It has been one year since Irish Iron installed our fence and gate. As I stated before, the reason we chose this company is because they advertise and guarantee a "Powder Finish" that will not rust for the life of the product. I believe a picture is worth a thousand words. The owner indicated the damage to the product was due to my dog. I am submitting pictures to show the quaity of their product.
Description of Work: When you first get the product, everything is good. They are prompt, they are fairly quick and things are good. However, in the follow up, the actual product and its durability, not to mention how they conduct themselves once they have their money...not so good. The powder coated gate and fence developed rust spots within a few months of installation. One of the end caps was crooked. I called to have someone come out and check the fence and gate to see what could be done to repair it. We had to call several times to get someone out to look at the faulty areas, We finally had an appointment set up, and the service person showed up and took pictures and made notes to show the owner. He said he would call us the following day to let us know how the repairs will be handled. We waited a week with no call, so I called back to see what the decision was. I was told the owner had not given an answer, but we would get a call soon. The following day, I called again, and was told someone would be out to do the repairs when they were in our area. This seemed rather vague to me, so I explained that since my husband has medical appointments, could we please be notified a day prior to the person coming out, as I needed to be present. I was assured that we would receive a call a day prior to the repair person coming out. One week later, I was not at home, and when I returned, my husband told me someone named AJ was by to do the repairs. My husband is disabled both physically and mentally, and I needed to be home when the repair person showed up. I was not pleased that this business did not honor my request. The repair work is not satisfactory, in fact, I cannot see any difference. My husband asked AJ if he did side jobs, as he had one in mind. AJ agreed to come by that week-end to do the job, quoted a price and time. He never showed, so on Monday (8/27/12) I called the shop to see if I could speak to this AJ. I wanted to tell him I was not happy with the repairs, and to see why he did not show up. The owner said he would talk to AJ and call me back. Needless to say, we did not get a call, so I called again the following day. The owner was very hostile and rude to me. He told me I was unethical and upset I tried to undermine his business. (Let me remind you, this AJ person is the one that agreed to do the job and quoted a price. No one forced him to accept, yet I am getting the wrath of the owner.) The owner refused to give me AJ's number or give him a message, and before I could tell him I was not happy with the "repairs" or that the guy showed up unannounced, the owner hung up on me.
