Ben Hur Moving & Storage

We hired this company to move us locally over two weekends. They quoted me one price, but charged my husband a higher price and only sent 4 guys instead of 5. The second weekend they said they would correct this on the next invoice. They returned $27, much lees than it cost us. They cram everything in sideways, upside down, whatever. They lost part of my desk and damaged my printer by moving it on it's side. Cost me over $700 to replace them \. They only accept claims if you call them the day after they move you. Who can unpack everything in one day? Same old mover scams. They did signed the piece of my desk that they lost and they reimburse me for my printer. I appreciate it.

While we did not use their service, we talked several times with them and they were very nice. They reached out immediately to us and had good follow up.

I have a lot of stuff and it was no problem for them to accommodate. This was not the first time they moved me, they also moved me 2 years prior. The guys worked hard the whole time, only took a small break. They made sure everything was protected and packed it well. They where easy to talk to and direct, answered questions with out problem into regards to why they would pack things in certain ways. In both moves I have used them it has been flawless. I'm very happy and will use them again and recommend them to others.

I really like them and I think they're great. We had to leave our house but didn't have our other ready so they have to do two stops at the apartment and at our house's garage. They did a really good job with that. They are courteous and professional. We can tell that because they fixture everything. They did extra quality in there and we have a lot of just like it. They are very careful, nice and genuine guys. They were more flexible and worked as a team. The workers are personable and working really hard.

I've moved three times in last 7 years and I only use Ben Hur and recommend to all my friends. They are professionals, fast and reliable. As long as they are in business they are the ones I will go to.

We chose them because we had used them on a previous occasion with good results. Unfortunately, the workers were slow and disorganized and didn't do a professional job at all this tiime around. Furthermore, they brought a truck that was too small which was frustrating because they had confirmed what I was planning on moving the day prior. Additionally, they did a poor job of packing items which meant that kitchen items were mixed with bathroom items, bathroom items were mixed with bedroom items, etc.

It was great! The two-man crew was professional and thorough and did an excellent job in all respects. They also did a good job of reassembling furniture and cleaning up after themselves, and I appreciated that they asked if they could do anything else before leaving.

I find it a pleasure to be able to talk about how Ben Hur moving performed for me in my recent move. They were so professional and wonderful to deal with. Tom was a super STAR. From the very beginning he was so professional and made things real simple. I have moved before and the moving companies really screwed things up. But not with Ben Hur. The price did not change and they broke nothing. It was simply amazing to deal with professional and people who care about there customers. Hat's off to Ben Hur Moving LA. Hopefully I never have to move again. But, if I do then I have the people that will be moving me.

They did a beautiful job the first time. The second time they moved us, I was loath to pay them full price. I was very angry with the results. We moved out of state. They came to pick up the furniture in Long Beach. They moved it from our second story apartment and placed it in a one story house in Nevada. There was minor damage on a lot of pieces of furniture. We didn’t have the same group that moved us and it showed. The guy that drove the truck didn’t know how to back it up and get it into a three-car garage space without running over curbs and plants and all kinds of things. There was damage to the yard and the landscaping. The price wasn’t exceptional. They did manage to stay within the quote. They were prompt. They did as they said they would and in the time they said they would. The front office responded in a timely fashion when phone calls and messages were left and they knew what they were doing. The moving crew was quite irresponsive in handling things. They were not knowledgeable. They arrived late. They weren’t punctual. I will never use them again in the future.

They arrived just when they said they would. The foreman of the job introduced himself and his crew to me and my family, and explained what they would be doing. Then, they set to work harder than I have ever seen anybody work. I don't know where they found their employees, but they sure were good at what they did. All my heavy furniture was well-wrapped, including the legs. I collect sets of china, Herend animals, and glass paperweights. All my delicate things were carefully wrapped to be put into storage until my new place was ready. After my things had been in storage for about a year, I went to their facility to go through the crates, and found all my things in excellent condition. This isn't a large, faceless business, but one that's family owned and run. I always knew who I was taking to, and they knew me. When I called them, I didn't have to give them my name, rank, and serial number, because they knew who I was and what the job had been. This was very refreshing!

To begin with, the crew was late. The 2-man crew made up of the foreman who was slightly injured from an earlier move in the morning and a young man who was complete inexperienced. The foreman refused to call his boss to report his injury even though it hindered his movements. The younger man only moved when the foreman asked him to do something. It took 6 hours to pack the truck up (with most of the boxes already moved down the stairs for them). They were lazy and took their time while we were paying by the hour. The foreman was not cooperative when we made suggestions on how to pack the truck more efficiently and was very rude. At the new apartment, they took almost equally as long unpacking the truck and moving items. We ended up calling all our friends and family members to assist. After the move finished, we were on the phone with their boss for an hour summarizing our experience and refusing to pay the hourly price because of such inadequate and inexperienced movers. We suspect they were sub-contractors Ben Hur hired, however this reflects poorly on Ben Hur for not doing a better job vetting them.
