Carlsbad Village Lock & Key

I called to get a quote for re-keying our office door. Michelle had someone in the office at the time so she had to call me back, which was fine. She called back about an hour later. She was very friendly and helpful. Their price estimate was about $60 more than the other two companies I called. Carlsbad Village Lock & Key charges $1.00 more per key than the other two companies as well. I'm not giving a review of the service, they may be very good and are very professional. I just wanted to let people know that my finding was that they were quite a bit more expensive than their competitors.

I had a quick conversation with them to discuss replacing my mailbox lock, they helped me figure out how to get it replaced without me being there. That was the hardest part.. they did the rest. Everything was done as promised and within the time promise. Making payment was hassle-free. Friendly and efficient, I would definitely recommend.

He was fabulous. 20 minutes after my emergency call- he arrived to open my door. My lock had broken off and I was locked out. Made a suggestion for re-keying that helps ameliorate the situation. He was a true pro. Gave me my Angie 's list discounts too

1) Told me over the phone what my cost would be if I came in to the shop vs. a service call at my house. 2) Very friendly and accommodating. Husband and wife both work in the shop which has tons of family photos and makes for a welcoming atmosphere. 3) Answered my questions about locks etc. very thoroughly. 4) It took them a while to get the key correctly cut but they stuck with it until it worked perfectly.

Lee showed up right on time, diagnosed the problem, and had it fixed in very short amount of time. I was very pleased with his work.

Carlsbad Village Lock & Key would be the only company that I would use again. The owner, Lee, was professional, and very caring. He even helped us with questions we had about our son's newly bought house. He not only re-keyed the locks, but helped us locate the gas source for the outdoor fire pit and even re-programed the garage door opener without charging. Also, we inadvertently had him re-key the wrong mailbox. Long story short, we had a mailbox key that had opened a mailbox we thought was our son's but wasn't. He had made three keys for the box. When we realized our mistake, we called Carlsbad Village Lock & Key to explain our blunder. . When I spoke with Lee, he asked if we wanted to re-key the correct box. At this time, we decided to keep the old key. Rather than have us drive to the shop, he said he could leave the old keys at the house hidden away and would call to say where they were. Within 15 minutes he called to say that he actually had re-keyed the mailbox and left us the three new keys! I don't think many locksmiths would go out of their way to help the way Lee did. Look no further when you want a locksmith. Carlsbad Village Lock & Key will be there for you! We highly recommend them.

I came to their store with a bag of parts - the broken key, my spare key, and a new shell/blank I had ordered on-line. They took the parts, cut the key into the blank, re-assembled the key and tested both keys - all within 15-20 minutes. A dealer quoted me $200, another hardware type store quoted $40. Carlsbad Village quoted me $40, then actually charged me only $20! I would clearly use these guys again! What great service. To make sure the locksmith is at the store, best to call in advance.

Lee arrived on time and worked on the door that wouldn't close correctly. He was very polite and friendly. Unfortunately the same latch started giving me problems several days later, so I called Carlsbad Village Lock and Key again. Lee came out the same day and worked on it for quite a LONG time. Finally, he got it to close correctly. I am very impressed with this business' dedication to its customers! After spending so much time on my one door, as he was leaving, said if I had any further problems with it, not to hesitate giving him a call. The locks to my back garage door self-destructed and I placed an emergency call to Carlsbad Village Lock & Key. Lee arrived approximately 20 minutes later. Lee explained my options and answered all my questions. The job took approximately a half hour. I TOTALLY RECOMMEND CARLSBAD LOCK & KEY!

The work went very well. The locksmith showed up on time and got the work done in an hour. The final price was very close to the estimate.

He was excellent. That worked out well. Our lock was about to fall apart. It's a double door and settled. It wasn't meeting the bolt. We had to tug and pull in order to open the door. He had to reinstall the lock. He had to carve out a new opening to reinstall the dead bolt. He did it quickly and well. It works like a charm.

Again all went extremely well and the job was a success.
