The Peerless people handled everything expertly, explained what and why each task was necessary and charged very reasonable rates for the necessary additional work. they were also very neat and punctual, which I appreciated.
Description of Work: Peerless installed several major kitchen appliances. There were several related issues that had to be handled that were not obvious until work was underway. For example, the dishwasher required additional work because there was a water softener element, 2 electrical outlets had to be relocated, required clearances for several appliances necessitated some minor carpentry.

We found Michael/PEERLESS INSTALLATIONS on the list that the sales company passes out to their customers. The seller clearly state this list is purely a reference list and they do not stand behind the installers. We called Michael, owner and operator of PEERLESS INSTALLATIONS, for an estimate for the installation of our kitchen hood. He came out to our house, gave us an estimate, and asked us for a $300 deposit for when and IF we decided to have him install our hood. We foolishly did so. We called Michael to tell him we decided on another installation company, at which time he told us "his time is worth something" so he was going to charge us $150 for coming to our house (we were never told prior to this that he charges any fee to come out for an estimate). We thought $150 excessive, but we agreed and he told us he would send us a check for the balance of $150. That was several months ago. Each time we called him to ask where our check was he would say the "check is in the mail" and that he "owns a multi-million dollar company." To date we have yet to received a check from PEERLESS. Frustrated, we decided to tell Michael/PEERLESS we would call the company we purchased the hood from about our dispute. Michael's reply was he "didn't care, since PEERLESS INSTALLATIONS was no longer in business." We called the company that sold us the hood and they told us PEERLESS WAS IN FACT STILL in business. A lesson to all: 1. Before calling anyone for an estimate, ask if there is a fee for an estimate. 2, Never give any one a deposit unless you get it IN WRITING the deposit is fully/partially refundable. 3. If you have a gut "feeling" about the service person, TRUST YOUR FEELINGS (intuition)! Small claims court is not practical, given the amount in dispute; so this post on Angie's List may be our only consolation for a man and his company that has only exhibited DISHONOR.

Scheduled work next day after I called. Called in advance to set up schedule. Showed up on time. Two men, very efficient, skilled, and professional. Showed me what they were doing and explained. Cleaned up afterwards and removed all packing materials. Had everything they needed for the job. Charged a reasonable amount for parts needed. In and out in 30 minutes.
