Allied Postal Products LLC

I decided that for security purposes I needed a new mail box. I consulted with the Federal Postal Services about my need so I could put my new box in or have someone put one in by their regulations and standards. The Postal Service Offices hand out flyers for this company at Federal Post Offices. I then called this company and got directions, and drove out to this store front. No one was in the office at first; but wisely I waited and they immediately returned. I then discussed price ranges and types of mail boxes. Wendy was nice and gave me all the information I felt I needed to have my box installed. We prediscussed the price and she said they would give me $30.00 approx. if I paid in full, etc... This was a really expensive endeavor costing me almost $700.00 for the box, and faux decorative rock and $75.00 for the installation. I spent one whole day waiting for him to come to my house; then he came much much later than he originally agreed on and I thought his reasons were " imaginarily made up to appease me". In other words he was late and made an "any excuse for it" as long as it was something I would accept. So he came back another day and installed it when I wasn't able to be present. This made me unhappy. Almost ANY one would agree that for 'just a mail box' $700.00 is significant enough that he should have been much more polite about doing the installation. In fact I thought all around he was rude to me. Only because they keep a key was I really nice to them; but, I might not have been if I didn't have the possibility of needing them in the future if i loose my key. So, they will probably read this and make me uncomfortable about needing their system in the future. I was unhappy not with the box itself; but, with this service. They also told me in the office that "if" I paid in cash or directly by check in full they would discount the price of the taxes off the over all amount. When I asked Jim about it he was visibly upset, and denied his wife had the right to "do that". I paid the full price even though they were really late, and weren't forthcoming with money issues. I'm not fibbing about the discounted amount just because I am upset he was so late installing it. Other people I know purchased their boxes from that store, but put them in by themselves perhaps it's passed by word of mouth that they are overly expensive and tardy. They could hire someone else to help with the installations who are trustworthy with keys. As long as my mail is safe he could have sent someone who would be on time and not stressed by our original communications. I don't like pre planned tardiness with that 'common list of manufactured excuses' when I have already overpaid for a product.
