The company billed us twice for the work. It debited our credit card for $200 and also deducted $200 from escrow at the time of closing. At one point in June--after several tries--I managed to get an employee on the phone and she promised to send a refund asap. No refund appeared. Subsequent phone calls have been ignored. I get a recording with a promise to return the call and then nothing. I've even contacted the realtor who handled the sale and he has gotten no response. Though it is a relatively small amount of money, it is nonetheless maddening.78 H

Description of Work: Ailing house was hired to provide a pest report for a house we were in the process of purchasing. Their report stated that there were no subterranean termites and drywood termites were only in one wall of the garage. They recommended fumigation and provided a quote which seemed much too high. After we closed on the house we had another company provide a quote and they showed us extensive evidence of subterranean termite activity throughout the house (including live termites). This significantly lowers the value of the property and should have been clearly visible to the Ailing House inspector, but it seems he just wasn't paying attention. We had the ailing house inspector return. He first forgot the appointment entirely, then showed up late. He had nothing but excuses about why his first report wasn't complete and stated they have no warranty or liability for the content of their reports. He then updated the report and added more treatment at additional expense for the subterranean termites. I went with the other company, which did far more than Ailing House proposed, at a much lower cost, and warrantees their work.

Response from AILING HOUSE PEST CONTROL
As stated on every inspection report, " the inspection is limited to the visible and accessible areas" . The fact is our inspection was performed, then AFTERWARDS the new buyer had carpet and door trims removed which exposed subterranean termites. The second inspection that was performed by another firm was performed after the carpet and trims were removed. We then gave pricing for the treatment of the newly exposed areas. The pricing was very competitive for the additional work, however the buyer wanted this additional work completed for no charge. We pride ourselves in being a reputable company doing whatever it takes to help a buyer, homeowner or tenant through their pest related situation. We apologize to the buyer for the negative experience they felt they experienced and wish them the best in their future pest control experiences.

They were very good. We had them few years ago and we had them again and they did a great job too. They were reliable, professional, and all of the above. There was termites around the window and they removed the wood that was rotten, treated it with their pesticide and then they put a new wood. I like the way their statement was, they itemized everything it was very clear, their billing and estimate was exactly what they're going to do, and they knew what they are doing. The price was good. We'll use them again because they painted our house before.

We needed someone to come out and do a rat check on our property Carmel Valley. We called Ailing Pest and spoke to a very nice man who made an appointment for us at 10:00am. The day of the appointment arrived and at 10:25 the exterminator had not yet arrived. I called the office and spoke with a woman who answered the phone and was told he would be on his way and didn't I know he has other jobs to do? I brushed off her dis-courteousness, chalking it up to youth. At 11am he had still not yet arrived and I called back. I was put on hold then hung up on. We did not receive a follow up call and the service tech never showed.
