They came out anyway, so I decided to discuss the project with them. It didn’t go how I wanted it to go, so I asked them to leave. Yesterday I received a bill and a notice about a lien process that was initiated on 3/21/2013, even though they did not do any work for me. I tried to ask for a copy of a bill and paperwork, but I did not get anything from them and the woman I spoke with hung up on me.
Description of Work: I called the company but we never confirmed the appointment date.

I obtained a business card for Nu Air while my ex-landlird was getting quotes to put HVAC in our almost-ex rental. The man who came to give a quote seemed professional and knowledgeable - and when making the initial phone call to set up a service appointment a couple of days later, the lady in the office was polite and helpful. I gave her all of our phone numbers and she booked us in for the 12 - 2pm slot on friday 7/20. My husband had taken the day off work to deal with some other contractors that were coming over - mainly to have our landline connected - and I took a half-day off, and ended up getting to the house at about 1.30pm. At that point, my husband had heard nothing from Nu Air - so I took the opportunity to ring them, to find out what the situation was and to give them our new landline number in case they needed to contact us. The man in the office very condescendingly told me " Don't worry Mrs. X! They haven't forgotten about you - they're just finishing up with the previous job and should be with you any minute now..." So, my husband and myself start doing other tasks - and suddenly its almost 5pm. Its now 5 hours from the start of their appointment window and we've heard nothing from them. I ring - again - and ask what's the holdup and where are our service engineers? After being put on hold for 5 minutes the man comes back with the same line "oh, sorry mrs X, they're just finishing up at the other job, they'll be with you within the hour.." At which point I point out that their appointment window was over three hours ago and that we're packing up to go back to our rental for the night. And that we'd both take time off of work to deal with this and that they hadn't even had the decency to ring us to appraise us of the situation. His immediate response was " oh, we left a message but you didn't get back to us". Which I know to be total bullpuckey. I worked as a dispatcher in a taxi company for several years, and one of the age-old tricks for mollifying customers is saying you rang and left a message but no one replied... I told that I knew for a fact he hadn't - as three hours ago I'd rang him with the new landline number and none of the other phone numbers we'd given him had voicemail messages. Very defensively he said ' well, I'm sorry!.." to which I said " thanks for nothing" and hung up. We've had no calls from the office either to reschedule (fat chance at this point) or to offer an apology. I hope that that really long and manpower-intensive job they dumped us for was worth it in the end, as I was quite prepared to have them do a yearly service on our equipment, if they'd done a good job initially So, in a nutshell - they have a decent office and give a good first impression. But organizationally they're total cowboys. As an aside, my ex-landlord decided not to use them either, as once the consultant was back in the office he not only upped the quote for installation by about $1000, he also couldn't be pinned down to an actual date to start work. I should have listened to my land lord...
Description of Work: I asked them to come to my new house to service and repair the HVAC system.
