Power Pro Plumbing

Water heater (9 years and 8 months after purchase with 9 yr warranty) pilotight went out and wouldn't restart on New Years Eve. Alvin got it to restart. Alvin also was able to get to my house earlier than the expected window.

Power Pro was amazing. I called a little after 9am and a tech was at my house by 11am. I had received a quote from another company but was not getting the response back to do the job in a timely manner. Not only was Power Pro quick and professional, they were ready to do the work.

My service window was between 3 and 5pm. At 4:45pm I got a text that the plumber was 45 minutes away. An hour later I finally called the office for an update. It turns out the poor guy had checked in with the office an hour ago to let them know he was stuck in bad traffic from an accident. I was surprised that they hadn't forwarded that update to me, considering the efficient texting notification system they have. Nathan finally arrived around 6:30pm and was able to quickly assess and fix the problem. He was very professional and friendly and did a good job, no complaints there. But it's frustrating when you're quoted and ultimately charged almost $200 for a service that ended up being much simpler and quicker than expected. But by this time we had been without a kitchen sink for 2 days and it was after 7pm, so I wasn't about to start calling around for other estimates. I'm satisfied with the service itself. But, while I realize all plumbers are notorious for quoting and charging the maximum regardless of what the work ends up being, I probably won't use Power Pro again.

I left the house in the morning to discover a shallow gully and some toilet paper in my front yard near the sewer cleanout access--the sewer line had backed up into the front yard. Not good, needed emergency attention since this meant I couldn't use the toilet (or any water for that matter) without risk of a large sewage spill in my front yard. We had purchased the house 5 months prior and had the sewer line hydrojetted about 4 months ago due to known root intrusion in the old clay tile pipe. The house was built in 1962 and from the sewer inspection during escrow we knew there would need to be some future work and likely repair (video of the line was inconclusive due to root obstruction) but hadn't expected a backup so soon after hydrojetting! The first plumber I called scheduled me for a 2-4pm window the same day so I called Power Pro and they said they could have a technician out between 8:30 and 10am. So I lined them up! Unfortunately they did not arrive on time but I did receive two additional phonecalls, one at 10:45 and one at 11:45 to let me know they hadn't forgotten about the appointment and they had a service technician on the way. Jorge arrived at the house at noon and recommended an inspection of the pipe and relining as necessary. This would require diggin a 4'x4' pit in the front yard, a camera of the line to determine the extent of the clog/damaged areas, and then trencheless relining of the pipe with an epoxy cured fiberglass liner. The original quoted price sounded high to me (had done some previous research on sewer repair) and I did have another plumber lined up later that afternoon to provide another quote if Jorge and I couldn't agree on a price. However, he worked with his supervisor to find some cost savings and indicated he could call his crew to complete the work the same day so I agreed. Jorge went to work digging a pit in the front yard while he waited for the rest of his crew to arrive. Three other men arrived by 1pm and made quick work if dismantling the existing cleanout to get access to the mainline pipe. I used this opportunity to get some other quotes from Jorge for a replacement water heater and addition of a pressure regulator on our water supply line--these were items we had been collecting quotes for that were identified in our initial home inspection. The initial prices were higher than the other two quotes we had so Jorge worked with his supervisor again to see what kind of cost savings he could get us. He was ultimately able to match the next lowest quote for both items so I agreed to have the work done because, again, he promised it could be done the same day. Two more service technicians arrived at the house by 3pm to get to work on the water heater and the same two installed the pressure regulator. The whole crew wrapped up somewhere between 6 and 7pm but Power Pro did not charge any additional service fees for the evening work and stuck to the original agreed upon pricing. I've rated pricing a B since our agreed upon price for water heater and pressure regulator were higher than one of the other two quotes we had--but the convinience of having all the work done the same day was well worth it, not to mention we had six people working at our house that afternoon and early evening. The whole team was professional. Despite arriving much later than expected, the office courtesy calls and the availability of additional service men to complete all work same day bumped up an otherwise poor punctuality score to a B. Jorge and his team were all temendously professional. They took care to protect our white carpet (our water heater is inside the house), and took care not to damage any landscaping in our front yard. They cleaned up every work site when complete. I am very pleased with the final work products. Power Pro also provided photos of the underground work and work in progress for our records. This is a job we normally do ourselves (we have a real estate management company in Northern Calfornia) with a contractor on staff but were unable to head to the job site in So Cal that week. The cost from this company was astronomical--$427.50 to replace two valve stems.

We just bought our first house. Gas company detected a leak and shut our gas down just before we moved in. The warranty company assigned a plumbing company (I won't name them here) who came in and couldn't find the leak. The technician thought it was likely in the pipes in the walls and that we'd have to cut into them. The warranty company went through their list of vendors and nobody would come try to find the leak. They authorized me to go outside their list. I was searching on a Friday and I called a dozen companies in Los Angeles. Nobody could come out over the weekend....until I came across Power Pro Plumbing. They scheduled someone for Sunday morning. (the receptionist was very nice and helpful, btw). They actually were available a couple hours early than was planned. Which was great. Erik showed up and before he even ran his diagnosis, he looked at all our appliances and his instincts were crazy good. He knew where the main leak was before even running his diagnostic. Remember, the gas company and the first plumbing company couldn't find anything. Erik suits up and starts doing his thing. Sure enough he found a leak near our main heater, as he predicted. He fixes that. Runs another diagnostic and detects another leak. He crawls underneath our house and finds the other one. He fixes that. Runs a final diagnostic to check and everything is good. No more leaks. Gas company comes that night and concurs--everything is perfect. We've been nice and toasty ever since. And all gas appliances work great. Erik was not only super smart and efficient, he was a really nice guy and sensitive to what a miserable situation it had been for us before he arrived. He really turned a nightmare into a big win and I can't recommend him and Power Pro Plumbing enough. Don't waste your time doing any more research. Just go with these guys and you'll be really happy you did.

I learned not too many companies service floor furnaces. It was a relief to find Power Pro Plumbing is not only knowledgeable of old floor furnaces, but services them as well. Power Pro Plumbing was incredibly responsive and scheduled an appointment for a tune-up and cleaning the same day. Albert and Cody were the technicians that came out and they did a really great job. The recommended and installed a carbon monoxide sensor. The service was quick, clean, and very professional. I'm so impressed with the service that I intend to use this company again in the future for any plumbing and heating services.

i posted when we reached out to this company and George had taken the time to explain everything. Now the new pipes are in; the installation was completed yesterday and was completed more quickly than previously thought. The fellas cleaned up afterwards and although our week has been up and down, we have hot water again! George came back out today to adjust the water pressure and step by step we are getting our home back. Xtremely pleased...it's always a little scary to invest so much in a job and hoping that all will turn out...very pleased..

It went GREAT! From my phone calls with Amy and Maria to the service provided by Erik P., I was taken care of in the most professional and kind manner. They provide excellent customer service that is efficient and considerate. They keep you updated every step of the process. My Plumber, Erik, so far exceeded any expectations. He really, really knows what he is doing and is innovative with solutions. My bathroom facet installation had been badly botched by a handy man who left literally, everything, from the facet and sink to the workings under the sink, broken. Erik fixed it all in a short amount of time and had to engineer some solutions on the spot. Which he did with no worries or stress. He really understood the trauma a bad handyman can leave behind and was so helpful to me in the situation. I really appreciate all the people who helped me at Power Pro Plumbing and HIGHLY recommend them. Call them. You will be glad you did.

George was a pro's Pro. A great representative of Power Pro. Thank you Power Pro for the timely, professional, caring service. This has been a trying 7-10 days of appliances crashing, electrical outages and our A/C - Heater going off line. George took care of our A/C - Heating issues. Brought our NEST back on line in the house and the Phone App. Checked and confirmed our A/C and Heater units were functioning properly from the circuit breaker to the units to cool and warm air. Honestly, George & Power Pro restored our faith in service professionals. Thank You

UPDATE to my previous review on 8/20/2018: I can't figure out how to update my previous review. Power Pro Plumbing was quick to get in touch with me and called my Mom directly to work out the issue. They replaced the initial system that they installed at no additional cost to my parents. I'm very grateful in the manner of which they rectified this issue. The woman she spoke to on the phone (at Power Pro) was very kind and without any kind of attitude. My parents have already had them back at the house to work on a new plumbing issue.

I originally signed up for this general service agreement to get a better price on a water heater replacement. By signing up for this program, you get yearly inspections on plumbing, sewer, A/C and heater systems. I was apprehensive that this would lead to opening my house to someone who would come in and find a bunch of things wrong that needed that immediate repair. I was wrong. Two technicians showed up, spending over an hour. They checked all A/C systems, freon levels, suction temperature and pressure, electrical service connection, cleaned the condensing unit and vacuumed out the condensate drain. The crew was courteous, efficient and very professional. Didn't ask for a dime and I was impressed. The general service contract fee is $12.95 per month.

Erik arrived as scheduled and provided a thorough review for my plumbing problem. He went over the potential replumbing if the snake did not work. Luckily the line cleared. He did not mention if the plumbing caulking needed to cure before using. He did recommend a review of my plumbing system by his company. I appreciated his friendly manner.

Had to use rooter because clog went doen to ground floor. Drains are on 2nd floor. Very professional, neat and pleasant experience, for a drain cleaning experience !

Posting this for my parents since they don't have online accounts and if they submitted their review it would be a lot angrier. 100% Power Pro Plumbing sold my parents the wrong water softener for their home and is refusing to make things right. They have a large home on an acre and they sold them the smaller Nuvo water softener saying that they wouldn't have to change the filter for six months to a year which sounded great. Too bad they had to change the first filter after only 6 weeks of use and after opening the system to check it out, it was all red on the inside. My Mom called Power Pro Plumbing to discuss the issues and see what could be done and they said that they didn't have any filters currently in stock and to check Home Depot and they weren't sure why it was red on the inside. When my Mom asked why they were already having to change the filter when it's supposed to last at least 6 months they said that they didn't realize that they used so much water...My parents live on an acre, with a pool, my sister and her daughter, as well as multiple animals...Not to mention our family with grand-kids come over on a regular basis. How does Power Pro Plumbing base who receives the different sizes of water softeners or do they care? My parents paid $2,800 for the smaller Nuvo and it's not working as it was described by Joe Ochoa (Sales / Service Tech) and Power Pro Plumbing. They offered to sell my parents a second additional unit for $1,600 (same as they already bought for $2,800) and for $500 more they could fix the red issue in the filter (due to iron in the water). Why would they pay more money to have a second unit? The whole idea is to have a smaller water softener that needs little maintenance. How about you replace the smaller unit with larger one (called the Manor)? That is what should have been installed in the first place. Their way of fixing it is double the space needed for the second softener and now to replace two filters instead of one? Why don't they test the water to see if it has a lot of iron in it beforehand? That way the system stays clean and operates properly. It doesn't sound like they care about these units...Put in whatever without any testing or basic usage questions. My Mom would have told him to put the larger version just to be safe. That is just her style. Why cut it close? Joe Ochoa the Sales/Service Tech sold them the wrong system and he hasn't followed up to make them happy. They've called multiple times and no one cares that they are dissatisfied with their service. My parents are left with an expensive product that doesn't work as promised by Joe Ochoa or Power Pro Plumbing. Power Pro did extensive work for my parents before which is why they thought they could trust them again and instead it left them feeling taken advantage of and extremely dissatisfied. Don't take advantage of your elder customers. They are excellent repeat customers.
