The workers were professional. We were told names of all the contacts from owner to production manager. Received a good presentation of product. We had to decide at that time to get the better deal! Someone came out to remeasure and then work began in about 1 week. The working crew was courteous and professional. We had trouble communicating at times because we were often outside checking the work and asking questions. So we asked to please have an English speaking person. They did a great job and we were very happy with our home. They came out once to repaint a paint blister on a fascia board.
Description of Work: Prepare exterior for painting. Apply Tex-cote Coolwall Coating Systems. Remove and dispose of existing patio cover. Install foam window inserts around 10 windows and 1 sliding door. Apply paint to foam inserts. Remove exterior fixtures and replace. Remove cables and phone lines. Replace damaged sections of fascia boards and starterboards.

For years our adobe tile roof was giving us huge trouble. It seemed like every few years the roof required a different repair. Finally, we decided to do away with the adobe altogether. A few of our neighbors contracted Exterior Solutions with positive results. So, we gave them a shot, too. The Consultation and Estimation We gave them a call, and set up an appointment for a free consultation and roof inspection. The roofing specialist was a nice, informative, and professional gentleman. We were most impressed by his sensitivity to our needs and preferences for our home. We had a pretty specific list of "dos and don'ts", and we was great about meeting our expectations. So, we went ahead, and signed the contract. Demolition Day The roofing crew arrived a couple days later to start the job. I can't tell you how happy I was to see all those terracotta tiles get hauled away to the dump. The new roof was up on the house in about a week, and we are very pleased with the new look of our home. Exterior Solutions was always prompt with our requests or questions. There were a few times when we were unable to get a hold of someone to speak to. But, when we did, they were apologetic about missing our calls. I guess they're just that busy (who knows?). Our New Home My family and I are very happy with our new roof, and the great new look of our home.

The exterior paint crew did a good job and a satisfactory clean up upon completion. They also responded to all my requests. The project manager Mark contacted me daily about the progress and next day crew arrival times. The roof stripping crew was fast and did a satisfactory exterior clean up. However, the attic area was littered with old wooden shingles, that I later had to remove and dispose of. Overall, Exterior Solutions does very good work, the stucco, siding, and roof look great. Their office personnel communicate well with the client, the sales personnel can be somewhat persistant. I would use this contractor again with no hesitation.
Description of Work: Pressure blasted the exterior stucco, repaired all the cracks, prepped the wood siding and facia. Spray painted the house with the Cool Wall product. Stripped the old roof, installed roof sheeting, installed new flashing for the vents, installed new GAF shingles. The TEX COTE COOL WALL paint has a lifetime guarantee. The GAF roof is a 50 yr. roof. Manufacturer's written warranties are provided.

He had several individuals drop by the house for a cold call. The young man speaking was extremely unprofessional, used profanity as part of his normal speech, insulted the quality of my home and paint job on several occasions, and he had a big swastika tattooed and visible on his forearm. Being a female, home alone, I was actually a little intimidated by the demeanor of the men. I politely let them know I wasn't interested, but they wouldn't take no for an answer. It took many attempts to get them to leave. Very pushy and disrespectful. If their sales team is any representation of how this company does business, I would stay far, FAR away.

The sales lady would not give me a strait quote. Manipulative and pushy. Tryng to make you commit to a sale when all I wanted was a quote. Would not give me a quote for exterior stucko even when my wife was their with me. She wasted my whole afternoon. From the very start I already said that I only wanted a quote and would not commit to anything today. I have no work done on my house because i don't like the way they do business. I do not recommend this company.
Description of Work: I just wanted a quote for stucko on my exterior walls. After forcing an appointment with me and my wife, they wouldn't give me a quote. Their prices are top secret. However i was able to get a 9,000 quote for insulation. I think they are a bit expensive.

What a nightmare! Let me say what went well before going into what didn't: The new windows in our home look great and are great quality. The men who came and did the installation were fantastic; polite, punctual and professional. Now for the reasons my husband and I would not do business with them again: Manny who came to show and sell us the product on the first meeting, was a little pushy and a quick talker but in the end we liked the product, negotiated a price, signed a contract. We were very particular about the terms of the financing and let him know we would not accept nor could we afford anything different from what was agreed upon. We specifically told him that if that financing could not be produced we would not be able to move forward with the job and we wanted to ensure everything was in place before work began (dates for measurements and install were scheduled right away). He said we would be contacted by someone who worked in finance the following day and would confirm the terms of the financing went through. After a couple days of not hearing from anyone I called the main office; I left 3 messages (different days) on the main line and never heard back (they have a dial by name directory but our salesman wasnt on there and we only had first names for everyone else). Someone showed up at our house to do the scheduled measurements, he said he would get someone to call asap. Right before install was scheduled a different guy, Mike, called and we had a very specific conversation about the terms of the contract and financing in which he informed me terms were met and financing was approved as per contract. The installation began...after the second to last day of the install (almost everything was finished) a rep called wanting to re-confirm our financing terms and we were told that the financing we were promised did not go thru and we had to adhere to new terms of financing that did (the very ones that we specifically said we did not want to use). I immediately went to our signed contract and read the small print to the representative which clearly stated that if the agreed on financing could not be furnished we had to be notified in writing before work began and if no agreement could be reached then the existing deal was void. This situation began weeks of back and forth conversations with reps one of whom came to our home to try to convince us to take a line of equity out on our house! Unbelievable! Keep in mind during this time our home remained in an unfinished state. They denied ever calling us and telling us the financing was approved, they also tried to convince us that the original sales guy, Manny, wasn't even authorized to negotiate financing with us. In the end, I had to speak with a lawyer and eventually the company decided to give us a discount on the job so that the original financing could be met. I knew the contract I had was iron clad but not until I mentioned the lawyer would they budge. I was also disappointed that while this entire spectacle was going on, the owner, Craig Carson, never reached out to us. In the end, the only reason I didnt give them an F is because the product itself we love, the workers who did the installation were great and there was one finance representative introduced late in the game, Marissa, that was actually professional, responsive and helped us get through the whole ordeal; She was our saving grace in this deal and a very nice young woman. If you do decide to work with the company be careful... make sure your contract is solid, be very thorough, and ask for Marissa to help you through.
Description of Work: It was a full service window job including showing, selling, financing and installation of all windows in our home.

Any contractor you are looking at, "google" their names and look for complaints. write "complaints against Exterior Solutions, Carson CA." You'll be glad you did.
Description of Work: High pressure salesmen, Shane and other guy. Presentation lasted about 45 minutes. Did not leave our home for another 2 hours. Psychological manipulators. High price to put on 2nd layer of roofing, not even to remove the whole old roof! $28,000 TO PUT ON A SECOND LAYER? Pressure to "sign today" and get discount. Did not give me the "right to cancel in 3 days" form. Luckily I knew my rights and canceled. Do a search on their business name. Others call them high pressure salesmen, appears they contract out their work, one person noted that the contracted out business was not putting on the high quality material as the salesman had promised, but nothing he could do because the contract he signed says "install roofing material." It did not list, line by line, the high quality materials he was promised. Trust them if you want, but I like to use contractors with NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL, than a contractor who receives complaints and needs to fix complaints.

After dealing with the service department I cannot and will not ever use them again
Description of Work: 11 windows & 1 french door installed over the weekend. I had steel casement windows and a aluminium patio door in a rental property that we are having remodeled. Exterior Solutions came out for a quote and their price was right in the middle, the highest was 25600.00 another was around 9000.00. Having multiple rental properties we have had our fair share low bid contractors that quit in the middle of the project or ask for more $$$. I went with Exterior Solutions because they had done several jobs in the our neighborhood that I actually saw the work done, have dedicated installers and had the exact window that we wanted.

Guy came to my house with a friend, seemed really nervous offering to sign me up for a free estimate and to learn about their services. My house's exterior is fine, but i have a retaining wall that needs some paint, so I stupidly signe dup. they were very aggressive and the guy was very nervous asked for a lot of information and for my wife's name which i viewed as suspicious. A guy came later that afternoon we talked for a bit, he was "too friendly" and then proceeded to knock a big chunk of stucco out of my wall to demonstrate what's wrong with it. i'm sure he's right but i didn't appreciate that at all. My wife called in the midst of this and he asked where she was and proceeded to tell me he can;t proceed with an estimate without her there. I felt like i had been saved, proceeded to tell him go ahead and call em back to reschedule, but they have my house phone which I never answer Overall they came off as CREEPY and I would never do business with these guys.

Exterior Solutions first came to do our roof-they did a great job with excellent materials, they were prompt, done in 3 days and did a fantastic clean-up of the entire job. We were very happy with the work so had them come back to texcote the entire house. Again, prompt, finished quickly, and cleaned everything. Angel gave great suggestions for color and paint--they even got our paint custom made for us from a swatch I had gotten from a paint store--and they gave us the leftover paint in case we ever need it. In one year our house went from being one of the worst looking to just about the best on our block--our stucco was in TERRIBLE shape and the Texcote is fantastic. I will say that both times their original quotes were outrageous but they can be pretty easily negotiated with--the roof was slightly (maybe 500) over the other bids but they included all materials including wood repairs, which the other companies would not guarantee--and they finished it in 3 days. The same story with the texcote--we got them down to come down 60% from the original bid--so if you like to negotiate a bit...overall I think we paid a little bit more than we might have with someone else but we were extremely pleased with the service and the quality of work.
Description of Work: The roof was torn off, rotten beams replaced. and new roof and whirlybirds installed. Entire exterior re-done including extensive patching of stucco, including several holes from an old illegal addition previous owners built-power washed, some eaves replaced, entire exterior treated with texcote, painted, all window and detail trim painted.

I always get these flyers on my door advertising ?Exterior Solutions? specializing in windows, paint, and roofing. I called and setup an appointment. Two representatives arrive and proceed to go around my house and start talking all this doom and gloom about the condition of my current exterior paint. I later found out from 3 other contractors that a few patches and I would be fine. They proceed to measure the windows and we go into the dining room to continue our conversation. The younger of the two gentlemen had a very strong "salesman" vibe. He starts showing me all these window samples and telling me about trade embargos with Canada and the "Lexus" of windows". I am patient, but gently remind him that time is getting away from us. I tell him very clearly which window I would like so let's move on. He then continues his song and dance about the windows. I tell him that he no longer needs to sell me on the windows, let's move on. Out comes the notebook computer explaining the need to texcote my home. His well rehearsed speech seems to go on and on....and on. It is now 11:45am and I still don't know the estimate. I then forcefully tell them we need to wrap this up. Their bid for windows (10 total) was $18,000.00!!! To texcote my home would be $24,000.00!!! I did my best to contain my laughter and thanked them for their time. I then politely told them that I needed to go now because of my appointment. The younger man then said "ok, let me just call my boss." and I was treated to quite a theatric display. He loudly was talking (possibly to a dead phone) that we were such nice people and then he became shocked and said "You mean we could knock off 10% if they agree to be on the before and after section of our website. Wow! That is just awesome!" I became so uncomfortable with this clumsy sales technique. He was the stereotypical sales guy using ridiculous gimmicks to get me to commit to this hugely inflated price for some basic work I wanted to do to my home. It was now 12:25pm and I had to forcefully tell these two guys to get out of my house. They did not leave their written bid behind. Good riddance. I do not recommend this company at all.
Description of Work: I wanted to install energy efficient windows and repaint my home. I have a very small house, so I was expecting a decent price for these services.
