Carmichael Overhead Door

Paul came out to provide an estimate - recommended either replacing the top panel or the entire door as well as the metal strut across the top. He promised to email his estimate to me the following day, however I never heard back from him.

Carmichael Overhead Door installed this garage door over nine years ago, and I've never had to have it serviced. I did lube the hinges periodically. Lately door sounded like it was rubbing on something when it went up. Called the company, and they were able to come ut the next day. Gave me a two hour time window. Louis called before he came to say he was on his way. He looked it over and raised and lowered the door then said it just needed a tuneup. He lubed the big spring, checked the cables, lubed the track underneath, and showed me how to do it myself and what to watch for. When I asked, he checked the gasket on the bottom of the door. I told him to put a new one on. He did. He was very polite and professional, and my door is working like new. I'm pleased and relieved.

I needed to have to garage door openers installed. After calling and speaking to the office, I went by and visited their showroom. I was able to pick out the garage door openers I was interested in and schedule an appointment for them to come out. The technician arrived a few minutes early installation went great and everything is been working perfectly since. I would definitely hire them again if I needed any garage door repairs. I would also highly recommend them to others

Our experience with this door extended over several weeks. The reason for this began with the installation day, when it began to rain and was cold. It turned out that one piece of decorative hardware was placed improperly and had to be unscrewed and placed again. That left some screw holes in the new door. The gentleman who installed it said that he would come back, fill the holes, sand them, then paint them and I wouldn't be able to tell. He said he'd be back the next week but didn't come until I made a couple of phone calls to get this followed up on. He stopped by and what he did made it look worse. All tolled, I made five phone calls (including the previous ones mentioned) to the company before someone with more knowledge and clout stopped by to look at it. He determined we needed a whole new panel for that section of the door. The company replaced that section without charge. After that, the door began sticking -- wouldn't always close. I called the company again and they sent someone out who adjusted it. It's been a few weeks now, and so far, so good. I am happy that the company followed through with our concerns and made good. The door looks beautiful and we've had several compliments on it. I was a bit disappointed that it took so long for someone to get out to take a proper look at the problem with the holes. It was an unfortunate error at the time of installation on what was a cold, rainy and uncomfortable day.

I needed two new remote controls for my garage door on my rental home. I was planning to go to Home Depot or Lowe’s when I decided to check Angie’s List. When I saw the listing for Carmichael Overhead Doo,r I remembered that I had used them in the past and was very satisfied with their service on my private home. I was even more excited because they had a GREAT coupon that read “Free garage door safety check ($78.00 value) when you purchase a LiftMaster garage door opener. Exclusively for Angie’s List.” I called and spoke with a gentleman and told him what I needed and asked him “I see this coupon on Angie’s List, is this true? He said yes and we scheduled an appointment. When I received the bill I was surprised to see a charge for $78.00 for Lube, serviced and adjusted the garage door. I called to let them know that they made a mistake on the bill because of the coupon. I spoke with Tina who said they were unaware of any coupon on Angie’s List and asked me to fax them a copy. I directed them to look it up for themselves but offered to take a picture and send it via a text message. The long and short of it was that whomever scheduled my service made a mistake. The free safety check comes with the actual garage door opener, not the remote controls. Although it took about 20 minutes to straighten it out, in the end they were very nice and did not charge me for the mistake. I appreciate business’ that are honest and do the right thing. I would definitely use them again.

Dan was great. He arrived on time and installed everything, in a timely manner. He also demonstrated the door sensor for preventing the unit from closing on something or someone. I was very pleased and impressed. I highly recommend them to anyone needing a Garage Door!

I like to use companies in the neighborhood to support their businesses. This company was highly rated on the list which confirms my experience with them.

It went very well. All information above. The only negative thing I would mention is that the technician did park in my driveway which surprised me since I pulled me car out of the garage and parked it in the middle of my driveway. Therefore, he had to squeeze to the side to park his truck. I thought he would park on the street. However, I am sure he would have if I would have mentioned my preference when I made the appointment. I have a newer driveway and I am trying to keep it in good shape.....

It was kind of an emergency, I called companies in the phone book. They gave me a reasonable estimate and a good explanation of what needed to be done. Even though they didn't offer the lowest price I feel what they asked was reasonable and I decided to go with the company that I felt was more professional. If I needed any other work done in the furture I would call Carmichael Overhead Door first.

They were responsive to all my inquiries and accomodated my schedule. The technicians arrived on schedule for the estimate and the service just as planned. The technician was thorough and provided guidance on additional items I would need to make the door more rigid in the future. Overall I am totally satisfied with their work, professionalism, and timeliness. I believe the price was right for the job.

They came out right away and fixed problem within 20 minutes. Price was reasonable.

I've used these guys several times over the years to replace my garage door springs and install a new garage door opener. They are generally and do good work at a fair price.

I called Paul; he gave me a phone estimate on prices, then came out within a couple of days with an actual estimate (took dimensions and faxed in 2 alternatives). It took a couple of weeks for the doors to be made, but Overhead came out and installed as soon as the doors were manufactured; put my old belt drive motor on the single door, installed new chain drive motor on double door (to handle weight), spent most of the day installing doors, had some trouble with wiring on electric eye, but he figured it out. A bit abrupt departure in afternoon (had to get to another job). Once doors painted, Paul helped with selecting decorative hardware.

We found the company on Angie's List. We personally visited to the office. There we were given a description of the materials and an explanation of the installation process. After reviewing the printed materials at home, we returned and placed our order. A technician measured the door at the scheduled time, and arranged for installation two days later. The installer arrived at the promised time and did a terrific job. All of this was done in three hours. Upon job completion, he explained how to operate the door. Everyone we dealt with was very professional and courteous. So glad to find this company on Angie's List.

I was given a time that the installer was to arrive, and after a couple of hours, I had to call and find out what happened. He had been told the house was vacant, so he ignored the time and put it off until later. It is vacant, but I went over there to sit in an empty house and wait for the installation. Don't know how he thought he could get the garage open and get paid if no one was there. Anyway, the actual installation went ok except we had to pay $70 extra for a ''low headroom track''.

It went well. I called because my door would not work. A representative came and told me it was too old (true), and I needed a new one. I made an appointment for someone to come and install it. They came two hours later (they called ahead of time to let me know they were running late), but they apologized. They installed the door and gave me a special product (free) to apply to the door hinges every once in a while to keep them running smoothly. They were very nice and professional.
