We had Darren install a walkway on the side of our property, about 13 1/2 feet in length. It was completed in stages, first digging out the ground and setting the brick ribbon. The next day they poured the concrete. There was a small problem that I noticed after our worker left. I called Darren's wife and she sent the worker back within 1/2 hour. Very quick response!! He fixed the problem and the outcome looks fantastic. I also had them put in a small planter to compliment the brick in the pathway. They did a fantastic job. I would recommend them and I would use them again.

Work was done in time and place was cleaned afterward.

A chunk of my block wall on the street side broke off and Darren repaired the hole.

From the beginning, Darren really went out of his way to help us achieve our goals (of creating a side yard capable of RV parking). This required several visits to our house and discussions via email to create a plan/estimate that would allow the most amount of space while adhering to building codes and permit regulations (which he seemed to be very well versed in). After you talk to Darren, you will see that he is clearly a man of principles. He loves what he does and takes pride in a job well done! Very little of the work was subcontracted out-- mainly the concrete. Darren was very hands on, in all phases of the project. The crew began the project on the day he said they would. Each phase from site prep to the final wall cap was completed in a timely, professional manner. Our yard/driveway was left in reasonable condition at the end of each work day. Overall, we are very very pleased with the final product. This is our first big construction job we'd ever hired anyone for and we were quite nervous about spending so much money. We can say now it is absolutely worth it! We have a fantastic new space that has earned us a lot of positive comments from friends, family and neighbors!

Darren arrived on time on both days and was very professional. He did all the work that was in the contract. My patio looks great and I am very happy with the result. I would use him again.

Darren and his assistant were meticules in every detail. The work was of the highest quality. They started with the footings, then layed block and rebar. Then filled each column with concrete and then layed stacked stone on each column and then installed masonry caps and they stayed right on schedule. The work is absolutely beautiful! He was wonderful! He arrived on time and was very professional. He thoroughly explained his plans step by step and what materials he would use. He told me about his family's masonry experience in England building castles and other projects he's done. I decided to get another estimate from another company whose estimate was lower ($400), and the project turned out awful! I regret not using Stonecraft. Just because he charged a little more, it would have been well worth it. Stonecraft has superb ratings and I wish I would not have ignored this. I am still kicking myself. I don't want anyone else to make the same mistake I did.

They perform quality work. They were very responsive. I would use them again in the future.

The project went as Darren promised. He was punctual and reliable. He also was very responsive whenever my wife and I had questions or concerns about the work. Darren is a mason, so he did alot of the brickwork himself, with the help of one assistant. This is not some guy who sits in an office all day bidding jobs and then sends others to do the work. He cares about the project and wants to do it right and satisfy the customer. As for the concrete, he has worked with the same family-owned concrete business for years, and he also was out there supervising and working with them the day they poured all the concrete. Best of all, Darren was flexible. My wife and I had a few quirks about the way we wanted things done. He did them as we asked, without any battle of wills, etc., like you sometimes get from some contractors.

Darren is awesome. He's professional, creative, upbeat and he and his team do fantastic quality work. My husband and I bought a house 1 year ago with a pretty good size backyard that is empty and boring. A blank canvas. Since we love to entertain, we needed a centerpiece area for the backyard, but we wanted something inviting and out of the ordinary. The tricky part is that we had a relatively small budget for wanting something unique and a bit creative. So we're "that" client: big plans, small budget. We'll end up having work done on the backyard in stages of smaller steps so we don't break the bank. Darren came over and we showed him our backyard (which was basically just dirt and B-line of brick path that led from the house straight back to the pool area). We all chatted about what we wanted from the new space and some rough ideas. A couple days later, Darren sent us a drawing that was so much cooler than what we'd imagined! A centerpiece of an empty circle which works as a fire-pit, with alternating colors of concrete that extend out from it, and a bench to sit on. While making the bench, he even suggested adding in a handful of tiles as an accent. It's that attention to detail that really makes Stonecraft above and beyond the typical patio installer. Before coming across Stonecraft we had a couple other patio installers come give us estimates, and sure they would have gotten the job done, but it wasn't anything different or inviting that would make us WANT to be in our backyard. Now that we have this patio area, we can't wait to add even more onto it. It's the perfect centerpiece to really set the tone of our backyard. We couldn't be happier!

I called the company after finding them on Angie's List. I explained my situation to Andrea, Darren's wife. She suggested we send her a few pictures so that they could easily see the work that needed to be done. We were then in touch by phone and email, arranging a time and day for Darren to come and see the job. I was pleased that he was taking the time to actually see what needed to be done. Within 24 hours, he came to my home, accessed the job and gave us a price on the spot, followed up with a proposal. He explained exactly what he would do, and how long it would take (approximately 6-8 hours) which was accurate. We accepted his proposal, and worked out a day for the job to be done. It was infact done today, August 8, 2011. He arrived at about 7:30 AM, and completed the job at about 1:30 or 2:00PM. The job was done perfectly....exactly as he said it would be. His cleanup was just unbelieveable. If I didn't know work had been done, there was no tell tale sign...clean as a whistle. It was indeed a pleasure working with Darren, and I would use his services again. I recommend him to anyone...he is a true craftsmen....Thank you Darren!!!

They had great products, but the cost was a little bit high compared to our budget. Their portfolio was very detailed and we liked the product, but didn’t follow through with them.

Their service was good - it was what we expected. They were professional, polite, and on time. The price was reasonable. I would use them again in the future.

Daren and Andrea are a perfect husband and wife team and made our backyard absolutely beautiful! Darren was extremely patient and listened to all our needs and concerns. He worked with us to keep the cost down and helped us pick out the perfect colors and design. Work was completed ahead of schedule and done neatly. Any calls or emails were answered immediately by either Andrea or Darren. Both were very professional and reliable. We checked out five companies and are very pleased that we decided to use Stonecraft Masonry.

They have not started their work yet, but we have talked to them and they have given us an estimate. They?ll be starting work in a couple of weeks or maybe next week. We liked their promptness and professionalism. They listened well. They also followed up really well and gave us a lot of choice. The office that I called to follow up with things gave me all the papers and information that I needed very promptly. I am very pleased with them. We are waiting for our home owners to approve the work.

Darren is a craftsman. Old school. Very demanding on himself. And particular when it comes to quality and getting things done right. I approached six different masons about the work I wanted done. Darren was easily the most qualified -- and was not the least expensive. I took a gamble on my instincts that his continuation of the family trade, how he presented himself and how he went about discussing the project would lead to the result I wanted. He turned out to the talent that I hoped he would be. He runs his operation like a total pro -- just him and his assistant on this job -- arriving on time, completing the work on schedule and running a very clean, orderly job site. Don't hesitate about using Darren. He'll work hard to get everything done as it should be done -- will not cut corners, and will leave you with work that will stand the test of time. And his wife, Andrea, who runs his office, is a delight. No need to read any further. If his time frame works with yours, hire him.

Heard of Stonecraft through Angie's List. Darren came to house soon after first phone call and submitted bid soon thereafter. Had three other bids. Darren came in competitively. After hiring, rains started which postponed the start date. Darren kept us informed. Work took about as long as estimated and there were no additions to cost. Wall passed inpection. Wall was beautifully constructed.

The whole experience was perfect. The amount that was quoted never changed, the job was finished on the promised day. He suggested ways for us to cut some costs, he even gave us a higher wall without charging us any additional money. We were never home during the day and I never worried about any problems that might occur from that. He kept our pets safe which was a real priority, since our backyard gate was going to be opened frequently. I would recommend and rehire again.

I found them on Angie's List. I went with Darren because I got 3 referrals from people I called and they raved about him. He was just as good as they said he was. He was on time daily. Both him and his wife are fantastic. I communicated mostly by internet. I took the design of the BBQ from leaflet. He used stack stone, and flagstone. I called the company that I got the leaflet from and they told me it would be $25,000. He was able to recreate the BBQ for $7800 including all the brickwork, concrete, etc. It is very beautiful and looks very nice. I would and have already recommend him. He is quite busy, but he is worth waiting for.

It was the best experience I've ever had with any contractor of any kind. From my very first call to his office and his lovely wife Andrea, I felt I was in professional and friendly hands. Darren is a master at what he does, and a sheer pleasure to have around. His work ethic is top of the line. Everything is done carefully, correctly, and neatly; at the end of every day, there is no mess left around, everything is tidied up and put away. His knowledge of his craft is wide-ranging, and his attention to detail is unparalleled. He had great ideas, and steered me away from mistakes I would have made in design and concept, and always in the nicest and most respectful way. He was on the job himself every day, and always available, and his guys were professional, polite, and hard workers. I cannot praise Darren highly enough -- this was a rewarding experience from start to finish. But really, he needs to charge more! The cost was far too reasonable!

Perfectly. Darren saved us from some shoddy work done by another contractor. Darren couldn't be more down-to-earth, practical and friendly. The flagstone patio is beautiful, with each slab very thoughtfully placed and all the edges cut to fit perfectly together, forming a pleasing patten. The planter/retainer is especially nice, as he took extra care to give it a slight mosaic look, with triangular, square and rectangular pieces. The stucco wall is flawless and looks so much better than the bare cynderblock. He knew to put a layer of cement in between so that the cynderblock mortar wouldn't bleed through. A+++

Darren was wonderful to work with. He has so many beautiful and creative ideas, yet he works within your budget perfectly. He and his crew were very professional, on time, and cleaned up every night before leaving. The job was completed before his own deadline. I would definitely hire him again!
