Wasted time meeting with him. He did not provide the courtesy of a response saying he would or would not quote. That was fine because I gave a deadline for receiving quotes and simply worked with the quotes I did get. However, very unprofessional.

Leo and his crew where wonderful from the beginning to the end. They was very proud of their work and took the time to answer all our questions during the project. Leo supervised his workers on a dally base and devote the time needed to be at the job. The project was done within our budget and finish few weeks ahead of schedule. We where very happy with the final looks of the new guest house.

We interview 6 company and went with each company representative. Leo from Human Nature Design & Construction his the owner of the company. After meeting with him we decided to hire his company due to the following: Leo took the time to go thought every detail, he was very professional and knowledgeable, he is the owner of his company and was always available for us every time we needed his advice. Leo with our wish list design and build for us a beautiful master bedroom and master bathroom addition and remodel the kitchen, dining room and 2 of our bathroom. The crew was on time, respect our privacy, did great work. we where very happy with the final result.

Great experience. Appreciated the design expertise and guidance throughout the project. Always picking up the phone and showed up on time. We remodeled the existing patio, bathrooms and kitchen. Quality work was done by friendly workers.

Leo and his team were incredible. They took all of the time they needed to give us very detailed plans that answered everything the contractor needed to know. Leo went above and beyond to answer all of our questions patiently, even the stupid ones (it was our first time doing a renovation so we had no clue what it was all about). I would hire him again in a second, and I strongly recommend him. He made multiple visits to our house to do the measurements and then to explain his findings when he delivered the final plans. He remained involved throughout the actual renovation to make sure everything was going ok.

Leo and his crew installed a new attic ladder and renovated the attic so that I can use it as storage space. They put in electricity and lighting, as well as a circulating fan. The workers are punctual, clean and respectful. And most of all, they take pride in what they do. I don't know how many times they said: "I want to do it right". I appreciate that. The prices are more than reasonable and competitive in my book. I have used this company before, and will do so again.

We have plans and a permit, and we're in the process of making the addition a reality.

We are so pleased about our bathroom remodeling. We originally planned on keeping all fixtures in the same location but another design was suggested to us which worked much better. We were so fixed on the bathroom's original design we couldn't think outside the box. Leo introduced us to a trusted contractor whose workers were topnotch and Leo supervised the whole construction process. They finished the project within the original budget. We will have other remodeling performed by HMD in the near future.

Leo did a great job of helping us design our ideal kitchen. He was quickly able to identify potential problems and offer great solutions to solve them. Leo is very personable and easy to work with. Always promptly on time for our meetings. I recommend Leo and his team for their services.

First of all, I have to say that I have found my contractor and I feel that I can trust him to do further work for me in the future. Leo was recommended to me by my neighbors who used him to build a new permitted bedroom. I took a look at it and liked what I saw. Leo is an architect by trade, trained in Europe. He is super-responsive (as can be seen by his many responses to reviews). Texts are returned within minutes. If you reach his voicemail, you'll get a text within a minute saying that he is in a meeting and will call later. I have never had someone respond this quickly. He is very professional, not pushy, and does not have that "I know what I'm doing" arrogance and isn't constantly in "sales-pitch" mode compared to others, in my opinion. When there is an issue, he is quick to resolve it, and very reasonable when asking for more money. His price is competitive and came in about 10% below other quotes that I received (without knowing what those other quotes were). Originally, I was planning to have the contractor build me an entire closet, but Leo advised me to let him frame the walls, and to call a closet specialist (ended up being Closet World) to build the closet within. That was great advice, saved money, ad the closet looks impeccable now. I have not used him as an architect myself, but watched him work on some designs for other projects while overseeing the workers here, so he still does that as well. His manager, Jim, is very professional and nice. His workers were also great. No complaints. Knowledgable, quick, professional. Very concerned about cleaning up, laying down protective paper and plastic and so on. I am always very paranoid about being taken to the cleaners, and I just don't get that feeling from Human Nature Design. They seem like regular folks, just like you and me. I have some future work coming up. They have already gone and consulted specialists about work that I may not do for another year or so, just to help me get an idea what is feasible and what is not. Overall, I really appreciate Leo and his company and will definitely use them again, both as an architect and contractor.

Leo and his crew were absolutly amazing. Felt comfortable upon our first meeting. I had a vision and he made it all happen. He opened up all the walls in the master (as I had a dressing area devided by a wall before) The price was for labor only and I provided all the fixtures, vanity, lighting, Free standing tub, toilet and carerra for the floors and shower. Leo was on the job every day sometimes twice. We did alot of brainstorming and he was open to my ideas and I to his. Job finished right on time. I would definatly use him again. I wish I could share the before and after photos, it came out gorgeous!!!!

Founder and Owner Leo Norel was very attentive to all the details and was ultra professional during the entire process. His crew were all punctual, professional, and respectful of the property and did an expert job. Every phase of the project went as planned or even ahead of schedule in most cases. A detailed work plan AND cost estimate for each phase was prepared for us so we could monitor the progress of the project. At each phase, we were at or ahead of schedule, and costs were on target with very few unexpected costs that weren't accounted for previously.

Leo was wonderful from the beginning until the end, He & his workers was professional, hard working, always on time , they work full week and on Saturdays if needed. they keep our house safe and clean during the construction. They answer all our questions & concerns during the design stage and during the construction as needed. Leo help us to stay within our budget and on time.

This is my second time using Leo with Human Nature Design and I'm every bit as pleased as the first!! My family relocated to a newer more moderately priced house and although we loved it, there were a few things about it we definitely hoped to change. Seeing as how I hoped to build a bungalo-sized sun-room behind our back wall, my wife was a bit worried (really worried) about the price.. Our kitchen had a weirdly positioned doorway that made it oddly tiny, and our bedroom had the same thing - pretty uncomfortable seeing as how the rooms weren't very large to begin with. Also, our bathroom was very ugly, and the Mrs. had always wanted a beachy-feeling bathroom.. I eventually called Leo randomly to ask a few questions and he was totally friendly and helpful. He actually chatted with me for half an hour, discussing my plan, (and my dog). After a few calls and a consultation we had a plan, and he gave me a pretty dead-on estimate, WE ARE SO HAPPY!! They tweaked the door positioning perfectly on both rooms, and they feel completely different and cozy. We've got the light-filled sun room we've always needed, (with a high vaulted ceiling i didn't even know was an option). Lastly, the bathroom turned out great, with a whole tile motif that my wife loves, and i must admit has a totally oceanny vibe. As usual the crew was totally respectful and great with my kids and pets, super happy! i jhave a few other additions in mind. :)

Leo was very professional, the job was done on time as promise, He keep the original budget within 250$ extra, I felt very computable with his the courses at my house. I was very happy with the final product.

Leo provided detailed alternatives and was very helpful in evaluating different design solutions. He took he time to research and explain city codes so we could determine the best outcome for our project. He was very conscious of our budget concerns and made every effort to provide us with quality design choices to achieve our goals. It went very well. They delivered what they said they would. Leo was attentive to what I wanted my home to look like and feel. They were on time and kept on budget and the workers were courteous and professional. I felt like I could depend on them to take care of the rest of my home while working on the new parts and were respectful of my belongings and pets. I would recommend them to anyone.

I bought my first home and this is the first time I do re-modeling. I had 5 estimates from 5 top contractors from Angie?s list. Leo?s estimate was not the lowest but came close to the others. Also, he is the only one who sketched out the re-modeling plan. Most importantly, I find that he listens well and not head-strong. The last thing that I want is to be bossed around by a contractor. I had the feeling that we can work well together. The contract was signed on a Saturday and the demolition started the same day because I was in a tight deadline to move in. During the re-modeling process, we kept in touch almost everyday by meeting, calls and texts. The progress was good. There was this linen closet that needed to be demolished and I was concerned there might be pipes behind the wall. As expected, there was a long big pipe but Leo was able to re-locate it without charging me extra. Also, I was naive about bathroom tiling and he told me about adding base tile molding which showed that he was not trying to cut corner with naive client. Leo also recommended a very good flooring guy (Renaldo) to sand the entire hardwood floor and fix a few broken parts. He also recommended Tampa Glass (slightly pricey but good quality and installation) to get a custom shower door. At the end, I also asked him to build a cat-walk in the attic and 3 wooden shelves in the storage room (with additional cost). I was pleasantly surprised when Leo offered me a free house cleaning as a bonus to celebrate the end of the re-modeling! All in all, the whole process was quite smooth and headache-free. There was some minor mis-communication but everything went according to plan. I think the only area for improvement was to tighten up the work at the end because I felt the progress had slowed down towards the end to finish off the storage area and to hurl away the debris. Nevertheless, I am still a satisfied client.

He came out to my house and I told him about the different things I wanted to get done. My immediate plan was to start with an extensive double living room remodel. Including replacing the flooring, installing new lighting, renovating 2 fireplaces, replacing 4 windows, installing new custom cabinets and niches, and arching the doorways, paint, and wallpaper. I also needed to do structural repairs in my patio. Previous estimates I had received were about $50,000.00. What can I say? I have expensive taste! I also told him that it was the beginning of a whole house renovation which would require architectural drawings because I was also planning on doing a room addition which included 2 bathroom remodels (previous quotes were roughly $75,000. I also intend to remodel my kitchen, master bedroom, tile the courtyard and pool (probably over $100,000 in costs). If I had known that $50,000 (or an eventual total of $225,000) in remodeling costs was not going to be enough money spent with him, I would not have wasted his time or mine.

I had a great experience working with Human Nature Design. Lavi (Leo) the owner was a pleasure to work with. My house, built in 1946 has some challenges and Lavi took was eager to help address those challenges. From the first meeting I knew they were the right firm to use. Always showing up on time, quick repsonses via email, phone and text, and working hard to meet each stage deadline are some of their positive attributes. After several weeks we together went to the city to secured my permit. I will definatly use Human Nature and design again. They are currently bidding out the construction portion of the project.

Leo is THE best. He's the most professional contractor I have yet to meet. He took a lot of time getting a feel for what I really wanted in my master bathroom and his price beat out the other 2 contractors I had spoken with. His crew was on time, neat, and friendly. He checked in with me every day with a progress update and I never felt intimidated when talking to him (contractors tend to be GRUMPY, but not this one). Overall, a quality person with a quality business. It was a wonderfully easy process, and the end result is beautiful. Leo is my contractor now and I will use him for all of my projects!

We decided not to go through with the work so we got the Big Deal refunded.
