They were just great. Brian was a wealth of knowledge regarding maintenance of my trees. I really enjoyed talking with him.

They trimmed a number of trees and bushes, advised me on actions to take with trees and bushes around the house and recommended another service which had a crane to remove a tree deep within the lot. Excellent trimming and removal, site spotless after departure. Brian is very knowledgeable; I believe he was at one time the Carmel City Forester.

Brian Jacobson, the owner of Smith Tree Services, was referred to us by our next door neighbors. They had a large oak which was predominately hanging over the property line into our yard, which needed attention. Brian arrived to assess the situation and informed the neighbor and me that anything that was over the fence/property line was actually my responsibility! He made a couple of recommendations regarding the tree, and said he would send me an estimate, as well as the neighbors were having him do some other work on their oaks on their property. This was late spring of 2013, Got the estimate in a timely fashion with a couple of options of pruning of the tree to relieve it of a lot of weight and prolong its life. There was also talk of putting in a sunken pier block and a 4and quot; x 4and quot; post to shore up the tree. We decided to go with aggressive pruning and no post, so once the work was completed, Brian adjusted the price accordingly. The crew was fast, courteous, and professional. As they trimmed up the tree on our side they hauled the brushy parts out to the driveway so they could chip it up. This made a pretty good trail of leaves and other debris - and when they were done, they completely cleaned my ENTIRE driveway! I was blown away by this nice act! Additionally, the neighbors did NOT want the oak firewood being generated, so they asked if I wanted it - oh heck yeah! - and Brian had his crew bring it all over and drop it in my driveway. It ended up being a LOT of wood! I was very pleased with this entire encounter and told Brian that the next time we needed something done I'd contact him. Little did I know it would be sooner rather than later - on 8/10, one of our double-trunked oaks took a notion to fall down, right across my car parked in my driveway. We did not want to cut it until the insurance was set in motion, and it was a Saturday, so waited until Monday and put a call in to Brian. I left a message with a brief description of what had happened and he called me back within 10 minutes. He wanted to know the details, and when I told him, he said he'd call his crew and get right back to me. It was less than 3 minutes before he called again and said the crew would be here in 15 minutes! They actually pulled into my driveway about 10 minutes later, assessed the situation, and got to work, being very careful not to further damage the car. Less than an hour later, the tree was cut off the car, the branchy stuff chipped and hauled away, and again they used the blower to clean up the driveway. Brian had also arrived to see what was going on and made some recommendations about the other oaks in the immediate vicinity, as well as determined that another one had a rotted base and was in imminent danger of falling, so they removed that one as well. I will not hesitate to have them here for any tree-related needs. Brian is very knowledgable, professional, and personable, and his crew is the same way. The prices seem very reasonable and I am a happy customer!

This was the fifth time we've used Smith Tree Service. Brian, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. He will not recommend work that is unnecessary. His crew is well trained, efficient, and courteous and Brian makes sure the work is completed to the customer's satisfaction. I would recommend Smith Tree Service to all. I will be calling them again soon to schedule trimming before the storm season.

I have faith in their work.

He does a great job and I'm planning on having him come back out to prune an oak for me soon.

This is the 3rd time I've used them, and they have done work for my wife's business as well. They've done rope/belay tree climbing for pruning ant topping large trees, as well as ground and ladder based trimming of large/tall hedges. They do large hedge and treee trimming work more affordably than some landscapers.
