run-around from contractors who wanted to charge us beaucoup bucks, I found Progressive Insulation & Windows rated highly on all referrals, including Angie's List & especially 1 of the most reliable companies referred by SoCal Edison: "Viewtech Financial Services, Inc." a Kilowatt Financial Co. Progressive Insulation & Windows was 1 of only 5 contractors on their L.A. County Contractor Referral List. We made a convenient appt. with their sales rep, Dwayne Dalichau, & were very pleased with the forthright, honest appraisal of our home's needs. He was extremely knowledgeable & reassuring, confirming the same info I learned from my internet research. We started out small, asking the price of insulating only our Southwest bedroom; the estimate was only $700(!) So we decided to include the rest of the home, which now was estimated at $1,225(!) Boy, did we express interest! By questioning Dwayne about his assessment of other aspects of insulation, he mentioned our attic, & to our chagrin, pointed out the level of insulation done 25-30 years earlier was negligent & to bring it up to code would cost $1,195. So we were sold! To insulate our entire home & attic, following the best procedures, cost us $2,420. Wow! And we can ASSURE you that the work which was completed in September 2015, was superb! Ever since that day, we have enjoyed our home SO much more: it's so quiet!--keeping out the everyday noise, which we took for granted--but it's also so much cooler in the Summer months (no need for A/C) & warmer in the Winter (no need for heat), that we are so appreciative of Dwayne Dalichau's calm, quiet, competent guidance to help us make the wisest, most cost-effective decision possible.
Description of Work: WALL INSULATION: Blow-in cellulose installation on all walls of our house, using an excellent product known as "Green Fiber" blow-in natural fiber insulation; drill thru stucco, fill wall cavities, plug holes & gray stucco patch. ATTIC INSULATION: blow-in R-30 cellulose installation in attic over existing installation to achieve R-38; baffle all eve vents, barrier recess lights, install attic rulers & weather strip attic hatch; cover knee walls with radiant barrier.

The sales rep was very knowledgable and helpful. Answered all questions and brought samples. On the day of installation, there was a crew of four people. All of them were extremely professional and polite. Upon completion, the foreman showed us how everything worked and was very patient answering our questions and fixing a few minor things. They are a very customer service oriented company, as noticed by the way we were treated during the entire process. We have already recommended them to several family and friends.

I used progressive insulation to do my insulation, windows, and to help me through the energy upgrade rebate program details. I couldnt be happier. Not only was their work performed impecably, but they answered all of my calls promptly, addressed all of my questions patiently and best of all i received a cash rebate from the state for $6,000! I had no idea this rebate money was available from the state, but Im so glad i talked to Progressive first.

Congratulations! I am glad we were able to help get you such a big rebate from the utility sponsored Energy Upgrade CA program. Progressive has been an approved contractor in this important program since its inception. In fact, we processed the first two jobs ever inspected through the Energy Upgrade CA several years ago. We now have a whole department to help homeowners and our remodeling contractors with the processing of all the paperwork required for the program. Our processing team, led by Yadira Ponce, have developed a system that makes the process very easy for all of our customers. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience here on Angie's List. Steve Anderson, president

From beginning to end this company was very professional and responsive! The salesman, Gary Stephenson was very pleasant and prompt. He took the time to patiently explain the product and was even available when I had some follow up questions even though he was on vacation!! The installers were also very prompt, professional and easy to work with and cleaned up after themselves. One small glitch: one of the windows was not measured correctly. However, Mike in sales worked very hard to quickly rectify the problem and the window was subsequently re-ordered and subsequently installed 3 weeks later. My brand new windows are absolutely lovely as is my new French Slider. While no home improvement is perfect, this company is very customer service oriented and professional. I would recommend them in a heart beat!

This is the third time I dealt with Progressive through sales consultant Sam Keyhani. New windows for my two houses and last June attic insulation before I moved in. Last two did not involved any communication at all after the signing of the contracts. This time I asked Sam for a replacement window screen when I signed the insulation contract. He said that he would take care of it. I texted him two days later to remind him. No response. The evening the actual work began, I tried to communicate with the installer through Sam, he never did call me back. Since I had not moved in to the house yet, I had to drive across town to talk to the installers the next day. Progressive did good work. The quality of windows and the insulation was excellent as far as I could tell. However, the installers who spent three days at my house drank up my emergency water supply (a total of 36 bottles) without asking. They also changed my attic fan temperature setting to the lowest (understandably it was hot up there) without adjusting it back when they left. Since I had not moved in yet, the fan ran for a whole week day and night till I got up there to change the setting. Then I discovered that they left some empty soda cans there (think ants) too. This and ignoring my calls failed the professionalism test. An update-- Both Gary, the manager and Sam called me and we talked at length. They both assured me that they had learned a lesson and promised me that they would do a better job of responding to their customers in the future. My replacement screen was delivered and installed yesterday. Before the replacement screen came and after the initial telephone call from Sam, I was called three times and texted once on the progress. I am satisfied with their response and will use them again in the future.

[member name removed] is a long time valued customer of Progressive’s and we have apologized for not properly communicating with him on this particular project. This is the third job we have done for him and we have done work for his family as well. Approximately, 80% of our business comes from existing and referral customers and, as always, we took [member name removed]’s comments on this last job very seriously. Basically, [member name removed] had two complaints. A simple request to replace an old screen that was not taken care of and, a more serious matter regarding missing water and soda cans left in his attic. At Progressive Insulation and Windows, our integrity is everything. We do our best to instill that belief in every one of our employees. Everyone makes mistakes but we will always do the right thing in the end. We encourage our employees to be open and honest by not punishing them if they do make a mistake. Instead, we recognize them for always being truthful and encourage them to come up with solutions to every problem they encounter ASAP. With that, we discussed [member name removed]’s complaints with our installers. They assured us that they did not drink any of [member name removed]’s water, change his attic fan or, leave cans in his attic. There were a couple of other trades at his home at the time but, never-the-less, [member name removed] believes that our men were responsible. For his inconvenience, we are going to deliver to [member name removed] the screen he had originally requested for a window, unrelated to this job, at no cost. When we go out to deliver that screen, we will also provide him with a gift certificate so that he might use it to enjoy dinner on us. We have talked this over with everyone involved here at Progressive. By constantly reviewing all customer comments, good and bad, we are usually able to retain our customer’s trust and look forward to doing business with [member name removed] again in the future. That is our responsibility and has been our commitment to our valued customers for almost 40 years. Sincerely, Gary Stout, General Sales Manager

The level of service that the installation team performed was great. They made sure to cover everything with plastic and they cleaned up after themselves at the end of every day. They used a swifter wet mop to clean the floors before leaving, the floors were cleaner after they left than when they arrived. They also took all the trash with them so I didn't have to fill up my bins.

Looking to improve our energy efficiency we decided to replace our duct work and re-insulate our home (we had almost no insulation). HVAC guy recommended i talk to Progressive, he said he never really worked with them but he knew of a customer that was a "Pain" but was always happy with them. I called Gary, he came out to give a quote. He was professional on the phone and worked with me to try find ways to leverage the work i was doing to my home so that i could get a rebate. Right away he started calling me and communicating with me to make sure i was getting a good deal with rebates ect. I felt like he was on my side, so i was happy with that. Gary put me in contact with Yadira which helps process Energy Upgrade California rebates, unlike my HVAC guy which was uncertain about submitting the rebate because he had to submit Progressives work and his own (he didnt want the hassle), Yadira and Progressive right of the bat where willing to do whatever they could to qualify me and help process the paper work. The job went well, there was a little bit of insulation that escaped into our house, but nothing terrible. The guys were on time and courteous, and the work looked good. Finally, we had some hiccups with the testing for the rebate program because of the HVAC work and our older system, while my HVAC guy which did the duct work squirmed at what he could do to fix it, Yadira and Progressive never left my side, they where there to provide information and input, even contacting the HVAC contractor. Long story short, Yadira helped us figure out the issue and get us qualified. Waiting for rebate check and very happy. Definitely use them again and recommend them, they were always available for questions and willing to work with us to resolve issues. Good customer service.

What a fabulous review! It's great to hear a customer describe how our team takes the hassle out of processing the paperwork to get the best rebates possible. I wish more people's air conditioning companies would call on us when they are doing upgrades to their systems. Proper insulation is critical to the performance of any air conditioning system and, most of the time, we are able to get rebates for most of our customers that are MORE than what we originally estimated. I hope that was the case for you. Thanks for the business! Steve Anderson, President

I have a woodworking workshop that used to be a garage. It was very hot to work in during the summer, and equally cold in the winter. I called progressive for an estimate and Ken showed up when he said he would. He quoted me what I felt was a very fair price. I had to do some preperation prior to having the job done, but once that was completed I called to schedule. I spoke with Jose and he made it very easy to get things going. They showed up ght on time, unoaded the supplies and left one man to do the job. The job took just as long as Ken said it would and turned out perfect. I'm thrilled with what they did and would definately call them again

They were recommended to me by an Angie's List provider. He was very good. He knew what he was talking about. He just individualized for the project. They had to put on a lot of the holes in the wall, they fixed it all up, and cleaned it all up so I can't tell that they were there. When they do wall insulation, they had to put a hole in the wall every foot so that they could put the insulation in there. They were excellent. It has been effective. It has kept the temperatures inside the house down.

We ordered the door on February 18, 2014 and it was delivered and installed on March 10, 2014. The installation went perfectly. This company is very professional in service and installation. The installers not only put in the door without incident, but made sure that any surrounding surfaces were inspected for installation damage and repaired if needed. They were professional and took the time to make sure that the installation was done properly. We had used this company in 2003 to install another slider and were very pleased at that time as well, thus the repeat. We are now in the process of replacing 20 windows in our home. Gary, the company rep, is very knowledgeable about the product. There is no "high pressure" sales with this company. They come to your home and present their product. Since we have some other installation issues, the company has scheduled their staff to measure our windows while also investigating how to install the windows with the added consideration of protecting an aluminum patio cover from damage. The 2003 door latch broke and since the door was under warrantee the company immediately replaced and installed it. When the 2014 door was installed, the installers took extra time to check and fix the screen slider from the old door that was not working properly. This is going above and beyond their duties. It was an added bonus when I discovered that the company offered a special $200 discount in the Angie's catalog. The discount was immediately deducted from our contracted amount. I highly recommend this company for their product and excellent service.

The two young men arrived early before 8:00am but wait in the truck until 9:00am. They were very polite, well manner. The first thing they did was to inspect the attic then put together a game plan. The entrance to the attic required a ladder and a plan to carry insulation materials. The two young men were very professional and organized in getting the job done in less than six hours. They laid down a plastic tarp to protect my floor. Afterward, they took a picture of the completed job. Yes, I would recommend to my friends and neighbors.

According to our records, you came into our showroom on July 17th and requested a quote for replacement windows to be installed. We normally do not quote installed jobs without seeing the job site conditions. You did not want to set an appointment with us but we agreed to email an estimate to the address you provided based on the information you provided to us. We tried to email the quote to you the following day. Unfortunately, the email you gave us did not go through. You also did not want to give us your phone number so we had no way of contacting you to follow up. Please contact me personally and I will be sure to get you the information we have waiting for you here at the office. Thank you, Steve Anderson, president Progressive Insulation & Windows (818) 518-6659 cell sanderson@proiw.com

The sales representative was both prompt and professional. The work was scheduled and completed in a timely manner. What makes this company stand out is how they handle unexpected issues that can arise on construction projects. As a general contractor for over 25 years, I have dealt with many specialty contractors. On this particular project, we had a small issue that came up. What makes this company stand out is how they dealt with and immediately remedied the situation. When informed of the issue, the owner himself along with his best people came out, assessed the situation, and came up with a game plan. The problem was quickly addressed and resolved. The final result was an installation that was excellent. I know as a contractor that those of us in the building trades are faced at times with a less than admirable reputation for quality and timeliness. As far as I am concerned, Progressive Insulation and Windows is the gold standard for quality, craftsmanship, and professionalism. I would not hesitate to use them again in the future and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of their services.

Sales rep went above and beyond and brought samples to my condo so that I could get colors approved by our HOA. Installation was scheduled promptly and when the guys arrived, they worked quickly and efficiently and cleaned up after themselves. I highly recommend Progressive.
