Description of Work: San-Rock plastered our new pool with pepple - couldn't be happier with the care they took from prepping with plastic/taping - plastering - clean up - acid wash next day - all done at the scheduled appointment times - professionally - and with a smiling and friendly crew led by Co-owner Richard. The pool looks GREAT - and we were thrilled that after a very bad experience with our pool contractor - San-Rock did a great job finishing up the pool, and after 9 months, we finally have water in it!!

We were very disappointed at the end .our pool light and jacuzzi light worked prior to re plaster but after they did not working did not take responsibility for them.. We asked them to come out and fix them and they refused. I had recommended them to two friends and called them and told them not to use them.

This company has been working next door to me for several days. This morning we smelled gasoline inside our house and went out to find the source. There was gasoline in the gutter leading from the pool plastering machine on the back of their truck, all the way in front of my house and in front of the next neighbor's house one door down. Instead of using proper clean-up techniques for a toxic waste spill, they had placed a hose in the gutter in an attempt to wash their toxic waste down the street and into our sewer system, which by the way goes directly into the Los Angeles River two blocks away. They were aware of the problem, but decided to take the easy way out and did a half-assed job at that. As I write this our whole block smells of gasoline. If you have any concern for the environment -- DON'T HIRE THESE PEOPLE! And in case the company's owner is reading this, you should know that I've taken pictures and video and fled a complaint with the Dept of Stormwater Management.

Response from San Rock Pool Plastering Inc.
We plastered the pool at [removed member's address]. on 9/11/2013. Our crew was approached by a Hazmat Inspector in regards to a complaint by a neighboring home. Our Foreman spoke to the Inspector and informed him we contain all our waste in Rubbermaid trash cans with heavy duty 3 mil trash bags. After some investigation, the Hazmat Inspector found no negligence on behalf of San-Rock. Hazmat then contacted the City Inspector which our Foreman spoke to over the phone in which she requested our information which he gave with no hesitation. Our Foreman waited approximately 45 mins to meet with the City Inspector who did not arrive. As of today, 9/23/2013, there has been no follow up from anyone to our office in regards to this incident.

Do hire anyone but this firm. Don't trust them to tell you the truth.
Description of Work: These people came out and finished the pool in two days. The new light they installed for 400 dollars leaked like a sieve for more than 6 months. The pool people they recommended told us it was not the pool. They did send someone out to fix the light. We kept on losing water. After 8 months and about 500 dollars in water bills we finally hired a service that specialized in leaks. They said clearly it was the light that was installed. It took them about two minutes to identify the problem and fix it. They charged 600 dollars to fix the leak that San Roc clearly always knew was there. All in all it cost us about 1100 dollars to get at the truth. They also had a 10 percent discount on that they forgot to mention at the time. This was all in all the worst experience I have ever had with hiring a contractor.

Response from San Rock Pool Plastering Inc.
We re-plastered this customer’s pool and installed a new light on 2/29/12. We charged $250 for the light. On 7/25/12 we received a service call for a leak. Ed Rock went on the service call (at no charge) on 7/27/12, checked around everything we plastered and discovered a leak inside the light bucket, in the conduit which he sealed with epoxy. Ed advised the customer and her pool service person of his findings and told them to monitor the water level. The leak had nothing to do with the plaster job or the light installation. The leak was a result of warn out conduit but we tried to help resolve the problem as a courtesy. We have not heard back from this customer since 7/27/12. We recommend that this customer continue to monitor the water level as chances are the leak detector she hired tried to resolve the issue the same way that we did. If the leak comes back, we would advise this customer to hire a licensed pool electrician to replace the light bucket and conduit as it looked very old and worn.

San-Rock was completely professional and responsive to ALL our questions throughout the process. From everyone in the office to each of the workmen on the various crews, all of our calls and questions were addressed in a timely, clear and friendly manner. San-Rock was always punctual and the job progressed quite quickly once we decided to begin. I would definitely recommend San-Rock Pool Plastering without hesitation. They worked well with us in deciding what was best for our pool remodel. They offered ideas, but did not try to sell us on and quot;over the topand quot; designs. It has been a pleasant experience from beginning to end. We love the end result! Thank you!
Description of Work: San-Rock Pool Plastering did a complete remodel on our pool. The pool was drained and stripped of existing plaster, tile & coping. It was completely re-plumbed and brought up to date with today's safety standards. An auto-fill water & dedicated cleaning line were also added. New coping & tile, a new light and new equipment were installed. Bench seats were added to the design. And finally a French Grey plastered was applied. All in all, a very large job.

They took a little more time to evaluate what they were doing and gave me a schedule as to what day they were coming. Every day they were here at exactly the time they said they would be and they did exactly what they said they were going to do.

We considered five different pool plastering companies to finish our pool.... although San Rock Pool was recommended to me from one of my friends who had their pool redone with San Rock several years ago. . After meeting with the five sales reps from each company, Ed Rock, of San Rock Pool came across as the most knowledgeable person within the group. His prices also came in at the lower end of the spectrum. All toll, there was a $2000 difference from high to low. But, price was not my only concern. I wanted to be assured that if there were any problems i wanted to reach the company president, not just any employee. Ed Rock did just that. No matter when i called him, he either picked up the phone or called me back asap. The pool was scrapped of all the old plaster and old waterline tile in just 4 hours. I couldn't believe how fast that went. Next was the 2 man team of tile setters. They also redesigned our adjoining spa with a small but very effieienct spill over into the pool. That worked and looked better than i could have hoped for. They also fixed any and all of the additional problems we had within the actual gunite. That whole process took about 6 hours. Two days later Ed sent his re-plastering crew in. They finished the process in less than 4 hours from the time they walked into the backyard to the time the hoses went into the water. All in all, the whole process took less than a week. Ed also had a couple of great suggestions regarding a small 2 foot high wall we were building on part of the pool to seperate the pool from the garden area. He also went over all the color variations we could have used within the plaster...... noteing what he thought would work best with our sourounding trees. We picked the light grey option and could not be happier. You know its been done right when everyone we have had over is just amazed at the final product. Highly recommend Ed Rock and San Rock Pool Plastering to anyone who needs a pool restoration.
Description of Work: Complete pool plaster resteration. Our pool was approximately 30 years old and in dire need of repair. The pool was stripped of all the old plaster, including all the water line tile. Then, all of the new waterline tile was set into place and grouted. Two days later all of the pool plastering was completed in just under 4 hours!

They came on a Monday and the pool was done on Friday. They were timely, had a lot of people on the job and cleaned up after themselves. We are very pleased with the work that they did. They price was extremely reasonable for their expertise. Even their office staff was terrific. They were considerate and timely.
Description of Work: They had to redo our pool. We had it retiled, replastered, they removed old steps and a diving board platform.

THE WORKERS FOR SAN-ROCK SHOWED UP ON TIME AND WORKED VERY CLEANLY. THE OFFICE PEOPLE WERE FRIENDLY AND INFORMED. THE OWNER HIMSELF CAME OUT AND GAVE ME THE QUOTE. I WASN'T HAPPY WITH THE LOOK OF PART OF THE TILE (PER MY INSTRUCTIONS), AND THEY WERE HAPPY TO REMOVE IT AND RE-DO IT FOR ME. THEY WERE GREAT AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.
Description of Work: I HAD MY POOL AND JACUZZI STRIPPED, SANDED DOWN AND RE-PLASTERED AND RETILED.
