The work was done quickly but I feel price gouged. Kept adding items that increased the cost from what I was expecting to be a repair to major replacement. Bit of sticker shock. Combination of pump and pan was like buying a second water heater. No package deal offered and prices seemed on high end. They showed up on time, got the work done quickly and so far everything is working but they really try to sell you stuff including spending more on warranty.

OUTSTANDING! Our hot water heater tanked and was flooding our garage floor, so we called Express Water Heaters at 8:30 AM based on a google search. His price was the cheapest in my search, so I was a little skeptical. Well was I ever wrong! After talking with Robert "The Boss", I felt assured that he was a straight shooter and hired him for the job. By 10:30, a new water heater was delivered to our garage. By 1:30 Robert and his technician arrived just as he said. Within a couple of hours the new water heater was installed and I could clearly see how their workmanship blew away whoever did the previous install. They did a super-quality job and made some improvements with an emergency shutoff valve and overflow drain and tub. They even dried the flood on the floor and left the area looking much better than when they arrived. To sum up: They were prompt, professional, courteous and informative -- but here's the kicker -- the lowest priced too! Robert really knocked me out with his exceptional value. They're a rare case where a low-price leader provides topnotch service that exceeds your expectations. (And Robert's a real gentleman too). I can't recommend him highly enough. You will NOT be disappointed!

We contacted this provider after reading all of the extremely positive reviews others who had used this provider had posted. We certainly were not disappointed and join with all of those in expressing our complete satisfaction with the service we received. Our water heater went out on Saturday of the Labor Day weekend, but waited until Monday to call to see how soon the work could be scheduled. I spoke with Robert and he set up a time for the following day to install the new water heater. He and Neal arrived at the scheduled time, replaced the old water heater with a new one, and in no time we were once again enjoying hot water! They did a first-class job and we couldn't be more pleased with their excellent service. We will definitely use their services again in the future and recommend them to others without hesitation!

Our 12 year old Rheem started dripping around the safety valve on a Sunday evening. I called Robert early on Monday morning after researching online for a bit. Express Water Heaters & Plumbing had excellent reviews and they live up to them. Robert scheduled us later the same day. Robert and Neal are very professional and knowledgeable. They answered all my questions and quoted a very reasonable price. The job was installed better than the original. They were very neat and they cleaned up afterwards. I would definitely use them again.

He was right on time. He said he would arrive between 900am and 9:15am, but actually arrived even 15 minutes early! He and his partner were total professionals and got the job done promptly. Robert(the owner) was courteous and professional. I will always call him for any plumbing needs and I will refer him to friends, as well.

Water heater started leaking bad this morning. Called Robert at 10:30 and they said they'd be here between 1-3. They even had a coupon on Angie's List for $650 (plus $50 recycle fee on the old heater). They showed up on time & got to work. It was a good thing they measured the water pressure, as it turned out I had a broken pressure regulator and the house was at 130 psi instead of 60-70. Bob was able to replace the broken regulator for $320 while Neil finished the new heater in the garage. They were packed up & finished by 3, and everything is back to normal now.

The installation went smoothly. No problems. Bob Damuth arrived on time in the AM. Took out the old water heater. Installed a new one with new extra safety features (e.g., pressure valve). Removed old water heater and left premises clean.

Robert is very knowledgeable and honest. He showed up at the scheduled time and was efficient. Would highly recommend!

Called in the morning on Monday, and they were on site at 1:30, right on time as promised. Installed new water heater with all new gas and water fittings, new pan, and left the job clean and neat. Used the Angies List coupon and the installed price for the entire job was nearly half of a major competitor. Fair prices, good workmanship, great responsiveness and customer service. Robert, the owner, was on the job and a pleasure to work with. Neal, his assistant, did great work and was professional and clean. As a manager of a large service company, I can tell you that these are the people you want to use for a new water heater or emergency plumbing. I highly recommend this company.

The Mobile Home Park had shut off the gas to every unit while doing some repairs. Somehow, they forgot to turn the gas back on in our unit. My sister called my at 8:30 pm, stating she had no hot water. I was flying out the next day and could not help her. I emailed this company late at night, and by 07:35, they had contacted me and we set up a time that morning to go out and investigate the problem. I was furious to find out the Park had not turned on the gas, so I paid $125.00 to have someone do that and relight the appliances. The point is, however, this company was prompt, courteous, and I would use them again in a heartbeat! They even called me back in the late afternoon to see if everything was OK. Really, really happy with this company!

I had literally just signed up for Angie's List and the following day I noticed a small pool of water in the garage around the water heater. I logged into Angie's List and started researching water heater companies. I read the many positive reviews for Express Water Heaters and called them. They were very professional and gave great advice over the phone, They gave me the option of coming right out to install a new heater or save $100 and they would come out first thing the next morning. Since our leak was small I opted to save the $100. As I was not able to turn off the water source they had an employee come out that evening and turn it off for me. They came out the next day and installed a new water heater (and misc parts) in less than 2 hours! They also had my old heater picked up the same day for recycling! I will be using this company again for all my plumbing needs!

Bob was responsive and punctual. He made the experience of getting my water heater replaced rapid and painless. There was a small gas leak after installation, which he promptly returned to fix. His prices are lower than any in the big box stores, with no hidden charges, and the units that he uses are very high quality. I had an additional problem with the plumbing under my sink, and he diagnosed it immediately. Instead of setting up a separate appointment to come back to fix it, he did the job there and then in record time. You can't go wrong working with Bob.

It went great. We woke up on a Sunday, and noticed our hot water was out. Robert came to our place within an hour of our first phone call, and had it fixed very quickly. Robert was extremely professional and very knowledgable. While he was at our place, we asked for information about whole house water filtration systems, and he was a huge help. He informed us about an option that was thousands less than the one we had been looking at. I would highly recommend Robert!

My hot water heater stopped working, I called Express water heaters spoke to Robert who seemed to know what was wrong and quoted to fix it.He turned up ahead of time, which was a good thing as I needed to go out soon, helped me to sort out what was still covered by warranty. He was pleasant and professional ,getting the job done, cleaning up and explaining exactly what he had done. Great job.

We came home from a trip to find our water heater leaking. Called Robert at Express Water Heaters and he came out that day, took out (and removed at no extra cost!) the old one, installed a new one, spent some time with me going over the specifics, and even pointed me to SDG&E for a rebate! I think the whole replacement time was about an hour at the most. Why can't they all be like this? I will definitely recommend Express Water Heaters to my friends.

Well, today was our lucky day. We discovered our water heater was leaking. So how can that be lucky, you ask. .. because we met Robert at Express Water Heaters and he came to our rescue. It was about 2 pm on Friday afternoon when we called Express Water heaters. What kind of water heaters do you sell I asked the man who answered the phone. "Why we use only Bradford White because we think they are the best", the man replied. Can you give me a price, I asked, and he did. He explained that the price included everything, then he named off all the things included. He said he could be at my house by 3:30. I was surprised since it was so late on a Friday. I expected to be without hot water until Monday or pay extra for Saturday or Sunday. But no. . . . the whole installation was finished before 5 pm. Amazing. Robert Damuth 'The Boss' arrived in his truck right on time. That was surprising all by itself. I was in awe seeing all of the parts he carries in individual bins all with name tags. He and his assistant were the most efficient trades people I have ever seen. He quotes you a price on the phone and that is the final price which included everything.

I am very satisfied with the work done and the fact that they were so responsive on a weekend. Robert and Neil were very professional. I will definitely hire them again.

Trying to find a plumber who will come out to replace a leaking water heater on a Sunday is not a fun project. Finding one that will do it and not charge you twice what you would pay should you need this service performed on a weekday between 9-5, is almost impossible. I called several plumbers, all of which were highly rated on both Angie's List and Yelp to see if any of them could take on the task. Several plumbers had emergency contact numbers but no one amswered the calls, a few had answering services that could page technicians, but only one number was answered directly by "The Boss" himself-- Robert Damuth of Express Water Heaters. And while the other companies told me that I would be paying a premium for labor on a Sunday, taking what would be an approximate $1000 weekday job to a minimum of $1800 -2000. Express Water Heaters only charged an additional $50 to come out on a Sunday afternoon. After talking to Robert and understanding that for $949 ( inclusive of the $50 weekend fee) he would be delivering and installing a 50 gallon Bradford White water heater as well as hauling away the old one, I was sold. He gave me a two hour window in which they would start the job. He and his technician arrived promptly at the start of that window, were incredibly professional and quite courteous. He took the time to explain why the installation of my last water heater was faulty, causing it's premature demise and how to obtain an efficiency rebate from SDG&E. Overall, I was quite impressed with Express Water Heaters and will call them should I have additional plumbing needs.

Robert and his crew were great. They were able to come out on a Sunday and replace our water heater at a price that was the lowest I could find. They worked quickly and professionally and even added a few valves and a drip pan at no extra cost. I would highly recommend Express Water Heaters.

I came back from a trip to find that I had no hot water. First I called SDGE, and someone came pretty promptly and diagnosed the problem as being a faulty thermocouple. The water heater had already had some problems and was >10 years old, so I decided to replace it. I called 3 recommended Angie-recommended water heater specialists plus Home Depot. All were going to charge much more for the installation than for the water heater itself. I spoke to the owner of Express Water Heaters around dinnertime, and had the new heater working by 2:30 PM the next afternoon. He charged $300-$400 less than the nearest competitor for the same or equivalent water heater. I'm a happy camper.

When my tenants notified me that the water heater was leaking in my rental unit in Carlsbad, I originally submitted a claim to my home warranty service for the repairs. The warranty service had Accurate Plumbing (DO NOT RECOMMEND) come out and they said they had repaired the water heater. The Accurate Plumbing tech who had done the repair tracked wet drywall all over the garage and almost every room in the house as he tested that "hot water was coming out of every faucet". He made absolutely no attempt to clean up any of his mess. The next day the water heater sprung another, worse leak that flooded the garage and was soaking into the surrounding drywall. I called in Accurate Plumbing to notify them their repair failed. After they came and looked at the mess, they told me I needed a new water heater, but before they would start any work, I had to have the drywall repaired which was starting to grow black mold ... which they contributed to by botching the first repair! They also told me there would also be over $420 worth of "non-covered" items relating to the new water heater install that my home warranty would not cover. I found Laura the office manager at Accurate Plumbing to be quite rude with very poor customer service. In the interest of my tenants who where on day 4 of no hot water, and Accurate Plumbing's extremely poor workmanship and customer service and the fact I would be paying them over $420 plus expenses of drywall repair, I decided to look on Angie's List for a reputable plumber. I saw Express Water Heater's great reviews and gave them a call. Robert was very courteous and said he could replace the water heater AND repair the drywall the next day. Robert was very straight forward with what the total cost would be. He arrived promptly the next day, repaired all drywall damage, replaced the water heater, installed a drip pan (which would prevent any future drywall damage), cleaned up, and hauled away the old water heater. Great experience and would definitely use Express Water Heater again.

I called Robert from Express Water Heaters after receiving a couple of ridiculously high estimates from other plumbers, whom came to my house and quoted from $1800 to $2500 to replace my 40 gal water heater! When I clicked on his website Expresswaterheaters.com his prices were listed up front! The site was clear and easy to find what I needed. Robert didn't need to drive over for a estimate, he quoted me $799 over the phone (included waterheater, connectors, eq straps, and haul away). And came out the same day to complete the job in under two hours! There were two men to safely remove my old water heater, performing their job in a clean, quick and professional manner. I was billed exactly as promised $799! We need more small businesses like Express Water Heaters! I highly recommend them!
