+ -1 moreNow 1 year & 3 months later city has approved the plans, however we are still waiting for our copies of our drafts. Brian still not returning our calls and emails. This has been a stressful and draining ordeal, I did a lot of crying it seemed that Brian just wanted his money and more of it, he did not deliver quality work. Didn't seem interest in working with his clients, has long as he got his money that's all that mattered to him. Brian mentioned he has been in business for 30 years. I feel bad for those people who also got ripped off. My next step is to write to the Better Business Bureau. Lousy job he did. I wish I knew of Angie's List before hiring him.
Description of Work: Met Brian at the Orange county home show, he seem professional, honest and reliable. He quoted $5000 and approximately 3 months to complete. Showed 3 plans that were trouble, he did listen to what we wanted. My husband and myself had to draw up our own plans, which Brian added to the plans to be in budget. We showed a contractor who said it would be 50,000 more then what we intended. We asked Brian to correct the his plans so it can be in our budget, he said it would cost an addition $1,000 to draw up. I was not happy but still went along since we were already $5,000 in the hole. By this time 8 months had past with several calls and Brian not returning them. Spoke with Michele and Michael who are family members of Brian who always gave excuses for Brian for not returning our calls. On top of that we needed $1,800 to pay for for an engineer plus $400 to make copies for bids to contractors.

+ -1 moreScott & Associates sells the idea of a wonderful family business and delivers absolutely nothing. I just wish I had checked him out on Angie's List before we hired him since now he has our $6,000 and we have nothing but a big headache.
Description of Work: We met Brian at a home show, he came out to our home and did a great job selling his business. He did provide us drawings that we liked, but when it came to plans it all fell apart. First he said that the city (Lakewood) required engineering and it would only be a couple of hundred dollars. The engineer he referred us to called, the quote was $900. Brian then went on vacation and did not answer any calls or e.mails for 2 weeks. Messages left at his office were also not returned. When his son finally called us back 3 weeks later, it somehow was all our fault, and silly women must have misunderstood. There was constant miscommunication between he and his son Mike. Brian would tell us one thing and something else to Mike who would then call us with different information. Plans were submitted in early June '06, it is August 23rd and we have just been told it will be 2 more weeks.....

+ -1 moreTHIS MAN SOLD HIMSELF AS BRIAN SCOTT AND ASSOCIATES. HE TURNED OUT TO BE A ONE MAN SHOW. WE SIGNED A CONTRACT 11/04. HE HAS BEEN VERY SLOW TO GET PLANS BACK. WITH ONE MORE GLITCH OUT HIS CONTROL WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR PLAN APPROVAL. HE DOESN'T HAVE GOOD FOLLOW-UP AND SO MANY EXCUSES WHY HE CAN'T CALL OR GIVE UPDATE ON HIS WORK. WOULDN'T RECOMMEND HIS SERVICE TO ANYONE!
Description of Work: CAME OUT, ESTIMATED, AND SOLD HIS COMPANY FOR BID ON THE CONTRACT. HE WAS VERY GOOD WITH HIS SELLING TECHNIQUE.
