The wrong carpet was installed. I have the receipt showing what carpet I ordered but Carpet Empire installed a different, style, color and manufacturer. Not even close. I am taking them to small claims court. They installed wrong carpet at an acquaintances home too. Buyer beware. Mike Balian is not rational or fair.

1/05/2015 ? I purchased vinyl flooring from Carpet Empire in Cathedral City, CA. Purchase contract signed for $2,225.00. Deposit of $1,100.00 paid. Flooring to be installed in kitchen, dining room and bonus room (laundry and office area). 1/14/2015 (approximate date) ? I received a phone from the salesman telling me the cost would be an additional $465.00 which I agreed to. 1/21/2015 ? Vinyl flooring installed over existing vinyl floor. Installation took approximately 8 hours. ? Originally 1 installer and 1 assistant appeared to install new flooring. ? Gradually 5 others appeared to ?assist?. It appeared that these additional ?helpers? were friends of the 1st assistant. They were loud, laughing in the street, and exhibited extremely unprofessional behavior and did not appear to be concentrating on the job at hand. Several neighbors commented on the noise. ? The work appeared to be satisfactory. Early July ? I noticed 5 long strips of raised flooring flowing from one side of the cabinetry to the other in both the kitchen and the bonus room. During this period my husband became terminally ill; passing away on July 19th which delayed my response to the flooring issues. July 23rd or 24th ? I called Carpet Empire and spoke to Mike Thomlinson or Chip (have spoken to both of these people) and told them of the problem. They said they would send the installer out to look at the floor. 1 week later ? The installer inspected the floor and told me it could be fixed. A few days later ? Two men appeared and wanted to cut out 2 foot squares where each section of raised flooring existed and patch/glue it back in. I rejected this proposal to solve the problem: it would have resulted in 5 large patches (20 additional seams) within the flooring; there was no guarantee the patches would have been properly fit; seams create opportunity for later flooring movement, dirt catching and unsightly appearance. While the men were at my house, I phoned Carpet Empire and told them their proposed solution was not acceptable. Subsequently, I have made many phone calls to Carpet Empire. Each time they assured me they had ordered the new flooring and were ready to install once they talked with the owner. During one of these calls I was informed that Carpet Empire would not be responsible if the sub-flooring was damaged upon removal of their first installation. I expressed disagreement. There has been no installation as of this date.
Description of Work: Carpet Empire was contracted to install vinyl flooring in my kitchen, dining and laundry area. 10 days After signing the contract I was contacted and told they wanted another 465.00 to do the job which I agreed to. The installer brought 6 people with him who roamed around in and outside my home during the installation and caused commotion in the street which neighbors complained about. 5 months later I started noticing the floor lifting in 5 long strips across the floor. I contacted Carpet Empire and they came out to look; they promised to replace however I have contacted them several times since and they have not been responsive. Full details below.

It was very good as far as the estimate and everything. The guy kept calling me and he was very professional and very accommodating. The pricing seemed reasonable.
Description of Work: I got an estimate from Carpet Empire Plus for about 900 square feet and it was two bed rooms to be carpeted and then the living area and the dinning room, the kitchen and the bathroom were all going to get a type of ceramic tile.

Great flooring. we are pleased with vinyl and installation throughout. The installers spotted a problem, card us, and were able to work around it. Very professional.
Description of Work: We purchased new vinyl flooring and had installed
They helped me find the right carpet to have cut and bound into a huge area rug. Mike was so helpful and professional, as well as personable. It was quick, easy, and beautiful. |
I had trouble with getting them to come back and fix things, such as switching out the vinyl molding seeing as they told me they were going to put in wood molding. They put vinyl on the contract but verbally told me wood so they installed vinyl and the vinyl molding kept coming off. They are not a good company. I spent $3000 on linoleum and $2000 on carpet and the materials were of the lowest grade. I could have gotten laminate flooring from a different company. It look alright but I could have gotten a lot better for what I paid. It was not good on many levels.

THE PEOPLE PROMISED BUT DID NOT DELIVER. THE RESULT WAS WE MADE THE ADJUSTMENTS, NOT THEM. IT'S TOO UNFORTUNATE THAT IT HAPPENED. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THEM.
Description of Work: THEY ARE TO CHANGE THE CARPET IN ONE OF MY CLIENT'S ROOMS. THEY ARE TO MEASURE IT AND MAKE SURE THEY CAN MATCH THE CARPET IN THE LIVING ROOM, BUT THEY DIDN'T DO THAT AT ALL.

WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THEIR SERVICE. WE TRIED CALLING ABOUT A DOZEN OF CARPET CLEANERS TO COME OUT ASAP, BUT THIS COMPANY WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT COULD COME OUT RIGHT AWAY. THEY DID A GREAT JOB AND I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN. WE HAVE USED A DIFFERENT COMPANY BEFORE, BUT WILL START USING THIS COMAPNY NOW.
Description of Work: WE HAD A LEAK IN THE ROOF WHEN WE GOT A LOT OF RAIN. WE HAD TO HAVE SOMEONE COME OUT AND CLEAN THE CARPET BECAUSE WE STARTED HAVING A BAD SMELL.

THEY WERE GREAT! PROBABLY THE BEST COMPANY IN TOWN. I WOULD TELL EVERYONE TO USE THEM IF THEY NEED NEW CARPET OR NEW FLOORING. THEY WERE ON TIME, AND VERY NICE TO US. THEY HELPED US MOVE SOME OF THE FURNITURE AND GAVE US SOME EXTRA PADDING FOR THE SPORTS ROOM. MY PARENTS KNOW THE OWNER'S AND THEY ARE JUST GOOD PEOPLE ALL AROUND.
Description of Work: WE HAD REALLY BAD CARPET THAT KEPT ON TEARING EVERY TIME WE WOULD GET A SNAG IN IT. SO, WE REPLACED THE CARPET AND ALL DID SOME WORK ON THE KITCHEN FLOOR. ALSO REPAIRED SOME OF THE STRIPS.
