Dan Grisa is the most attentive and detailed contractor I have ever worked with. He was always available and answered my questions and concerns almost immediately. His crew was efficient and accommodating as my sister was living there during the last part of the renovation. The work they did was beautiful and they came back for days after to correct the minor mistakes. He also was great about the many add-ons at the end of the job. His prices were fair and I was happy to pay him for an excellent result.
Description of Work: Remodeled kitchen and bathrooms, new laminate floors, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, dry wall, painting, kitchen cabinets, backsplash, sink, bathroom vanities, mirrors, etc.

Thank you! Was a pleasure working with you on the remodel project for your sister. We know you were under a very tight deadline to turn this project around in 30 days and your sister was very accommodating (and super sweet) to allow us to return to complete the punch list items after she had moved in. We are here for you whenever you need us!
Dan Grisa, President of Grisa Enterprise, provided an initial bid which he was able to stick to. He and his crew removed an old bathtub and replaced it with a beautiful walk-in shower. They also did addition tiling around the bathroom mirror. He opened up the kitchen by removing a cabinet and the wall behind it. He was able to find matching granite to extend the kitchen counter top. Most important, Dan was very reachable and responsive to our questions and concerns. We plan to use him again and highly recommend him and his remodeling crew.

We are house flippers that worked on a 7,000 sq ft mansion in Rancho Mirage to bring it back to its former glory and then some. We contacted Grisa based on their positive Angie's List reviews along with some other vendors as well to bid the job. When we met with them they were professional and their volume of experience working on hundreds of rehabs over the past years was apparent. We use detailed scopes with line items of what we need done on our projects. They took the scope and over the next few days worked out a line item cost for each item. We hammered out a price that worked for both parties and we decided to hire them based on our level of confidence at that time. Luckily they continued to deliver quality workmanship, good management, responsiveness when issues arise, excellent communication of progress with photos, and in the end a great product. We're very pleased with how the job went and would hire them again.

When I hired Grisa on January 19 and started working with their project manager, I was told the project would take 2 weeks and they could start within 10 days. The project was not completed until June 10 - a total of 17 weeks. There were some delays at the beginning that were understandable - waiting for drawings to be created and for permits, however work did not actually start until March 2. At that point I assumed it would take around 4 weeks and I could move in at the beginning of April, that did not happen. Around the end of April the project manager quit and Dan himself took over the project. At that point he told me it would take another month to complete the work. There were no surprises inside the walls, no plumbing or wiring issues that delayed the project, no weather issues or structural problems. All in all this project took this long because it was poorly managed from start to finish. | |The work done was average at best. I was constantly finding problems with the work done and had to request to have things done again. Nothing was done right the first time. | |In the end Dan was very good about working with me on the price of the project and did discount a few of the items because of the delay and because the original estimate was so far off the actual cost. | |Having read such great reviews about the work done by Dan Grisa, I was very surprised at the service I received. If you do choose to work with this company, be sure to get an accurate quote up-front and a written timeline.

I am extremely apologetic for your experience and it is not reflective of the work we do, as can be seen from the many other "A" quality reviews we have worked so hard for. While your project did take 17 weeks as you stated, we did not actually start any work until week 5, as you decided you wanted to get city permits for the work, which required plans/drawings and city approval. You also decided to go with custom-ordered cabinets rather than off-the-shelf cabinets from Home Depot, which also delayed the project by another 3-4 weeks, and then decided to have us repaint the entire condo, as well as several other change-orders, all which added more additional time to the project. I did have a project manager for a short period of time, but unfortunately, on your project, there were some issues with his communication and also with some pricing that he provided. I do feel and agree that your project could have run smoother and you would have been happier at the end if there was better communication from him along the way. As far as quality issues, the only issues I'm aware of were two items: 1) When the ceilings had the acoustic textured ceilings removed ("popcorn" removal) the existing underlying drywall had not been properly taped or mudded when the condo was built. There were repairs done to some of the more prominent areas that were found, but there were additional areas that you pointed out, and that were fixed, all at no additional charge. 2) Some of the white kitchen cabinets that were ordered for your project came from the manufacturer in a slightly different shade of white from the others, and instead of delaying the project further by having them replaced by the manufacturer, we opted to repaint all the cabinets in a uniform white, at our own cost. If there are additional items that you are not happy with, please make me aware of them so that I can make them right. I did step in approx 1 month before your project was complete to personally see things through until their completion, and I did honor the pricing provided (although it was inaccurately low on some items) and also provided some further additional discounts because of the overall project time frame being more than you had originally expected.

It didnt because they stated they could not find the wood, altho the other two contractors that bid COULD! I have changed the original rating as the secretary emailed me, stating my review would hurt their business

Our bid turn-around time is generally 3 business days or less, and often times is same-day. With your extensive fence repair, there was custom-sized wood needed in order to match the existing fence and it was not available at Home Depot or Lowe's. We disclosed to you that it would take approx 2-3 days to get a quote back from Houston Lumber in Indio, which is the supply yard we use for custom-ordered wood, and so it would take 3 days to provide you with a quote. You wanted, or more accurately demanded, a bid back within 12 hours and that the work had to start within 2 days. We communicated to you that this would not be possible because of the above. It is likely that the other contractors you met with ball-parked their estimates without sourcing the exact wood needed for your custom fence repair. We responded to every one of your messages within several hours, even after-hours and over the weekend on a Sunday, and could not have been any more responsive or communicative. We also feel that 72 hours is a reasonable amount of time to provide a bid, and I do not apologize for making sure we are providing you with accurate pricing.

The experience was very disappointing. I had to take off work for the day to meet the Estimator. No one showed and when I called the office they informed me that there was a family emergency and I would need to reschedule - not much help after taking the day off work. When I insisted, they arranged for another person to stop by later in the day. A bid was promised 5 days later but after a week, when I called, the bid was not ready. It was promised the following Monday but did not arrive for another 10 days. Was shocked when the bid included an entire scope of work that was never discussed and was $$$$$ more than other bids. I did not want anything to do with this operation but cannot really comment on their work.

(removed member name), I am sorry for the experience you received, but as we discussed with you on the phone when you made the bid request, we were too busy at the time to take on any additional work and referred you to another contractor. We were not the ones who met with you or provided the bid. I appreciate the feedback on the other contractor we referred you to, and we will not be referring any other future work to them in the future if the experiences are not good for the people we are referring them to. -Dan Grisa

Dan and his people were fantastic. This started before the contract was given. Judy Kugle had worked with my husband and me to design the bathroom and choose the materials. In April 2014, she sought to get contractor bids for us and failed completely. Initially, no one would respond; when they did, their bids were very very high. I joined Angie's List and you sent us the names of 3 possible contractors in the area. Dan Grisa responded immediately and met with Judy at our home. (By this time, we were 500 miles away at our other home at Lake Tahoe.) She was impressed that he had an iPad with him and did the math and bid on the spot. She passed everything electronically on to us. We approved Dan's bid. He and his guys did a beautiful job. As, perhaps, with all construction jobs, there were "oopses" and surprises. Cabinets didn't arrive or were the wrong size. (This was not Dan's fault.) The large mirrors they needed to leave in place extended below the level of the backsplash they were putting in, and there was a "wobble" in the mirrors that made it difficult to create a water-tight seal between the countertops and the backsplash. They figured it out. It took some special effort to fit the waterfall cascade of the countertop to the existing side of the counter and bathtub - they figured it out. They even did a number of extras - including painting light bulb "burn" spots on the ceiling above the counters, which I hadn't asked for. And they cleaned up BEAUTIFULLY. And, when the job was done and they had been paid in full, when we arrived in Palm Springs in early December, we found that there was something wrong with the valve stems in one of the very expensive sink faucets; the hot water faucet was leaking. This has taken several trips by Grisa to seek to change out the valve stems - and work by Judy Kugle to get replacement valve stems from the faucet manufacturer. This is not their job; they did it anyway, well after they could have just walked away. I have recommended them to the property manager of our condo association. We have asked them to bid on fixing and replacing some mirrored doors and some windows. I trust them and like them, and their work is beautiful.
Description of Work: Dan Grisa and his people worked with Judy Kugle, designer at KBC of Palm Springs (Kitchens, Baths and Closets), to renovate our 30-year old bathroom. Judy created the design and ordered the material; Dan interfaced closely with her and did the construction. This included tearing out old sinks, cabinets, tile around the tub, towel bars, etc. and replacing with new ones. All of this took place over a number of months while we were 500 miles away.
Dan and his crew did an excellent job. He kept us updated on a regular basis, the work was beautiful and on schedule. There were no modifications needed when we did the final walk thru.
Description of Work: Install new tile flooring in kitchen and living room areas. New carpet in bedrooms. New granite counter tops in kitchen. Updated lighting. Painting thru out the condo.
I can't say enough nice things about Dan and his entire team. He arrived on time and was very thorough when accessing the job. He is a great communicator and covered all the bases. I had a tight deadline and he completed the job on time and on budget! Extra items that I added during the remodel were very reasonable! AMAZING!! If you want an honest, dependable contractor, then Dan is your man!!! I would recommend Dan and his team to anyone and will use him again if I have the opportunity.

Have not started the work, but the bidding process went very well.
Description of Work: Grisa Enterprises (Brandon, to be specific) was very responsive in providing bids for work, and ultimately among the most professional contractors I have worked with. We are still in the process of deciding who will do the work (waiting for some doors and windows, and finalizing competitive bids), but Grisa Enterprises remains at the top of the list. A little more expensive than others, but quite responsive when we clarified the scope, and pressed them to be competitive.

We selected Grisa Enterprises on the recommendation of our Realtor. We were not disappointed. Dan provided a detailed scope of work and projected cost schedule. From start to finish, the project took approximately six months (which was accurately projected in the original schedule.) We recognize that a lot of Dan's jobs are "flips," which ours definitely wasn't. Dan was very flexible with our desires and requirements. We elected to source our own cabinetry and custom stair railing. Dan had no problem with this and assured that there would be a great dovetailing of his crews and the outside contractors. During the course of the renovation, many details evolved and changed. Dan and his crews were very receptive to these, and worked hard to assure that they were done well and still keep us on schedule. In particular, our electrical changes continued to evolve throughout the job. While his electrical crew might have been frustrated at times, the nevertheless did exactly what we wanted.
Description of Work: Dan Grisa was hired to renovate a 2-story, 2,700 sq. ft. condominium built in 1974. The job included extensive drywall repair, kitchen and bathrooms remodeling, extensive electrical and lighting changes, hardwood flooring, and much more. Probably the best testimonial we can give is that Dan responded to every request over the course of the project, and assured that they were all completed to a high standard of excellence.
Project was done on time and quality was good.? I didn't need to call him back to touch-up his work.? He did his own finish punch list before I went to the property.? He provided me a copy of that list and that work was done before I walked the job for the final payment.? I found no additional work to be done. During the project additional (previously unseen) work was necessary.? He provided a revised scope of work to reflect that extra work.? He priced this additional work consistent with his pricing on the original contract.? In other words he didn't gouge me for that extra work.? I was very satisfied.
Description of Work: Remodeled a flip house in Desert Hot Springs, included misc repairs, paint, flooring, appliances, etc.
Dan did an amazing job in a very short time frame. We had 10 days to complete a long list of work at our new home prior to leaving on a vacation. We created a laundry room from an existing closet, replaced several plumbing fixtures, added and relocated plumbing and electrical throughout the home, installed new cabinetry, fans, and lighting, and repaired tile. Our job included the need for city permits so that put added pressure on the schedule. Dans crew were amazing. There were professional, clean, and their work quality exceeded our expectations. I was doing some work in the home myself during the process and Dan's crew were always happy to help when I needed a quick hand. We also added a few extras tasks in along the way and they handled all of them without delay or compliant and at a reasonable cost. On the day we moved in Dan had his cleaning crew in early before our movers arrived to make sure the home was ready for us. I am a Realtor and have recommended Grisa Enterprises Inc to my clients. As you can imagine I am very careful about recommending contractors. All of the clients Dan has done work for have been extremely satisfied with the work performed. I would highly recommend Grisa Enterprises Inc. to anyone needing an honest, quality focused, and reasonably priced general contractor.

We selected 3 contractors to bid on our work. I provided a reasonably detailed work order describing the major components of the work to each of the bidders. In addition to opening the kitchen, the job included installing quartz counters in the kitchen, bar, guest bath. Installing new sink and fixtures. Paint the entire interior. Restore kitchen cabinets. Install microwave oven and vent, install garbage disposal. All the contractors responded but Grisa Enterprises broke down each major line item and estimated costs in detail breaking down electrical, plumbing, and other major components. He also spent considerable time explaining the construction process while he walked the job site to produce his estimate. Dan and his entire crew, especially his on-site manager Oscar, were just great. The job started and on time and the crew arrived each morning at 7 a.m. leaving late day. They worked hard and did a great job. Each day they cleaned the site as much as practical and after the dry-wall demolition changed all the air conditioning filters. They left the job on the final day after having a cleaning crew go through the house top to bottom leaving it better than ever. I recognize that all the additional services were somewhere included in the bid but it was nice to know that it was done we could start with a clean slate. We added several additional items to the work order including installation of marble counter tops in the master bedroom and custom framed mirrors over the sinks and make-up vanity and with this only increased the completion date by a couple of days. We have had several homes including new construction but Dan Grisa was the finest contractor that we worked with. He kept us informed throughout the process returned all calls. He is particularly adept at texting and when you send him a text he is back to you in minutes. We would refer him to anyone looking for a quality job, done on time and on budget.
Description of Work: We recently moved to Rancho Mirage from the east coast. We purchased a home that lacked adequate natural light and wanted to open up the kitchen to the living area. We were not familiar with any of the construction trade in the area so looked to several sources including Angie’s list for advice.
Grisa Enterprises has done work for me several times over the past year. ?I finally decided to take the time to write a review because of the excellent service they have provided time and time again. ?I recently noticed a leak in my home on a Sunday night and called them Monday 7am. ?They were at my home by 9am and immediately went to work and located the leak within a short time. ?They quickly stopped the leak and began demo & repairs. ?They also worked with my insurance company which wasn't an easy task. Grisa Enterprises were extremely accommodating with a difficult time frame I had in which the work needed to be completed. ?Over the last year, they have done handyman work, plumbing and electrical work in a friendly, professional and courteous manner. ?Because of the consistent outstanding service I've received over the last year, I would recommend them without hesitation.

They have done a lot of work for us and our experience with them has been excellent. The owner of the company is very prompt and on time. He knows what he is talking about and he is very clear when he gives you the scope of work when you are requesting something. When you are not sure about what you want, he helps and guides you. He stays on budget and on time. His crew is really polite and considerate because we live in our home so it is not like our house is empty when they are doing things. All of the work that they have done for us has been excellent. We would use them again 100% in the future if necessary.

Dan with Grisa Enterprises, is the most efficient and skilled contractor I have ever met. We met on a job site of a home that I was selling and he was finishing up some remodel hired by the homeowner. I really liked his work and started calling on him to bid jobs for my clients that are either purchasing a home and want upgrades and or a Seller that might get a little more bang for the buck if they do some upgrades before it hits the market. Dan and his crew are so efficient and will do anything from a small painting job to a complete remodel. You will forever want to call on his services for everything! Great Company! Do yourself a favor and call NOW!
Description of Work: A wide varity of Home Improvements and Remodeling
What an incredibly great job by the entire team!! The project was a challenging one -- an older house that had been very badly abused and neglected for many, many years. Virtually every kind of repair was needed except the foundation. Dan's team did the vast majority of the work while accommodating me (doing some work myself) and a tile guy I hired separately. Given how much there was to do, Dan did a great job of identifying the line items of things that would need to be done right at the beginning. Since I was there most of the time, I could see how diligent the crew was, consistently doing quality work despite the many, many challenges they faced as the project progressed--and a lot can happen with such an old house over a two month period! Every member of Dan's team worked with integrity, skill, and professionalism. All of them went above and beyond my expectations.
Description of Work: REHAB. Replace/repair siding; improve weather proofing around windows; framing for through-the-wall ac unit and other structural modifications; exterior and interior paint, including replacing drywall where damaged; repair and reinforce shade structures; replace doors, including custom fitting; fix broken windows and screens; various electrical work such as installing light fixtures; tons of debris removal and clean-up.

Always, I said that, never, would I build a house. Then, total fire loss. My first GC & I parted ways. Panic at the thought of proceeding with the nightmare of finding another. Dan Grisa is a blessing. A GC can fulfill you--- or destroy you. I knew he would exceed my expectations. What I didn’t know--- my expectations have been exceeded exponentially. Every item. Every detail. What other GC’s mother would visit at the final walk-through--- pride & love? His suggestions are always 100% on target--- without the deafening, chilling ka-ching. Every team member can’t do enough for you--- they love their trade. On move-in day, unannounced, project manager was there in the wee hours when we arrived, fielded every phone call throughout the day, &, then, arrived at day’s end for the helpful hours. Dan came out on the Holiday, the following day, to make a few comfort adjustments. When I awoke the initial morning, I silently wished we could build another, beginning right then. I already miss the experience.
My wife and I just bought our new home and it had been abandoned for a while. We called Grisa Enterprises and Dan came out and gave us a quote for all the work that we needed and for a few extras that we wanted. They painted the whole house replaced the carpet up stairs and repaired all kinds of plumbing issues. We also had to have the garage door and motor replaced. The repairs turned out awesome and we have just completed the major part of the work and have scheduled them back for more. We highly recommend Grisa Enterprises.
